To TR or not to TR...

Well, that's not actually the question. I do indeed plan on TRing! I just need a hefty bit of help, and I thank you all dearly for it! BY THE WAY. This is for Double Battles, mainly!

Hi there!

Now, before you tear me a new one please know that I've always been interested in competitive pokemon battles and I've always wanted to put the effort into learning a competitive team, but until now I've never actually done so... I have a general knowledge of the moves, the natures/evs and what not, but I may miss some things as I'm not advanced in competitive battling and I've actually never done so.

I had a Speed EV'd team a long while back and loved it, until a RL friend of mine whooped my butt with his TR team over and over and over... It inspired me, now, a few years later I'm ready to try it out myself.

Now that we got that out of the way, this is the Trick Room team I had planned.

"Lint"
Whimsicott(F)@Focus Sash
Name: Trick Roomer/Support
Ability: Prankster
Nature: Timid (+Speed -Atk)
- Taunt
- Mega Drain (?)
- Leech Seed
- Trick room

The fast Support/TR pokemon. I hoped to put Whimsicott out with Emboar in the beginning, in case I'm faced off with a water/ground/rock etc type that could end up being trouble for Emboar. Whimsicott is fast, so hopefully it could eliminate or severely hinder the problem while Emboar protects/switches out, before the TR. I thought about putting Endeavor(to use with the FS) on this Pokemon, but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

"Booger"
Reuniclus(F)@Life orb
Name: Trick Room/Special Sweeper
Ability: Overcoat
Nature: Modest (+SpA - Atk)
- Trick room
- Shadow ball
- Psychic
- Protect (?)

My Trick Room/Special Sweeper. I'm not so sure about Protect. Any suggestions on something better? I'd also like to point out that I got lucky and got a shiny modest Solosis, and although I know this may not be the best nature/ability, I'll be using this pokemon anyway.

"Zombro"
Slowbro(M)@Leftovers
Tank/TR
Ability: Own Tempo
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spd)
- Calm Mind
- Trick Room
- Slack Off
- Surf

Basically my Tank/Wall Trick Roomer. He's here to keep the TR rolling and to stay alive, and tell cool stories, bro.

"Truffles"
Emboar(F)@Life Orb/Leftovers
Physical Sweeper
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Brave (+Atk - Spd)
- Flare Blitz
- Hammer Arm
- Rock Slide
- Protect / Wild Charge

My main Physical Sweeper/Damage inflicter. I've always adored Emboar, so I'm happy to find some use for one. It's pretty self explanatory. Most of the EVs will go into Attack/HP.

"Stoneface"
Gigalith(M)@Normal Gem (thanks for the suggestion!)
Physical Sweeper/Panic Button (Boom!)
Nature: Brave (+Atk -Spd)
Ability: Sturdy
-Stone edge
-Earthquake
-Explosion
-Stealth Rock

Again, self explanatory. He's here to take pokemon out and if things look grim, he can always a'splode. Has Stealth Rock to annoy. Probably best paired with Eelektross, since it's Levitate will make Earthquake awesome.

"Fleischer"
Eelektross(F)@Electric Gem
Name: Mixed Sweeper
Nature: Quiet (perhaps?)
Ability: Levitate
-U-Turn
-Flamethrower (good bye Ferrothorn)
-Crunch
-Dragon Claw

Eelektross will be there for those pesky dragon types. I would have liked to have an Ice type attack, but I'm not sure what to replace for HP Ice.

I'm not so sure about the EVs, I used a lot of reference from other teams and the such to come up with this one, so feel free to tear it to pieces. I didn't want to go for the usual "Cookie Cutter" TR team, I'm tired of seeing the same set up over and over again... Even though that means it's sure to work, I'd like to make it work with Pokemon I enjoy using.

AGAIN. This is very rough and I'm open to all constructive suggestions. :3 Thankies!

Nice team youv'e got there, id recommend putting a Normal Gem on Gigalith since explosion got nerfed in 5th gen. Normal Gem gives it the much needed boost, On Emboar, Life Orb works well for the Hit Hard - Die Hard sweeper, Leftovers / Sitrus Berry would work well as well to regain a bit of HP Lost from Flare Blitz and Wild Bolt. I recommend giving Emboar it's Dream World ability in conjunction with Wild Bolt and Flare Blitz, but if this is not possible for you then dont worry.

Mm, yeah! Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely go with the Normal Gem on Gigalith.

I'm not 100% sure on how to get the DW abilities on certain Pokemon, but I'll do some research and see what I can do. Emboar's DW ability is very tasty.

Nice team you have there! It should do very well, I just have one tip for you. You said you wanted HP ice or an ice move, so why not put HP ice on Reniculus? I would do that so Reniculus can sweep the odd dragon or grass type.

Have you tried this set for Whimsicott?

Whimsicott@Choice Scarf
ability: Prankster
evs: boost defenses as much as possible
nature: again, defenses
move 1: Switcheroo
move 2: Trick Room
move 3: Taunt
move 4: filler

it screws up walls, and slow opponents so they almost always go last.

dude... Magic Guard is by far the best ability for Reuniclus

Replace Emboar with SD Rhyperior, it does crazy damage in TR.

Change the nature of Reuniclus with Quiet.

Stoneface could be replaced with a special tank, try a Specially Defensive Porygon2:

Porygon2@Eviolite
nature: Sassy
evs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Recover
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Thunderbolt

replace Dragon Claw with HP Ice on Eelektross, it hits most Dragon-types for better damage.
