[OVERVIEW]

* Thanks to its naturally high base stats and Vessel of Ruin, Ting-Lu is a strong tank Pokemon, able to tank most attacks in the format and retaliate with solid damage. Not only this, but thanks to its deep supportive movepool with options like Sand Tomb and more niche moves like Taunt, Ting-Lu works as a great bulky supportive option.

* Ting-Lu's main role is to abuse its bulk to stop common threats such as Landorus, Raging Bolt, and Iron Crown. Allies such as Dondozo and Gouging Fire heavily appreciate Ting-Lu's ability to suppress opposing Special Attackers, patching up their rather mediocre Special Defense. Dondozo in particular is able to use Yawn in combination with Ting-Lu's Sand Tomb to force sleep foes.

* Ting-Lu's typing does, however, leave it vulnerable to some of the most popular physial attackers in the format, being the Urshifu formes, the Ogerpon formes, Chien-Pao, and Rillaboom. Allies such as Sinistcha can switch into and redirect these attacks away from Ting-Lu, while Gouging Fire can use Breaking Swipe to lower the opponent's offensive prowess. Dondozo also helps here, soaking up physical attacks easily and punishing most of them with Rocky Helmet.

* Ting-Lu can tend to struggle with its field presence, being easily ignorable by many foes when using more supportive sets. Its attack stat is rather underwhelming too, being easily hindered further by Incineroar and Landorus-T. Allies with Coaching and Howl, namely Galarian Zapdos and Gouging Fire, can help boost Ting-Lu's attack, making it harder to ignore. Options like Ruination and Body Press also help, dealing large chunks of damage and using Ting-Lu's high defense stat, respectively.

[SET]
Bulky Attacker (Ting-Lu) @ Clear Amulet
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Level: 50
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 4 HP / 204 Atk / 252 Def / 44 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Throat Chop / Heavy Slam
- Tera Blast
- Protect

[SET COMMENTS]

* Clear Amulet Ting-Lu aims to be a tank, sitting in front of many Pokemon such as Landorus and Raging Bolt while firing back with strong attacks, racking up damage throughout the course of a battle.

* Earthquake is used for maximum damage, synergizing well with Clear Amulet Ting-Lu's common partners, Galarian Zapdos, Sinistcha, and Dragonite. Throat Chop is a good STAB option that prevents sound based moves such as Hyper Voice from Ursaluna-B and Fargiraf, meanwhile Heavy Slam can be used to target down Flutter Mane. Tera Blast with Tera Poison hits the common Grass-types in this format, being Rillaboom, Ogerpon-W, and Ogerpon-H.

* Clear Amulet prevents Intimidate drops from Incineroar as well as Breaking Swipe drops from Gouging Fire, ensuring that Ting-Lu remains powerful throughout the duration of the game. While more niche, ally Sinistcha running Strength Sap can use it on Ting-Lu and heal up for free, since Clear Amulet will prevent the Attack drop.

* After a boost from Coaching or Howl from Galarian Zapdos and Gouging Fire, respectively, Tera Poison Tera Blast will OHKO Rillaboom and the Ogerpon formes except for Ogerpon-C. Additionally, after the same boosts, Earthquake will 2HKO either Urshifu forme. The Defense investment allows Ting-Lu to live Wood Hammer from a max Attack Rillaboom, Tera Stellar or Tera Ice Icicle Crash from Adamant Chien-Pao, and gives Ting-Lu very high odds of surviving Overheat from Timid Choice Specs Chi-Yu.

* Tera Posion not only grants Ting-Lu a way to threaten Grass-type Pokemon with Tera Blast, but it also gives Ting-Lu resistances to Wood Hammer, Horn Leech, Close Combat, and Moonblast from Rillaboom, Ogerpon-W, the Urshifu formes, and Flutter Mane, respectively. Tera Poison does, however, make Ting-Lu weak to Landorus's Earth Power and Iron Crown's Expanding Force, so it is best to remove these threats before Terastallizing.

:sv/ting-lu:

correct me if im wrong but ting-lu already has an overview on the dex for reg f
(it does, it's pretty heavily outdated though. i would suggest rewriting the partners section here at the very least to include Sinistcha, as that's integral to a lot of Lu's success in the reg.)

(worth mentioning ruination/body press here since this is for more than just the clam set)
