Unlike Gen 5, where I played very strategic, I have found my best teams in this gen have been extremely offensive. With that in mind, I was looking at a few Pokemon I like, and I wanted to make a pretty versatile Hyper Offensive team, and decided to have a theme: Every Pokemon on this team can Volt Switch or U-Turn. Aside from that, I just tried to make a team that would work decently well. There is no "Main Pokemon" and thus, no Core around said sweeper. It's just 6 Pokemon that are offensively good.
At a glance:
Galvantula @ Focus Sash (Compound Eyes)
Timid - 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
~Bug Buzz
~Sticky Web
~Thunder
~Volt Switch
My usual lead, Galvantula guarantees a Sticky Web gets off with the Focus Sash. With the Compound Eyes, Thunder has 97 Accuracy. Bug Buzz is the strongest Bug STAB, and Volt Switch is the theme of the team. I've actually learned through use that Galvantula is faster than it looks. Looking at this Pokemon, Id never guess 108 base speed, but it outspeeds a lot of Pokemon that I wouldnt have expected it to.
Genesect @ Expert Belt (Download)
Hasty - 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 Atk
~Flamethrower
~Ice Beam
~Thunderbolt
~U-Turn
I went with the 5th gen Expert Belt here, due to the amount of choicers on my team. I chose Thunderbolt over Thunder due to the drop in Politoads use and the downgrade in Drizzle. Genesect is broke as hell, but I plan on using it until it's Uber again.
Infernape @ Choice Scarf (Blaze)
Adament - 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
~Close Combat
~Flare Blitz
~Mach Punch
~U-Turn
One of the Pokemon that inspired this Volt-Turning team, I really like the Scarf Ape set. Something that people may think is strange is the fact that I carry Mach Punch on Ape. Rotom-Wash and Mienshao are both pretty common scarf-users, so having Mach Punch on Ape can give the illusion that it's banded. On top of that, there are those Pokemon that can Outspeed Scarf-Ape after an Agility or something similar. Due to having Mach Punch, I am debating on changing the ability to Iron Fist, but I think a suicidal Flare Blitz is going to be more common than Mach Punch. Plus, on top of that, I want to make this Ape in game, and I don't have an Iron-Fist Chimchar.
Meinshao @ Choice Scarf (Regenerator)
Jolly - 252 Spe, 252 Atk, 4 HP
~High Jump Kick
~Knock Off
~Stone Edge
~U-Turn
I love Knock Off this gen. Aside from the Knock Off, this is basically a standard scarf set. Meinshao also inspired this team, because I love the Regenerator U-Turn.
Scizor @ Choice Band (Technician)
Adamant - 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Spe
~Bullet Punch
~Knock Off
~Superpower
~U-Turn
So many people just assume this is a Mega Scizor, for obvious reasons. However, this is just the standard CB set, which I think is more dangerous than the Mega set. I've OHKO'd Aegislash with the Knock Off before when it switched in, but I dont remember if it was at 100% health or not.
Rotom-W @ Choice Specs (Levitate)
Timid - 252 Spe, 252 SpA, 4 Spe
~Hydro Pump
~Shadow Ball
~Trick
~Volt Switch
Originally a Greninja, I realized that Talonflame completely sweeps my team after a Bulk Up, and OHKOs both of my scarfers with his priority Brave Bird. As a result, I brought in the biggest Talonflame counter, Rotom-Wash. The moveset is pretty standard, except for Shadow Ball which I put over HPIce for 2 reasons: Dont want to IV breed for HP Ice in-game, and Hidden Power got nerfed.
