Rejected /transferauth command

As someone with too many namechanges, I sometimes feel bad that I need all my old auth ranks transferred and picking on a gadmin to help me do so. I think it would be helpful to bridge the gap between the /demote (old name) and /promote (new name) commands with a new command, that could look something like /transferauth (old username), (new username). This command could be exclusive to global admins globally (so it works across all rooms), and to room owners within a room. (/transferauth and /transferroomauth respectively, perhaps).

And before a snarky developer says 'just stop changing ur name lol' uhm no thank you id like my first amendment rights

I have considered this before, but ended up turning it down. Most namechanges are only a couple ranks at best, and are trivially done - authority swaps of magnitudes such that they would be truly tedious are rare, so I don't think it's worth the time required or the extra feature bloat.
