This wasn't suppose to be a Sandstorm Team

Hello everyone. This is my second attempt at making a team. I hope it turned out ok. I really can't say this anymore, this team has really undergone a lot of changes.

Line-up:

Roserade@Lum Berry
6 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd
Timid
Natural Cure
~Grass Knot
~HP Ground
~Sleep Powder
~Toxic Spkies

A little modified set I made. Leaf Storm for it's amazing power. Sleep Powder and Toxic Spikes are for team support and work hand-in-hand. Put the foe to sleep and get in a free spikes hopefully. Also absorbs enemy toxic spikes. After a lot of testing HP Ground works a lot better then HP Fire on this team. KO'ed a lot of Fire-types and Electrics. Decided to use Lum Berry for know and see how it works and to see if anyone else approves of it.

Bronzong@Leftovers
252 HP / 112 Atk / 10 Def / 40 SpAtk / 96 SpDef
Relaxed
Levitate
~Gyro Ball
~Stealth Rock
~Charge Beam
~Reflect

Bronzong is back xD. I put this guy back in but changed its moves around a bit. Added Reflect and Stealth Rock since I took out for Hippowdon for Vaporeon. Gave it 40 SpAtk EV's so that it can take out Gyarados in 2 hits.

Mismagius@Leftovers
116 HP / 140 SpAtk / 252 Spd
Timid
~Calm Mind
~Shadow Ball
~HP Fighting
~Substitute

Since this team has under gone a major overhaul this became the new special sweeper. I do lose an amazing revenge killer for this but it's for the better I hope. It has a classic strategy to it, sub, boost, and attack. Even thought there is a Sandstorm running the Leftovers will nullify it and hopefully the subbing damage and regular damage won't overwhelm her. Plus I can always try for a little Wish support from Vaporeon.

Tyranitar@Choice Band
108 HP / 28 Atk / 176 SpDef / 196 Spd
Adamant
~Crunch
~Stone Edge
~Earthquake
~Pursuit

This Tyranitar brings back the Sandstorm to my team. At least Garchomp might have fun with Sand Veil. This Tyranitar is modified from a standard CBTar. It's Atk EVs still allow it to OHKO Azelf and Gengar even if they don't switch and the SpDef EVs will allow him to take less damage from the special attacks. The Spd EVs allow it to outrun Cresselia, a major annoyance to my teams and and the reason for many of the overhauls on this team, so that I can hit hard with Crunch in case they think they can stay in and Burn or Paralyze me.

Garchomp@Choice Scarf
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Fire Blast
~Outrage

It out speeds many possible threats, and with my walls switching won't be a problem. Fire Blast added just for added support against physical walls. This now becomes my only revenge killer. But if the pokemon is weak enough, it should die in one hit.

Vaporeon@Leftovers
188 HP / 252 Def / 70 SpAtk
Bold
~Wish
~Surf
~Ice Beam
~HP Electric

Changed Hippowdon to Vaporeon. A little WishPasser. Helps my revenge killers stay a alive longer. Also provides extra support against Gyarados and Infernape.

Now that you've seen the team. Please Rate away.

There's just a few things that could do with changing.

While you have Dusknoir with ThunderPunch, Gyarados will be a pain to overcome. That's your only answer to it, and you don't have Stealth Rock to atleast wear it down every time it switches in. That means you're likely to take a Waterfall after he finds out Dusknoir's the counter, which then leads you to switch in later when he uses Dragon Dance, and considering ThunderPunch doesn't OHKO, a 2nd Dragon Dance could be used which will then take you down. Pain Split could save you, but a predicted Taunt is something you do not want to be up againt. Keep that in mind.

Zapdis is something else I'd look out for. Nothing can effectively take it down, and you don't have Stealth Rock either.

Hippowdon with Curse is cool, but its EVs are then not as strict and could do with more special defense for the odd attack. I would recommend 192 EVs in defense and then pile the rest in defense. With the above mentioned, you could always scrap the idea and add Stealth Rock over Curse to aide that Gyarados problem. Stone-Edge>Ice Fang? Garchomp is not going to take on Curse Earthquake anyway.

Lucario is always something to look out for. However it's usually answered by revenge killers anyway like your Heatran and Garchomp.

Mamoswine seems like he'll have a field of day forcing your only reliable response, Mitlotic, to take on STab Earthquake with a more than likely Life Orb boost which won't last too long. Blizzard will demolish any chances of Hippowdon countering it, even though the accuracy is something to take into account. Heatra revenge killing is your best bet.

Watch out for Gengar, especially with Choice Scarf so he can't effectively take down your entire team. Milotic in Sand will be 3HKOed by Thunderbolt, but it's a close 2HKO so I would be careful.

Without Swords Dance, Fire Blast is the more efficient choice as oppose to Fire Fang. You will 2HKO Skarmory and OHKO Forretress while Fire Fang does not. You might enjoy the physical aspect of it, but it's not as if you're using it for anything other than super effective hits.

A few things to look out for, but barely anything needs changing as the team looks solid. Though I would really consider Stealth Rock somewhere.

You should be also be wary of Weavile since both choice banded and SD variants can screw you over.

Little nitpicking: It's more efficient to max Milotic's HP and take those 46 EV's out of Defense instead.

@Taylor
thanks that was alot of help

@RedSP
I guess that sounds better about the Milotic. I'll change it for now.

I meant the 192 in defense (I might not have made that clear). It hits the magic number for 2 stat points for only 4 EVs.

Following the same concept; with Milotic, take out 12 EVs from satk and add them to defense.

alright thank you.

Milotic
252 HP / 224 Def / 34 SpAtk

Hippowdon@Leftovers
252 HP / 192 Def / 66 SpDef
that should be right now

Hidden Power ground allows you the kills on Heatran the best swich into Roserade (especially the SleepTalk Variants). But that is the only use since it used mostly just for steel types and misses out on hitting skarmory. It also allows the opponent to bring in their scizor and forretress and Bronzong much easier to start sweeping or spiking. While not a bad choice I find Hidden Power Fire to be better for threatening those steels. Remember Ground might hit steels, electrics, rocks, posions, and fires, but HP Fire will hit bugs, grass, ice and steel 3 of whom resist grass and the other threatens them a lot.

I feel roserade would enjoy Lum Berry in place of Life Orb. But KD, Natural Cure renders Lum Berry useless. Okay Mr. Debating partner let me show you this. Gengar Leads and Crobat leads first attack on Roserade will be hypnosis. However with Lum Berry you know can wake up right after and then Sleep them back. The entire battle has been reversed from the first turn. This can also hlep if you need to sleep something that has a status move to sweep or toxic spikes late game. Take Blissey. Now you can switch in on their Thunder Wave, sleep them, and prepare to get some more toxic spikes.

Heatran can always be more bulky and run 20 HP and only the neccesary 236 Speed EVs. Otherwise you might as well just go timid to outspeed a lot of scarfer threats (such as Heracross).

Dusknoir would rather have Shadow Sneak over ThunderPunch since its use is limited to only Gyarados who Hippo, Heatran, and Garchomp should handle (As well as roserade dealing with leads). Shadow Sneak allows you quick priority to 2HKO gengar who fails to OHKO back with shadow ball. It also dents Azelf pretty much beyond use.

if i were you, shadow sneak>fire punch on dusknoir
you have heatran and chomp to deal the fire attacks already, and shadow sneak is essential for dealing the final blow to the weak opponents or getting in some damage before you're killed. it also deals some nice damage to those fast pychics(alakazam)

@KinglerDude24
thanks for the comments the only change I made was the Tpunch to the Shadow Sneak

@20eyes
sorry i don't agree with that

I disagree with Sucker Punch>ThunderPunch. Gyarados becomes more of a situational problem now, with Taunt it now can sweep with ease. Garchomp is your only answer with Outrage, and then hope that he came in on Stealth Rock allowing your Dusclops to Sucker Punch Gyarados. It's pretty unreliable.

Pretty much what most people said. Gyarados is one of the biggest, and most common, threat to your team. Without any electric attacks, I'll just have fun 'dancing' around your team and proceed to Waterfall, Ice Fang, Stone Edge or Earthquake the whole of your team to death. Dusknoir can Will-o-wisp it but it isn't reliable with the assumable flinch rate charging at you and mediocre accuracy it has.

I'd probably just add 1 or 2 electric attacks in order to stop it in its track. Hidden Power: Electric on Milotic can work better than Thunderpunch on Dusknoir (which some people are suggesting) since Gyarados is generally bulky on the physical spectrum.

With the amount of damage your Roserade will be taking from Life Orb and Sand Storm (with perhaps Spikes and Stealth Rocks ontop of that) as well as no Wish Passers, I would definitely go with another item. Though it isn't bulky, you can always use Leftovers or Black Sludge to cancel out the Sandstorm residual damage.

Like a lot of teams on here lately, Mamoswine will rip this up pretty badly, especially the Choice Band version. CB Earthquake will 2HKO everything on your team, and will have a chance at 2HKOing Hippowdon if he takes any prior damage. Because of this, I reccomend getting one or more levitating pokemon on your team.

The best counters to Mamoswine are Cressilia, Bronzong, and Weezing. I think Cress would fit best in here personally. Since you also need a good counter for Infernape AND Garchomp, as well as a Status Absorber, you could do one of two sets:

Replace Milotic for the Psycho Shift cress set. It'll screw over Lucario too, if they are bold enough to Swords Dance in your face. Psychic will kill off Infernape. Burn will deal with garchomp, because Psycho Shift won't miss like Will O Wisp would. For subchomp, Hippowdon will have to roar it out.

If you don't like the idea of Psycho Shift, standard Restalking Cress with Ice Beam and Psychic should be good enough. Again, put this over Milotic, because otherwise their roles will overlap.

I would stick Thunderpunch on Dusknoir over Shadow Sneak or Will O Wisp. The threat of Will O Wisp alone is usually enough to scare off physical attackers, but without Thunderpunch, you don't have a Gyarados counter. Thunderpunch that sucker while he Taunts you, and he'll likely never get to bother you again thanks to Stealth Rock and Sandstream damage. I don't think you'll miss WoW much, because Cress will burn tons of stuff anyways.

Is it true that Infernape and Heatran was covered by Milotic? With Milotic gone, and a Bronzong in return, you're letting an opposing Infernape or Heatran become a major threat to the team. Now you must resort to your revenge killers with the likely chance each time you're confronted with these Pokemon you will lose a Pokemon in order to allow your Garchomp / Heatran in so you can force out the threat until the next time.

Replacing Rosarade with Tentacruel will remedy the Infernape weakness, and become an additional answer to Heatran. In theory, this does the same job as Rosarade but better; because you have (on paper, as I don't like the lack of recovery) an Infernape counter. You will still have the option to lay out the Toxic Spikes yourself.

When all is said and done, personally, I would have stuck with Milotic as it is the more reliable Heatran and Infernape counter. I would have stuck Hidden Power [Electric] over Ice Beam to completely rid of Gyarados' threat.

If I were to replace Roserade i would lose a pretty good lead. But the Milotic suggestion is better, I was looking for way to counter Gyardos's mainly and adding HP Electric would solve that problem. But letting it take on Infernape is iffy since it has Grass Knot on most sets. So that's where the Tentacreul becomes pretty useful. But then who would I lead with? Tentacreul lead just seems odd.

EDIT: More Changes added Bronzong and Vaporeon

A ton of things has been changed. Please Rate.

Sorry for the double post but i didn't think adding this comment in the last post would alert anyone to the changes
