[SET COMMENTS]
Thwackey is a staple on Terrain teams thanks to its ability Grassy Surge. Under Grassy Terrain, Grassy Glide becomes a powerful priority move that lets Thwackey threaten foes such as Basculin and Silvally-Ground and revenge kill weakened foes such as Cinccino and Rotom. Knock Off cripples switch-ins such as Garbodor, Tangela, and Centiskorch. U-turn can be used to pivot from the aforementioned Knock Off targets while also serving as a way to safely bring in setup sweepers to take advantage of Grassy Terrain. Terrain Extender is preferred to prolong Grassy Terrain turns for Thwackey's teammates, although Choice Band can be used to turn Thwackey into a formidable offensive threat.

Partners such as Grassy Seed Swoobat and Thievul benefit from Thwackey setting Grassy Terrain to activate their item and threatening their checks such as Manectric and Carbink; in return, they can take advantage of Thwackey's checks such as Garbodor to set up and sweep. Water-types such as Poliwrath and Qwilfish are good partners, handling problematic Fire-types like Centiskorch and Rapidash and weakening shared checks in opposing Grass-types. Thwackey can form VoltTurn cores with Pokemon such as Rotom and Magneton, helping it pressure physical walls like Cofagrigus and Alolan Persian; these VoltTurn cores are also appreciated by slow wallbreakers like Clawitzer, which can run Terrain Pulse, and Centiskorch that can also pressure these walls. In particular, Magneton is a great partner, pressuring foes such as Articuno, Rotom-S, and Altaria that are problematic for Grassy Terrain teams; in return, it benefits from Thwackey threatening Silvally-Ground and changing Galarian Stunfisk's typing with Grassy Terrain. Grassy Glide users such as Flapple, Trevenant, and Gourgeist-S also complement Thwackey, but it should be wary of spamming Knock Off that stops Poltergeist from the latter two.

An Adamant nature provides better damage output, but it leaves Thwackey outsped by foes such as Magneton. Acrobatics allows Thwackey to threaten opposing Grass-types like Tangela and Appletun. Thwackey can turn itself into a setup sweeper with Grassy Seed, giving it a decent one-time setup opportunity and empowering its Acrobatics. Swords Dance can be used to turn Thwackey into a fearsome offensive threat without the negative of being Choice locked.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Centiskorch and Rapidash can shrug off Thwackey's attacks and threaten to OHKO it.

**Grass-types**: Although they do not appreciate Knock Off or U-turn, Grass-types like Ferroseed, Gourgeist-S, and Tangela are able to take hits from Thwackey.

**Defog**: Common Defoggers like Articuno, Rotom-S, and Altaria can threaten Thwackey and also remove Grassy Terrain, limiting the opportunities for Thwackey's partners to take advatange of it to set up.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls like Cofagrigus, Garbodor, and Altaria can take Grookey's Grass-type STAB moves and force it out; however, they should be wary of Knock Off.

Thwackey is a staple on Terrain teams thanks to its good movepool and ability Grassy Surge that provide great utility to its teammates. Under Grassy Terrain, Grassy Glide becomes a powerful priority that lets Thwackey threaten foes such as Rhydon, Lycanroc, and Palossand and revenge kill weakened foes. Knock Off cripples switch-ins such as Garbodor, Tangela, and Centiskorch. Wood Hammer is Thwackey's strongest move, and it completely devastates opposing Water- and Ground-types. Fluff U-turn can be used to pivot from the aforementioned Knock Off targets while serving as a way to safely bring in setup sweepers to take advantage of Grassy Terrain. Terrain Extender is preferred for its ability to prolong Grassy Terrain turns for Thwackey's teammates, although Choice Band can be used to turn Thwackey into a formidable offensive threat.

Partners such as Grassy Seed Swoobat and Thievul benefit from Thwackey setting Grassy Terrain to activate their item and threatening their checks such as Lycanroc and Carbink, respectively; in return, they can take advantage of Thwackey's checks such as Garbodor to set up and sweep. Water-types such as Poliwrath and Qwilfish are good partners, handling problematic Fire-types like Centiskorch and Rapidash and weakening shared checks in opposing Grass-types. Thwackey can also form VoltTurn cores with Pokemon such as Rotom and Magneton, helping it pressure physical walls like Cofagrigus and Alolan Persian; these VoltTurn cores are also appreciated by slow wallbreakers like Clawitzer (mention this one can run Terrain Pulse when paired with Thwackey) and Centiskorch that can also pressure these walls. You forgot to talk about Grassy Glide abusers (Flapple, Trevenant, Gourg-S), don't forget to mention that using the later two makes Thwackey think twice before clicking Knock Off on grass-resists.

Thwackey can turn itself into a setup sweeper with Grassy Seed and Swords Dance, giving it a decent one-time setup opportunity and enabling it to become a fearsome offensive threat. Acrobatics allows Thwackey to threaten opposing Grass-types such as ..., but it is very weak and requires Thwackey to lose its item to do substantial damage. I'd make Grassy Seed a separated point from SD, as even if the former requires the later, the later can be ran with other item like Eviolite and Terrain Extander.

Checks and Counters

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Centiskorch and Rapidash can shrug off Thwackey's attacks and threaten to OHKO it.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls like Cofagrigus, Garbodor, and Altaria can take Grookey's Grass STAB moves and force it out; however, they should be wary of Knock Off.

**Defog** this removes terrain and threatens therefore the archetype. Common defoggers like Rotom-S and Altaria even threaten thwackey.

**(Mention here Adamant Nature as an option over Jolly.) Acrobatics allows Thwackey to threaten opposing Grass-types like Tangela and Appletun, but it is very weak and requires Thwackey to lose its item to do substantial damage. (You'd only run it with Grassy Seed so you would automatically have no item 99% of the time) Thwackey can turn itself into a setup sweeper with Grassy Seed, giving it a decent one-time setup opportunity and empowering its Acrobatics. Swords Dance can be used to turn Thwackey into a fearsome offensive threat without the negative of being Choice locked.

Elaborate on how Magneton pressures mons like Articuno, Altaria, and Rotom-S to that are problematic for Grassy Terrain Teams. In return, Thwackey is able to pressure Ground-types like Silvally-Ground and even remove Galarain Stunfisk's Ground-typing with Terrain because of Mimicry. I feel like this interaction is very important to be mentioned because it eliminates Magneton's best counter. Grassy Glide users such as Flapple, Trevenant, and Gourgeist-S also complement Thwackey, but it should be wary of spamming Knock Off that stops Poltergeist from the latter two.
