SS OU Tornadus and Slowbro Regen Combo (First attempt at team building)

80-0.png

Slowbro @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Slack Off
- Future Sight
- Scald
- Teleport

Slowbro is a physical tank able to wall a lot of the pokemon hits hard physically and especially punishes the use of contact moves with rocky helmet. Slowbro can also teleport out to give a safer switch to pokemon such as Cinderace and Zarude who are generally more fragile. However, the special defense for Slowbro leaves a lot to be desired so that's where its partner AV Tornadus comes in.

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- Knock Off
- Hurricane
- U-turn

Tornadus is a fast and bulky pivot who with the access of Assault Vest can fend off many of the special attackers thanks to its newfound special defense. Heat Wave is used so that it won't allow Ferrothorn to switch it as easily along with a less risky OHKO on Kartana due to the 70% accuracy on Hurricane. Knock Off will ensure that pokemon trying to switch-in to wall Tornadus will have their Leftovers or Heavy Duty Boots removed.

Zarude @ Leftovers
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Darkest Lariat
- Power Whip
- Jungle Healing

Zarude was chosen because it is able to switch in and kill Scarf Spectrier, when building this team I realized that it could be swept by Scarf Spectrier if it got a kill or if the special tanks on this team are hurt. So I decided the put in Zarude since I needed a grass type in this team. Zarude can switch-in to walls for free and set up using Bulk Up and heal off status and damage with Jungle Healing.

Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 40 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Roost
- Defog

Zapdos is a very important pokemon on this team as it is the only form of hazard control, without it AV Tornadus will have a hard time switching-in to attacks due to the 25% damage from stealth rocks. Zapdos is also good for checking physical attackers and punishing the use of contact moves. Zapdos can also cripple pokemon using Discharge with a 30% chance of paralysis.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Flip Turn
- Earthquake
- Toxic

Swampert is the go-to lead for this team, it can safely setup rocks on most of the pokemon due to its impressive bulk. Toxic will significantly weaken the affected pokemon and will make it a lot easier for Cinderace to get a KO. Using Flip Turn it will allow a free switch-in for its less bulky teammates. Damp allows Swampert to completely counter Regieleki due to its ground typing and immunity to Explosion.

Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- U-turn
- High Jump Kick
- Sucker Punch

Cinderace is fast and able to hit hard thanks to Libero granting it STAB for all of its attacks. Sucker Punch allows it to potentially OHKO Scarf Spectrier and pick off other severely weakened pokemon. Pyro Ball and High Jump Kick are standard moves being able to hit many pokemon hard. U-turn is good for maintaining momentum when Cinderace is not in a favorable match-up.

Any Feedbacks for this Team is much Appreciated

A couple changes:
  • Switch Tornadus-Therian's Assault Vest to Heavy-Duty Boots. AV Torn-T is a relic of the past where there was no such thing as Heavy-Duty Boots. Now with these, Tornadus may not be able to switch in to as much but it becomes this unwallable, undying abomination, and while rocks are up AV Torn-T only heals 5% every time it switches. Spdef Swampert is a fine Spdef wall for this team anyways.
  • To go along with the above change, change Torn-T's moveset to Nasty Plot - Hurricane - Focus Blast - Heat Wave (an alternative moveset is Hurricane - Knock Off - Heat Wave - U-turn to fit the pivoting theme of this team). This allows it to pose a huge threat to the opposing team offensively.
  • Additionally, change Torn-T's EVs to Max Special Attack instead of Max HP.
  • Change High-Jump Kick or U-turn on Cinderace to Gunk Shot. With the improved version of Torn-T, your team does struggle slightly more against opposing Clefable, so being able to damage it huge even when there is not a future sight up is a pretty big boon.
