Togekiss @ Babiri Berry
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Flamethrower
- Roost
Togekiss can hit several UU staples, such as Infernape and Kommo-o, with its powerful STAB Air Slash especially when boosted, which is even more useful due to the small number of Flying-resistant Pokemon available. Its typing is also extremely beneficial, enabling it to switch into top-tier threats such as Hydreigon and Hippowdon over the course of a match. This set can lure in common Steel-types, particularly Scizor, survive a hit from them due to Babiri Berry, and KO them in return with Flamethrower or use the turn to boost with Nasty Plot to deal with slower, bulkier Steel-types like Mega Aggron. Due to Togekiss's ability to lure in and remove several Steel-types, it pairs well with Dragon-type sweepers like Latias, which are able to use their STAB moves more freely as a result. This set is reliant on an item to survive a hit, so it lacks passive recovery and as such can be worn down quickly; this can be alleviated by entry hazard removers such as Empoleon and Tentacruel helping Togekiss switch in more easily without being chipped. Togekiss also struggles to deal with Rock-type Pokemon like Nihilego, so pairing it with a solid Ground-type such as Krookodile can help break through them.
