Tornado Of Souls (Sandstorm OU RMT)

Tornado Of Souls

This is a sandstorm team. I have been testing lots of pokemon in order to create a good team. Wish Vaporeon, Calm Mind Jirachi, Rock Polish Aggron, Tentacruel, Hippowdon, and many others have been tested. Finally, I get this team:

Beggining with the tornado....

Gliscor @Leftovers
252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spe
Sand Veil
Impish Nature
  • Stealth Rock
  • Taunt
  • Earthquake
  • Roost
Gliscor fits on my team thanks to sand veil trait and a nice synergy with the rest of my team. Aditionally, I chose Gliscor because of taunt; a great move useful to stop other leads to set up. Aerodactyl was considered in a first time because they share a similar job, but it lacks bulkyness, and at the same time, Swampert was in mind, speccially because roar could be useful in my team.
I need a reliable lucario counter in my team. Besides my Gyarados, they do a great job countering strong fighting menaces. Ground-typing offers nice resistances pared with flying-type. Roost allows Gliscor to heal itself and Earthquake for STAB.

Gyarados @Leftovers
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
  • Waterfall
  • Thunderwave
  • Rest
  • Sleep Talk
Rest-Talk Gyara, ready to defend my team against physical assaults. Thunderwave is my newest addition in this set, mainly to throw status against everywhere but ground types that fear waterfall anyways. In addition, Waterfall + Thunderwave offers nice paraflinching hax. Rest + Sleep talk offer recovery through everything, including sandstorm.
Vaporeon was tested in this niche, but it lacks of offensive, something that gyarados has..I'm testing with different pokes, but Gyarados has been succesful in this slot.

Tyranitar @Leftovers
252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe
Quiet Nature
  • Substitute
  • Focus Punch
  • Ice Beam / Dark Pulse
  • Flamethrower
Tyraniboah! yeah ready tu lure nasty things. An excelent wall-breaker, saying hello to Skarmbliss and Stall mainly. Behind a substitute, this tyranitar is safe against other theats, such as Skarmory, Scizor, Forretress, all of then being impacted by a Flamethrower.
Focus Punch dents blissey and other fragile threats such as Infernape and Lucario, both common tyranitar counters.
Ice beam hits everything Focus Punch can`t, like flyers and dragons. Dark Pulse has special mention here, because of STAB and able to hit Celebi and Gengar, but I cannot decide which is the best option.

Latias @Choice Specs
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
  • Draco Meteor
  • Thunderbolt
  • Surf
  • Trick
My Special hitter. I tested choice scarf before, but it lacked of power, so this specs latias is full of it, making big holes into the opponent's team.
Latias offers nice sinergy, resisting fighting, fire, electric, and many other types.
Trick is to cripple slow, powerful things like suicune or bronzong. Thunderbolt + Surf offers nice coverage. Sometimes I miss Choice Scarf, mainly to revenge kill some speedy things, but I think Latias may take some hits and kill them with raw power. Latias is an answer against Jolteon too.

Scizor @Choice Band
248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamand Nature
Technician
  • Bullet Punch
  • Pursuit
  • Superpower
  • U-Turn
I need a trapper in my team. A steel type pokemon is always welcomed. With just one weakenesess (covered by the mayority of my team) Scizor takes the job. Metagross and Choice Banded Tyranitar were tested, but they lack of Priority, something that my team needs desperetly thanks to stealth rock + sand storm.
U-turn is one of my favourite moves ever, mataining the team's tempo and escaping from steel-trappers. Pursuit mainly for Starmie, a constant threat in my team.

The Final Strike....

Lucario @Life Orb
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 Def
Adamant Nature
Inner Focus
  • Swords Dance
  • Close Combat
  • Extremespeed
  • Stone Edge
My late game sweeper and sometimes..a nice wall breaker. After a single Sword Dance, this thing is one of the most powerful sweepers in the OU environment. I chose Stone Edge to have a good answer against gyarados and salamence, which are constantly coming into Lucario.
After Sand Storm and Stealth Rock damage, Sword Dance lucario is a deadly machine, able to kill almost everyting.
I chose Adamant Nature because of power. Sometimes I put Jolly nature just to test what happen, but it fails to kill things with that nature..so finally I decided to put Adamant instead of Jolly.

That's all...I hope the best suggestions here..any critic/comment is always welcomed..cheers!

You are slightly Gyarados weak, if it gets a DD, quite a bit of things will be KOed by it. You can either kinda revamp the team or just change back to Choice Scarf Latias. Latias effectively revenges/checks Gyarados as well as some other things that can pose a bit of trouble if they set up, mainly Dragon Dance Salamence (what team isn't weak to it). With the team more Physically based, I don't really see why you'd need such a special hitter when you can just kill and sweep most things, and the pay off of scarfing Latias is much better than whatever specs Latias can do imo, helping saving your team against opposing Gyarados sweeps.

Rest-talk Gyarados would be so much better with Dragon Dance over Thunderwave. Even Roar if you want to keep it defensive. Gyarados has plenty of Synergy with Tyranitar and Lucario, and I really don't see the use for Thunderwave anyway besides paralyzing things you can most likely set up on. The thing that can really stop this version is Vaporeon and Suicune and faster things like scarf Rotom, but with Scizor, Latias, Lucario, and sometimes Tyranitar, that shouldn't be too much of a problem to get rid them.

I recommend changing Tyranitar to a Choice Band version. The reason behind this is: Rotom (scarf or defensive) really troubles your team, mainly preventing Scizor, Lucario, Gyarados, and your current Tyranitar from doing its job. Tyranitar can effectively remove Rotom as well as many other Scarfers that trouble Gyarados and Lucario. Most teams only rely on those scarfers to deal with Gyarados, Lucario, Salamence, etc... so getting rid of them is a + for this team's overall purpose. With those scarfers and things out of the way, Gyarados and Lucario will have less things that can stop them, helping you sweep their team. 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SpD, Careful, with the item Choice Scarf, and the moves: Pursuit, Stone Edge, Crunch, and Earthquake would probably be the best choice of set here, although you are free to use any choice band set you desire, just have pursuit on it to get rid of those speedy things Gyarados and Lucario hate.

Good team btw, and good luck!

thanks joshe. I've tested Choice Scarf Latias before. I've never had problems with DD Gyrarados, because my own gyara can face it, maybe they lacked of stone edge to hurt my gyara..I will test Choice Scarf Latias again and see what happen. Dragon dance on Gyara sounds a very good option, I always love to paralyze opponents, but more offense sounds good also.
My only fear on tyranitar being choice banded is to be shattered by will-o-wisp (speccially from rotom). Anyways I will test it. Thanks for your rate. I really appreciate your comments.
Any other suggestion???
