Trick Room Destruction

Ok so this is my second Gen V Rate My Team

I was wanting to make a new team after all the warstories I read. Trick Room got into my mind somewhere on the way and then I decided to make a Trick Room team. So here is the team I created, I hope you like it

TEAM BUILDING
1.
reuniclus-1.gif

At the very first I needed a relatively bulky pokemon that can set up my Trick Room and Sweep. After some searching I came up with Reuniclus, with its great 110/75/85 defenses and large 125 special attack paired up with a great Trick Room speed of 30 it was the perfect pokemon for my lead. I found a moveset of Trick Room (duh), Psychic, Focus Blast and Shadow Ball to be the most effective moveset for my Reuniclus. In the end Reuniclus obviously found it into my team.

2.
reuniclus-1.gif
589.gif

With my Trick Room up I needed a strong sweeper and one that resists Reuniclus's weaknesses (namely Ghost, Dark and Bug) and can hit hard. After a bunch of steel types popping up in my mind the best was a certain Bug/Steel pokemon, no not Scizor but Escavalier. I chose Escavalier over Scizor because of this (order is Scizor/Escavalier): HP 70/70, Attack 130/135, Defense 100/105, Sp.Defense 80/105 and Speed 65/20. As you can see Escavalier has better stats in everything except HP which it has the same in. Although stats aren't everything, Escavalier misses out on Technician and Bullet Punch which could help.

3.
reuniclus-1.gif

Now to really deal with steel types I chose Conkeldurr to screw up the likes of Excadrill, Magnezone, Ferrothorn and others. With massive base 140 Attack it can hit HARD and I mean really hard it OHKOs Bold 252/252 Ferrothorn with max attack and Life Orb using Superpower. It also has base 45 Speed to join my Trick Room team. Adding a strong physical powerhouse will help KOing a few of my opponents pokemon.

4.
reuniclus-1.gif

After all these attacking pokemon I thought i needed a defensive pokemon. At first I decided Slowbro but then i would have had 2 pokemon weak to Bug, Dark and Ghost. After Slowbro came Tangrowth but it double my Flying, Bug and Fire weaknesses. Then came Gliscor but it was too fast for a trick room team so I decided on Hippowdon another Ground type defensive pokemon with 47 base speed and 108/118/72 defenses. It fit perfectly in my team and could hit too.

Another defensive pokemon was chosen because of it's typing and stats. It was a great choice because it can survive a lot of hits but it back with Ice Punch, Earthquake, Waterfall or Hammer Arm. Hammer Arm is great in Trick Room because it acts as if it's giving my Swampert +1 speed not -1. Swampert has useable base 60 speed for Trick Room and decent base 110 Attack.

After all five pokemon were chosen I wanted one that could even everything out. I also wanted a Dragon type to help me in my team. With Crunch, Superpower, Outrage and Rock Slide it can wreak havoc. Why I chose it over other Dragon types was because of its good Trick Room speed of base 48, the ability Sheer Force Which boosts Crunch and Rock Slide and that the Life Orb damage gets neutralized while using Crunch or Rock Slide. Druddigon finally got the last spot in my team in the end.

Well I wanted to change Swampert to Porygon2 after 'Vox2' and 'Pokeman man' reminded me to have two Trick Roomers.

With Swampert gone Hippowdons sandstorm didn't help anyone so I switched it with Dusclops.

What you need is two pokemon with trick room because if your reunicleus gets killed, enemy stalls out the trick room, your handed away the victory

You need to use backup Trick Roomers, because it only lasts 5 turns. (Including when you use the move.)

Trick Room basically goes like this:

Turn 1: Use Trick Room
Turn 2: Switch / Attack
Turn 3: Attack
Turn 4: Attack
Turn 5: Attack / Switch back to Trick Roomer

Yeah. They should have made a Light Clay equivalent for Trick Room.

Bulky Trick Room Pokemon can be things like Porygon2, Dusclops, Musharna, Claydol, Deoxys-D and Bronzong.
It's best to have 2-3 Trick Room users in case the other die.

Also my favorite Suicide Trick Room lead is Banette.
- Trick Room
- Taunt
- Shadow Claw
- Destiny Bond
Focus Sash
252 Atk (All IVs are 0 except for Atk)
Brave

Trick Room first turn. Normally they will attack you and you'll be down to your Sash. Then you Destiny Bond, and you kill them too, allowing a free switch in to your TR sweeper. Taunt makes sure they attack you so you can Destiny Bond. Shadow Claw is a backup move. You'll get up Trick Room most of the time.

And it's better to go with straight-all out power with your TR sweepers because stalling makes no sense in Trick Room. (Meaning your Hippowdon)
Swampert needs a more offensive EV spread, I would just say 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def.

Make your Hippowdon and Swampert a -Speed nature.
Like I said, stalling in a TR team doesn't make much sense, so Protect on Escavalier is useless. I would say either Double-Edge or Reversal.
Low Sweep on Conkeldurr is technically making the opponent faster because you're under Trick Room. I'd say run: Hammer Arm/Mach Punch/Payback/Stone Edge.
Mach Punch is only in case Trick Room ends and you know you can take it out with one last hit.

Whoah whoah! This team looks okay but it looks more like Sandstorm team than Trick Room. Make room for Two more Trick Room users. You realy only need one sweeper on a Trick Room team. Conkeldurr would be perfect for that. BellyChestoRest Snorlax is also great but is a bit more high risk high reward. I used Marowak on my Trick Room team as my sweeper and the rest of the team either sets up Trick Room or support it as it's moveset hits 99% of the OU metagame neutrally.and 550+ Attack bites even if it's resisted. Hippowdon is dead weight, replace it for another Trick Room user.

You actually want minimum 3 TRers, although specific skeletons vary. 2 is still not enough.

Conk wants Toxic Orb, as with 3 turns it does less residual damage than LO but increases the damage output more. Ability would be guts. Move set: Hammer Arm, Stone Edge, Facade, Mach/Drain Punch. TR sweepers must be able to dish out high amounts of damage in 3 turns, and LO+SF with your lower powered moves doesn't accomplish that.

Hippo should be changed for another TRer. Sandstorm damage Isn't helping Conk or Drudd. I would recommend a ghost type like Dusclops or Cofagrigus to help balance out your core of Reun and Pory2.

Escav is too bulky for a Focus Sash. It benefits much more from Choice Band, as with it it can fire off a powerful Megahorn that very few can wall. after you elimate Skarmory/Gliscor/that kind, CB Megahorn is an easy sweep. People argue that being locked into a move is bad, but being locked into a powerful move is not.

Marowak is a very good other option if Drudd or Conk don't work. Give it 120 HP 252 Atk 136 Def with EQ, Stone Edge, Fire Punch, and Low Kick/double edge @ thick Club and it will take +2 Chomp DClaw and OHKO back with EQ.

Trick Room is really fun; i hope you enjoy it :)

You should improve your descriptions. And I'd use Mach Punch instead of Low Sweep on Conkeldurr, especially in TR, to take on faster foes.

Where is Porygon2? This RMT is incomplete :/

Escavalier should have Return over Protect. Extra coverage on threats like Gyarados is better than a Choice-locked Return. If you were to use Leftovers or Life Orb and give it Swords Dance over Pursuit, it can also make for a deadly sweeper once stuff like Heatran and other steels are taken care of by Conkeldurr.

Choice Band/Specs really isn't such a good idea on Trick Room sweepers. There are a surprising amount of things that resist both Bug and Steel, and you can't waste trick room turns being locked into a resisted move that will do pitiful damage and having to switch. On a trick room team, you need to limit free switches as much as you can, so you should replace choice band with a life orb, and switch protect (which is counter productive by the way) with swords dance, although set up pokemon aren't that great in trick room, he literally has no other worthwhile attacks. Return doesn't really help the coverage issue, because you're gonna be walled by steels anyway, and you shouldn't stay in on fire types.

Also, because you aren't using any Offensive EVs, you should switch Thunderbolt or Ice Beam on Porygon2 for magic coat. This will stop you from being taunted and can even score you some free hazards (which your team lacks). You don't need both Shadow Punch and Seismic Toss on the same set. Replace both of them, use Night Shade over Seismic Toss, as there are more Ghost types than Normal types in OU. Replace Shadow punch with Pain Split, because Dusclops isn't going to last very long without it.

Replace Low Sweep with Mach punch, because the extra power difference isn't that much, and priority is very useful in trick room. Unless you're scared of accuracy, you should also use Stone Edge over Rock Slide, especially because you aren't using bulk up.

IMO there are certain moves that need to be CB'd. The idea is break through everything that actually resists Megahorn with your other Pokemon and then 2HKO the other resists. This is still a debatable topic, however. (CB Ramp)

Agreeing with kay-tay about Pory2. However, Ice Beam is a good deal better because there are more common 4x weaknesses (Chomp, which you can Trace his Sand Veil, Gliscor, who walls too much TR stuff, Dnite, etc.)
