[OVERVIEW]

Trapinch acts as the metagames trapper, consistently trapping valuable targets on most teams such as Swalot, Lickitung, and Dragonair. This allows it to support many prominent Pokemon in the tier such as Minun, Sealeo, and Charmeleon. Baton Pass is additionally a common sight in the tier with Pokemon such as Minun and Mawile using the move commonly allowing Trapinch to find many opportunities to trap the opposing teams Pokemon and facilitate its team mates. Due to its many applications, Trapinch is a common sight on many balance teams in the tier and additionally can be used as a lead to catch Minun not running Baton Pass off guard.

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band gives Trapinch a sizeable power boost that allows it to always OHKO Pokemon such as Swalot and allowing it to pick off faster Pokemon such as Minun at lower percents with priority. Earthquake is Trapinch's main STAB move dealing great damage into many Arena Trap targets. Rock Slide allows Trapinch to threaten Flying-type Pokemon such as Togetic. Hidden Power Ghost gives Trapinch a way of threatening Duskull. Quick Attack acts as priority allowing Trapinch trap and remove faster Pokemon late game such as Furret and Minun. EVs allow Trapinch to always live a hit from Minun's super effective coverage.

[SET]
name: Bulky Trapper
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Rock Slide
move 3: Hidden Power Ghost
move 4: Quick Attack
item: Leftovers
ability: Arena Trap
nature: Careful / Impish
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD or 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
A defensive spread of EV's allows Trapinch to trap more offensive targets depending on your EV spread such as Charmeleon, Magcargo, and Graveler with greater ease. Specially defensive EVs allow Trapinch to trap Pokemon like Minun not running Baton Pass, Swalot, and Seviper much more effectively as it is able to avoid a 2HKO or OHKO from these Pokemon. Physically defensive EVs can instead help Trapinch deal with Pokemon such as Arbok and Furret.

Other Options
=============

Trapinch does not deviate from these 4 moves as they are all Trapinch needs in its role.
