Yeah so I devised this team after battling on Shoddy for a few months and seeing what works and what doesn't work. I've done about 10 battles so far and it has performed admirably. Only problem is that in ever battle, one glaring hole showed up: STEALTH ROCK. I don't have a Defog or a Rapid Spin but I'm open to alternatives or suggestions on any part of the team that isn't Ambipom. He's my baby.
Also, idk how to make sprites and stuff....so here are the Stats and names instead.
Ambipom
4 HP
252 Attk
252 Spd
Adamant, Technician, Silk Scarf
Fake Out
Brick Break
Payback
U-Turn
Ambipom is my lead. I found out about Technician and I always loved the move Fake Out so tossing a Silk Scarf on him makes it a fantastic way to quickly damage and flinch. I took an Azelf down to 1HP with just that move. It was lovely. Anyways, I always follow it up with a U-Turn and bring out the appropriate counter. The problem with this is that it is always favorable to bring him back out in mid and even late game and do that formula over and over again. Why it is a problem is because everybody has Stealth Rock and that much switching becomes quite detrimental.
Lanturn
40 HP
80 Spd
136 SpA
252 SpD
Calm, Volt Absorb, Leftovers
Confuse Ray
Surf
Discharge
Thunderwave
Few people know what to do against a Lanturn. I had another very successful team and found that having an excellent special sponge (Blissey) was impossibly useful. Many told me that Blissey simply wouldn't work because everybody knows what to do about them now but I did swimmingly regardless. So in this team, this is my Blissey. Switching in to some of the most common special attacks in the game (Surf, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam) then following that up with either an attack or a status ailment. Confuse Ray is so perfect because it usually forces a switch especially when the opponent has little health to mess around with. Thunderwave is quite self explanitory and Surf and Discharge are well augmented when Lanturn is tossed into a Rain Dance.
Arcanine
4 HP
252 Attk
252 Spd
Adamant, Flash Fire, Charcoal
Extreme Speed
Flare Blitz
Overheat
Thunderfang
I went up against a whole lot of Will-O-Wisps and Fire Fangs to learn that even though Fire types aren't common, their moves are. So Arcanine came to mind after several battles against them. It's a fantastic switch in versus an Infernape lead as well as something nice to surprise an Aerodactyl. I couldn't put on Choice Band because of the Item clause but I'm not sure if it's all that detrimental because it adds a nice 20% to Overheat which usually gives that extra nudge to a OHKO a few. Two priority moves give me LOTS of advantages when things get ugly.
Dugtrio
40 HP
252 Attk
216 Spe
Jolly, Arena Trap, Life Orb
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Stealth Rock
Aerial Ace
This one can go. Honestly I was just looking for a good revenge killer and there are few better than this guy. It could just be bad luck, but this Dugtrio almost always got his ass whooped.
Breloom
44 HP
252 Attk
212 Spe
Adamant, Poison Heal, Toxic Orb
Focus Punch
Spore
Seed Bomb
Stone Edge
I love having Breloom on this team because he's such a great switch-in for status moves what with Toxic Orb being there. With some quick thinking I took out a Metagross and a Scizor with this baby. Spore works wonders on just about anything and I really didn't like the other variants for Breloom. His odd typing only adds to the awesomness. Truly, he's is the all purpose Pokemon of this team.
Weavile
40 HP
252 Attk
216 Spe
Jolly, Pressure, Choice Band
Pursuit
Ice Shard
Brick Break
Ice Punch
This is the standard revenge killer Weavile. I'm sure you all know it well. I took up Ice Punch because of the Type coverage but I'm really open to rethinking that. Night Slash would be soooo helpful against Rotoms and that Ghost/Ice lead that currently escapes my memory. Either way, I'm really reliant on priority and Ice Shard on a Weavile is insanely helpful. This one could switch to Scizor but I'm just not sure yet
So that's the team! Generally a very sound, very stable team but with me losing grip on the battle every time Stealth Rock comes into play I'm worried. Rate it or give suggestions on the SR problem. Thank you kindly!
