Hey, trapinch is definitely the oddest NFE in the game, with 100 base attack, 10 base speed, arena trap and a bizarre movepool. He's also the only NFE that I know of that learns any moves over, say, level 80, hey. There hasn't been a single analyses over this little guy, strangely enough, but if you wanted a dugtrio for your trick room team, here he is!
Physical Movepool:
Body Slam
Crunch
Dig
Double-edge
Earthquake
Facade
Feint
Flail
Frustration/Return
Fury Cutter
Natural Gift
Quick Attack
Rock Slide
Special Movepool: (this is wacky)
Earth Power
Giga Drain
Gust
Hidden Power
Solarbeam
Support:
Attract
Captivate
Focus Energy
Sandstorm
Sunny Day
Toxic
Not much to see here, and hey, do you really want a supporter with 45 base defences?
Trapinch - @Choice Band **Trick Room
+Atk, - Spd
252 Atk, Rest in HP and Defenses
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Crunch
-Quick Attack/Double Edge
Arena Trap, of course
Some limited options here, but you don't get any faster than this for trick room(Barring shuckle and munchlax)! Earthquake for STAB, obviously, Rock Slide pairs up well with earthquake, crunch for a lack of better options, quick attack in case you don't have trick room up or something. Before you scoff and go away, some quick calcs - Earthquake OHKOs Weavile, Alakazam, Ambipom and Metagross(Quite a lot more, too), does a number to standard garchomp, and 2HKOs Blissey without fail. (I'm just using random pokes for examples, by the way, but you get the point.) Rock Slide takes down Aerodactyl, 2HKOs Gyarados without intimidate, etc. Crunch... does not do much, but trapinch doesn't have much leeway with moves, and it can hit... claydol? XD Does a round on celebi, too. For anything that resists both earthquake and rock slide, double edge can nail it.
Trapinch@ Choice Specs/Leftovers **Special Sweeper?
+SpecAtk, -Spd
252 Spec, rest in Defenses and HP
-Earth Power
-Giga Drain/Solarbeam
-Gust/Sunny Day
-HP Ice or something...
If you really need a special sweeper on your trick room team... and don't care about winning or losing for some reason... Trapinch is the way to go! Giga Drain 2HKOs Swampert, or if you're brave you can Sunny Day and go for the 1HKO with solarbeam! (I'm sure your opponent WON'T try attacking you with swampert, either!) Earth Power comes close to OHKOing Metagross, but falls short... yeah, don't use this set. AquaSuicune would like to add that sunny day should not be used with choice specs.
Trapinch@ Choice Band **Bologopinch
+Atk, -Spd / +Atk, - SpA
252 HP, 200 Def, 56 Atk
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Crunch
-Quick Attack/Double Edge
Same movepool as the first one, different play. Works outside trick room teams as well as a revenge killer. In a trick room team, you can switch in on Metagross Meteor's Mash and KO with earthquake... switch in on any of Weavile's moves save ice punch, OHKO with EQ... switch in on blissey's twave and 2HKO with eq (granted, that works for the first set, too) All of these can work without trick room, as a revenge killing switch-in, but it's better to stick with dugtrio for that. The extra defense really helps, but the attack drop could be problematic. Being able to survive one EQ from unboosted garchomp is also worth a mention, as you could send it out in a trick room team after one of your pokes die and 2HKO it.
