XY Ubers TrapPass Galore 420

Pass-Guarantee.gif

I was thinking about not releasing this, but I was just having too much fun to keep it to myself. Hopefully it takes the people on Showdown a little bit longer to catch on and learn how to (easily) counter this, because it's just so damn fulfilling. Just something I thought of, after trying to build a trapping team with Durant and realizing that Smeargle's movepool is OP. This team is very serious, and I have achieved over 1300 on an alt with it ;). It's not really optimal at all, so feel free to leave some critiques and REPLAYS if you get good ones. I'll put them on the OP.

Durant @ Focus Sash
Ability: Truant
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Entrainment
- Baton Pass
- Protect
- Hone Claws

Use Entrainment to transfer over Truant to their lead, unless it's Aegislash or somethin'. Truant makes it so they (you too) have to 'loaf around' every other turn, and do nothing on that turn. Focus Sash to live any hit, and Baton Pass / Protect / Hone Claws were just 'filler' moves I chose so it had 4 moves. Make sure that if you have something trapped, you do not use baton pass, because they can and will switch out after that, and then there goes your truant on them.

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Hone Claws
- Protect

Traps anyone besides those pesky ground-immune 'mons. Pro Strat: Get them truant, switch in Dugtrio, Hone Claws and Protect your way to +6 Att / Acc, while maintaining full health and having neutral coverage with EdgeQuake

Gothitelle @ Leftovers
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Protect
- Dark Pulse
- Psyshock / Substitute

Shadow Tag trapper just to have one honestly. Not being able to have Shadow Tag + Trick just kinda made me sad, and the fact that Gengar gets no good boosting moves just made me resort to this. If the team looks weak to Dark Pulse / Psyshock then switch into this after truancy.

Magnezone @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Double Team
- Iron Defense
- Protect

Magnet Pull trapper just to have one honestly. Kind of troll-y set, and walled completely by (sorta) common electric-immunity, but oh well.

OK, these next two pokes are the bread and butter of this team, Smeargle and Arceus.

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Mean Look
- Protect
- Shell Smash
- Baton Pass

My most ingenious creation, and the pinnacle of TrapPass. Durant passes truancy to their lead, Smeargle comes in, now you can go two ways. Mean Look and take a hit, or Protect, then Mean Look on the truant turn. Usually I just go straight for the Mean Look, unless I'm anticipating a U-Turn or status. Once the enemy lead is trapped, and truant, you're free to set up shell smashes, and protect your way to a nice +6 att, sp and sp. att. Before the next truant turn, Baton Pass into Arceus (who get's rid of Def / Sp. Def drops with White Herb) and go on a tear with +6 E.Killer

Arceus @ White Herb
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- ExtremeSpeed
- Shadow Claw
- Protect
- Earthquake

Already explained most of his usefulness in the last 'mon summary. Switch out Shadow Claw for Shadow Force if you're up to it. I feel like it's slightly harder to play around, because even with +6, the enemy can still play around you. (Sableye!!!!!!!!)

Umm the whole point of this gimmick should be using Scarf Durant with 0 IVs in defensive stats and hope they kill you. And I'm pretty sure you can't pass Mean Look since Gen 4.

So many flaws and not enough defensive core to stand against hyper offense teams. Xerneas, fairy Arceus , Stalltwo, Extremekiller, RestTalk Ogre, Darkrai, Mega-Blaziken, Mega-Gengar, Giratina all really can handle your team or atleast in my mind.

Well yeah it's a gimmick team but no specific pokemon even has to beat it, x just has to switch out turn 2 and it is gg.
