Thanks to an incredible Special Attack stat, great coverage, and strong offensive and defensive typing allowing it to find a niche over other options such as Zapdos, the Bolt Strike Pokemon is a electrifying pivot in UU! Focus Blast is a valuable coverage option into Steel-, Rock-, and Ground-types like Excadrill, Ogerpon-C, Rhyperior, and Ursaluna. Sludge Wave hits Pokemon like Hydrapple and Latios, which would otherwise take Thundurus-T's other attacks. Tera Steel flips the matchup against Rock-, Dragon-, and Ice-types such as the Tyranitar, Hydrapple, and Mamoswine, allowing Thundurus-T to reliably KO them as well as providing an immunity to Toxic. Tornadus-T, Lokix, and Slowking are all great partners for Thundurus-T, as they all bring it in safely; the former two also check faster threats such as Greninja and Latios, while the latter is a slow pivot for Thundurus-T and provides Future Sight support.

(I’d like to see you reword it to show how the coverage/higher spa lets it differentiate from Zapdos) Focus Blast is valuable coverage into Steel-, Rock-, and Ground-types like Excadrill, Hisuian Goodra, Rhyperior, Ursaluna, and Ogerpon-C and Cobalion. Sludge Wave hits Pokemon like Hydrapple and Latios who would otherwise take Thundurus-T's other attacks. Tera Steel flips the matchup against Rock- and Ice-types such as the Tyranitar and Mamoswine, allows Thundurus-T to reliably KO them as well as providing an immunity to Toxic. (Dragon resist is important as well) Even with its high Special Attack, Thundurus-T can find itself struggling against certain Special Walls like Assault Vest Iron Crown and Terastalized Tyranitar , so checks to these threats like Excadrill and Mamoswine make good partners. Other pivots like Greninja, Rotom-W, and Sandy Shocks makes a good pivot core with Thundurus-T. (you can flesh out this better rather than the breaking through special walls) bring up torn lokix and slowking as good pivots that can bring it in, with the first two checking faster mons and slowking having the slow pivot and future sight)
