Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Tera Type: Poison / Water
Careful Nature
- Ruination
- Earthquake
- Spikes / Rest
- Whirlwind / Sleep Talk

Ting-Lu is an absolute stalwart in the Special Defense slot as it's now able to hard check almost every special attacker such as Eternatus and Gholdengo. Spikes is a crucial entry hazard that Ting-Lu can easily set up thanks to tanking multiple hits while doing so. Whirlwind allows Ting-Lu to not only be setup fodder, but also rack up chip damage once even one layer of Spikes has been set. Rest is a fantastic alternative as it is Ting-Lu's only form of recovery and can be a solid option alongside Sleep Talk should the team have entry hazards elsewhere. Tera Poison pairs extremely well with Ting-Lu's original typing as it gains a resist to Fairy-, Bug-, and Fighting-type moves while also being worn down from being Poisoned while Tera Water helps ease the Sun and Rain matchups that Ting-Lu may otherwise struggle with.

Ting-Lu is solely fitting in Special Defense slots on teams as most of the bigger Special Defense donations from the likes of Arceus formes or Zacian-C allow Ting-Lu to leverage its ability and typing to the absolute fullest. Other entry hazard setters such as Clefable, Landorus-T, and Skarmory allow Ting-Lu to have a bit more freedom should it opt for RestTalk over its own Spikes; however, they do form a fantastic entry hazard stacking core should Ting-Lu opt into running Spikes. Pokemon that can apply heavy offensive pressure such as Hisuian Electrode and Gholdengo appreciate the Spikes that Ting-Lu can reliably set as they can easily rack up chip damage agains the opponent. Spin blockers such as the aforementioned Gholdengo and Sinistcha are fantastic partners as they can ensure the Spikes Ting-Lu sets up are not removed. Lastly, Knock Off users such as Clefable and Tornadus-T can rid the opponent of their Heavy-Duty Boots to stack the chip damage that Spikes can provide.

EQ should prolly be slashed first, also maybe fix the order you mention the moves in the paragraph. ig eq and ruination explanations are more dex info but maybe u can still mention a little up to u i might be wrong

Whirlwind can also be used over Ruination in conjunction with Rest and Sleep Talk as a means for Ting-Lu to still provide phazing to the team and not be setup fodder. explain tera poison

Pivots such as Rotom-W and Hisuian Electrode appreciate the Spikes that Ting-Lu can easily set as they can apply pressure to rack up chip damage. dont really agree with this since it's not a pivot thing, its just an offensive pressure thing like any breaker/sweeper/offensive pivot. if u want to keep it, 100% at least remove washtom, it's a defensive pivot it doesnt force switches as much as like almost any other pokemon. Spin blockers such as Gholdengo and Sinistcha are fantastic partners as they can ensure the Spikes Ting-Lu sets up are not removed. Ting-Lu is solely fitting in Special Defense slots on teams as most of the bigger Special Defense donations from the likes of Arceus formes or Zacian-C allow Ting-Lu to leverage its ability and typing to the absolute fullest. Other entry hazard setters such as Clefable and Skarmory could keep skarm but I actually like mentioning lando-t instead, as it + lu form a good stacking core on offensive teams, since otherwise this analysis gives the impression that lu only works on fat builds while in reality it's just as good, if not better, on offensive bulky offense builds allow Ting-Lu to have a bit more freedom should it opt for RestTalk over its own Spikes. mention that they alternatively set rocks, so that the team has easy access to both hazards, if the player wants to go down a hazard stacking route Pokemon that can apply heavy offensive pressure such as Hisuian Electrode and Calyrex-I would prolly say like darkrai or gholdengo instead, since a lot of the mons that naturally check caly-i such as washtom, skarm and boots dozo, don't care about spikes appreciate the Spikes that Ting-Lu can reliably set as they can easily rack up chip damage agains the opponent. Spin blockers such as Gholdengo and Sinistcha are fantastic partners as they can ensure the Spikes Ting-Lu sets up are not removed.
