- + Excellent coverage moves such as Psychic, Focus Blast, Hidden Power Ice and Grass Knot, which allow for Thundurus-T to check various threats in the metagame such as Mega Venusaur, Tyranitar, Dragonite, Ferrothorn, and Hydreigon.
- + Access to Volt Absorb, which grants Thundurus-T immunity to Electric-type moves and a means of recovery and check Thundurus.
- + Great boosting move in Nasty Plot, which allow it to become an effective wallbreaker and threaten defensive teams.
- + Electric / Flying typing leaves it with only two weaknesses in Ice- and Rock-types. Additionally, its typing allows it to check Pokemon such as opposing Thundurus and Mega Salamence while switching into Choice Scarf Garchomp and Landorus-T locked into Earthquake.
- - Despite all the positive traits it has, Thundurus-T is outclassed by its counterpart Thundurus, as it loses a lot of utility without the use of Prankster.
- - Thundurus-T gets a decrease in Speed, which leaves it at base 101 only to be outsped by faster threats such as Latios, Gengar, and non Choice Scarf variants of Garchomp.
- - Thundurus-T's bulk is pretty lacking as well and can easily be revenge killed by powerful attackers.

Moves
========
- Thunderbolt is a great neutral STAB move, which hits anything that doesn't resist it.
- Hidden Power Ice hits Dragon-types such as Dragonite, Garchomp, and Mega Salamence.
- Focus Blast hits Ferrothorn, Tyranitar, and Hydreigon for more damage.
- Nasty Plot boosts Thundurus-T's Special Attack to make it a more powerful wallbreaker.
========
- 252 Speed EVs with a Timid nature allow for Thundurus to outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Kangaskhan, and Volcarona.
- 252 EVs are invested into Special Attack in order to increase Thundurus-T's damage output.
- Sitrus Berry is the preferred item, as Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird becomes a 3HKO. It also allows Thundurus-T to avoid a 2HKO from Rotom-W's Hydro Pump and Cresselia's Ice Beam.
- Volt Absorb is Thundurus-T's only ability available, but it's very handy for switching into any predicted Electric-type moves such as Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, and Thunderbolt.
========
- Thundurus-T is very threatening to Pokemon such as Talonflame,

Moves
========
- Thunderbolt great STAB also a chance for paralyze.
- Hidden Power Ice good coverage against Dragon-types.
- Good for hitting Dark- and Steel-types.
- Volt Switch for providing great momentum to switch into a reasonable counter.
- Psychic has excellent neutral coverage and hits Mega Venusaur that otherwise wall it.
- Grass Knot gives Thundurus-T coverage against Rock- and Ground-types.
========
- Maximum Speed and Special Attack helps Thundurus-T take full advantage of using either Choice Scarf or Choice Specs. A Timid nature can be used to take full advantage of Choice Scarf in outspeeding Landorus-T, Thundurus, Mega Mengar, Mega Salamence, and Greninja.
- If you don't want to sacrifice damage for Speed, Choice Specs can be used instead to hit harder. With Choice Specs, Thundurus-T can 2HKO Sylveon with a STAB Thunderbolt, OHKO Hydreigon and uninvested Ferrothorn with Focus Blast, and OHKO Hippowdon with Grass Knot.
- If you want more damage to secure KOes, a Modest nature is more preferred for Choice Specs. Thunderbolt OHKOes Rotom-W, Psychic OHKOes Heracross on the switch.
- Volt Absorb makes Thundurus-T an excellent status absorber for Thunder Wave and other Electric-type moves.
========
- Thundurus-T should usually spam Volt Switch to get some damage off, and it also helps for it to go into a reasonable check or counter to the opposing threat. This makes it a safe option.
- Hidden Power Ice is always a great way to land a hit on Garchomp or Landorus-T switching into a predicted Thunderbolt or Volt Switch.

Other Options
=============
- Life Orb can be used to get a little extra damage off with a cost of a bit of heath each turn.
- Weakness Policy can be used to get a huge boost in Attack and Special Attack for Thundurus-T; however, its frail, which makes the item unreliable.
- Agility can be used together with Nasty Plot for a double dance sweeper. Thundurus-T won't have enough turns to set up both moves.
- Dark Pulse can be used for neutral coverage along with hitting Aegislash and Cresselia.
- Sludge Wave can be used to 2HKO Sylveon.
- Thunder can be used instead of Thunderbolt for more power. Unfortunately, it lacks accuracy and less PP than Thunderbolt. Also, it requires rain support in order for Thunder to have perfect accuracy.
===================
**Chansey**: Chansey can tank any attack that Thundurus-T has if it's not running Nasty Plot and Focus Blast. Coupled with its special bulk, it is able to wear down and cripple Thundurus-T with Toxic and continue to stall it with Soft-Boiled.
**Mamoswine**: Mamoswine, especially Assault Vest and Focus Sash variants can survive a hit from Thundurus-T's Focus Blast and can retaliate with a STAB Icicle Spear and Ice Shard.
**Revenge Killers**:
