Eh a bucket is close enough to a bowl right?

[SET]
Stealth Rock Support (Ting-Lu) @ Sitrus Berry / Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Level: 50
Tera Type: Poison / Fairy / Water / Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish / Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Whirlwind / Ruination
- Ruination / Heavy Slam / Taunt / Fissure

[SET COMMENTS]

* Ting-Lu's absurd bulk and excellent support movepool make it the premier Stealth Rock setter in the metagame!

* **Ruination**: Ruination gives Ting-Lu the most consistent option for damage output, without resorting to offensive investment.

* **Heavy Slam**: Heavy Slam deals serious damage to Fairy-types, with Flutter Mane in particular needing a huge amount of defensive investment to avoid being OHKOed by it.

* **Fissure**: Fissure lets Ting-Lu potentially punish passive Pokemon without Substitute, such as Toxapex.

* **Taunt**: While Ting-Lu's Speed is awful compared to most Taunt users, using Taunt against foes like Corviknight on the switch is still useful. Note that while using Taunt against Toxapex can be useful, it is highly likely to run Mental Herb, which risks getting Ting-Lu poisoned.

Other Options
========

* **Spikes**: Getting Stealth Rock and Spikes together makes Whirlwind a very effective damage dealing tool, in addition to supporting other offensive Pokemon. However, it can be difficult to set up without compromising Ting-Lu's damage output.

Tera Types
=======

* **Tera Dependency - Medium**: Even with Ting-Lu's fantastic bulk, Terastallization greatly increases the amount of Pokemon it can beat one-on-one, such as Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle.

* **Poison**: Tera Poison gives Ting-Lu an important resistance to Fairy and Fighting, and it lets it absorb Toxic Spikes.

* **Fairy**: In addition to a useful Fighting resistance, Tera Fairy helps Ting-Lu against powerful Dragon-types like Choice Band Dragonite and Garchomp.

* **Water**: With Tera Water, Ting-Lu has a better matchup against Azumarill and Chi-Yu.

* **Steel**: Tera Steel retaining a Fighting weakness is unfortunate, but in exchange, Heavy Slam will OHKO even most bulky Flutter Mane, and it gives Ting-Lu a good matchup against Iron Bundle.

* **Grass**: Tera Grass is Ting-Lu's best bet against Breloom and Amoonguss's Spore, and it provides aid against Azumarill and Rotom-W.

Items
======

* **Sitrus Berry versus Leftovers**: Ting-Lu's lack of reliable recovery usually makes Sitrus Berry the most reliable method of surviving an extra attack. Sitrus Berry is a high value enough item where Leftovers is a good alternative.

* **Mental Herb**: Mental Herb can be used to nullify one use of Taunt or Encore, which Ting-Lu is fairly vulnerable to, at the cost of reducing its lifespan with a lack of any recovery.

EV Spreads
========

* **Maximum Physical Defense versus Maximum Special Defense**: Specializing in one defensive stat depends on which threats Ting-Lu needs to handle, with physically defensive variants preforming better against threats like Dragonite, Garchomp, and Kingambit, and when Terastallized, Chien-Pao, Azumarill, and Baxcalibur. For specially defensive variants, major targets include Gholdengo and Iron Moth, and when Terastallized, Flutter Mane, Iron Bundle, and Chi-Yu.

* **44 HP / 252 Def / 212 SpD with Careful**: This EV spread is optimized for use with Sitrus Berry, letting Ting-Lu avoid a 2HKO from Choice Band Dragonite's Outrage, and Timid Tera Fairy Flutter Mane's Moonblast when Terastallized to a neutral typing.

* **212 HP / 148 Def / 148 SpD with Impish**: This EV spread avoids a 2HKO from Choice Band Dragonite's Outrage if Ting-Lu holds Leftovers.

[SET]
Assault Vest (Ting-Lu) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy / Ground / Water / Poison
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ruination
- Payback / Throat Chop
- Heavy Slam / Tera Blast / Fissure

[SET COMMENTS]

* Assault Vest and Vessel of Ruin combine to make Ting-Lu an especially formidable tank.

* **Payback versus Throat Chop**: Payback will usually deal more damage thanks to how slow Ting-Lu is, but Throat Chop will punish Pokemon that switch in more.

* **Heavy Slam**: Heavy Slam deals far more damage to Flutter Mane and Mimikyu than any other attack, with even Bold Flutter Mane having a good shot at being OHKOed after Stealth Rock damage.

* **Fissure**: Fissure is Ting-Lu's best shot at KOing bulky foes like Dondozo.

* **EV Spread**: The given EV spread maximizes Ting-Lu's Attack and special bulk.

Tera Types
========

* **Tera Dependency - High**: While Ting-Lu doesn't need Terastallization to function, it makes it far more effective at beating a wide variety of Pokemon one-on-one.

* **Fairy**: Tera Fairy not only helps Ting-Lu against powerful Dragon- and Fighting-type attacks, but it also gives Ting-Lu a good Tera Blast to hit Dragonite with.

* **Ground **: Besides getting rid of its troublesome Fairy and Fighting weaknesses, Tera Ground gives Ting-Lu more offensive presence with Earthquake.

* **Water**: Tera Water is not only a fantastic defensive typing, but it also lets Ting-Lu avoid a 2HKO from Tera Fire Choice Specs Chi-Yu's Overheat.

* **Poison**: Tera Poison gives Ting-Lu a vital Fairy resistance against Flutter Mane and Mimikyu, and it lets it absorb the dreaded Toxic Spikes.

* **Grass**: Tera Grass improves the matchup against Azumarill and Rotom-W, in addition to making Ting-Lu immune to Spore from Breloom and Brute Bonnet.

* **Electric**: Tera Electric's resistances aren't amazing, but they give Ting-Lu a sole weakness to Ground and a useful Tera Blast to wear down Dondozo and Corviknight.

* **Steel**: Tera Steel gives Ting-Lu a powerful STAB Heavy Slam, giving it a great matchup against Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle.

Got this ready for a check! Just a few things on my mind

- I saw an EV spread of 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 SpD Adamant for Assault Vest flying around twitter, is there something this does specifically better than Max SpD? I wasn't able to find it in the calcs, but maybe there was something I'm missing...

- If there's more EV spreads for the first set, I think I will divide them up into Sitrus Berry and Leftovers sections, since those two items may lead to different EV optimizations for Ting-Lu.

Butch Hardnight highlighting you specifically for EVs because you're an expert on this kind of stuff lol. Let me know if you aren't comfortable with checking this outside of EVs though so I'll grab another person to do the non EV parts!

Wow very thorough. I think on AV Ruination being a main option deserves a bullet on why. Cause you're giving up a rock move, say tomb or stone edge, for a move that seems geared towards a defensively invested set.

OK this is ready for GP to check it! Just note I'm using the new credits format chaos implemented yesterday!
