* Necrozma-DM can use trick room to carve a niche as a setup pokemom that preys on the faster Pokémon in the metagame like Zacian-C and Deoxys-A, using it’s bulk to take a hit from them to set up and deal massive damage to the opponent, as most Pokémon are outsped by it in Trick Room.
* Photon Geyser and Sunsteel Strike are reliable neutral options into most Pokémon, with the most notable target for Photon Geyser being Eternatus, which is likely to OHKO after Stealth Rock, and can become a backup way to deal with Ho-Oh, as it can 2HKO with a boost, while Sunsteel Strike is able to deal with Pokémon like Arceus-Fairy and Calyrex-I.
* Your coverage move should be chosen with your STAB move in mind, as these 2 moves should cover roughly most relevant Pokémon in the metagame. Earthquake allows super effective damage against Pokémon like Primal Groudon and other Necrozma-DM, while Stone Edge allows Necrozma-DM to lure Yveltal, OHKOing it after a Boost, while also dealing with Ho-Oh and Salamence-Mega better.
*Solgalium Z grants Necrozma-DM a one-time nuke option, as Searing Sunraze Smash critically damages if not OHKO’s most Pokémon, giving Necrozma-DM and it’s teammates a huge hole in the opponents defense to capitalize off of. Colbur Berry can also be an option to take one dark-type attack from it’s checks from Yveltal and survive the incoming Sucker Punch, or surviving a Foul Play from Arceus-Dark at +2.
*The use of Fire as a tera type is mostly for granting a resistance to Fire type attacks and a burn immunity, allowing for Necrozma-DM to use the constant fire coverage in the metagame as well as burn attempts from Ho-oh and defensive Arceus forms as setup fodder to get a Trick Room and Swords Dance off. However, while using Solgalium Z, the ability to terastilize will be unavailable, and therefore you won’t be able to take on these threats one on one unless Trick Room is already up, or you attack them while they’re switching in.
* Trick Room Necrozma-DM is most effective on hyper offense teams, acting as a strong wallbreaker being able to punch massive holes in an opponent’s team, as well as being a counter to fast and frail Pokémon it’s teammates can’t set up against such as Zacian-C, Arceus, and Salamence-Mega, setting up Trick Room and taking them out. Trick Room Necrozma-DM also works amazingly on Trick Room teams, appreciating that it dosen't have to take a turn setting up Trick Room first.

* Even with Colbur Berry, Necrozma-DM can struggle with Marshadow and Yveltal due to their super-effective priority, so counters to these Pokémon like
