Hi smogon! This is my first post/rmt. I have seen quite a few, but I've decided it's time to start posting. This is my first real competitive team (I've also made a mono ghost, but that was just for fun). Please give me your feedback on how to make this team better. I have been winning about 60% of the time.

Porygon2_Program_by_Karite_Kita_Neko.png

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Recover

I have had a lot of success with porygon2 as my lead. He sets up trick room and hits politoad well. I don't really want to change him.

Reuniclus (M) @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Recover

On the other hand, reuniclus hasn't been preforming as well as I would like him to. I'm thinking about changing recover to calm mind, but I'm not sure.

Marowak (M) @ Thick Club
Trait: Rock Head
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Double-Edge
- Stone Edge
- Substitute

I love this guy. There is nothing he can't hit hard. If he gets his sub up, he can survive for a while. If I'm not sure who he/she will switch to, sub really helps.

Slowking (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Nasty Plot
- Surf
- Focus Blast

Slow king is also pretty good. I'm not sure about his two attacks though. I'm also wondering whether or not I should use nasty plot. It works really well sometimes, but other times I wish I had another attack there for coverage.

Dragonite (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 196 HP / 172 Atk / 140 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Draco Meteor
- Outrage
- ExtremeSpeed
- Flamethrower

I think dragonite could use a makeover. He works well sometimes, but other times I want him to be only special so his flamethrower could hit scizor/ferrothorn harder.

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Superpower
- Bug Bite

Scizor seems to do Ok. I know this is a pretty standard set, and there isn't much to change.

I feel like some things that might help would be another priority move and some more/stronger fire moves. I'm open to any suggestion you guys could give me. I just want to get my winning percentage up.

u could forgo slowbro 4 politoad w/ drizzle and give dragonite hurricane, thunder, roost, & draco meteor, and u could use a bulkytoad set if u want it 2 survive and cooperate w/ trick room.

Hey there. This is a pretty good Trick Room team you got going on! I would like to make some suggestions to help make this team better. On Reuniclus, you should run a Life Orb set. This set can make Reuniclius a great and excellent Trick Room sweeper. On Marowak, you should run a Swords Dance set, as it helps Marowak become an amazing Physical Sweeper in Trick Room. I hope these suggestion helped a whole lot. Have fun and good luck with your team!

OP

Dr, I like your thinking. I will definitely try both of those. To the other poster, it's an interesting idea, so I will try it, but I don't really want a rain team, so I don't think I will keep it.

Thanks for posting guys.

One minor nitpick is to change Scizor's EV spread to 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Sp.D

This gives you one extra switch into Stealth Rock, while maximizing your bulk.

For Dragonite, I think that since it's Attack is superior to it's Special Attack, you should make him purely physical. One underrated set is Choice Band Dragonite. He can hit things hard while retaining bulk with multiscale and still providing priority in the form of Extremespeed.

Hi Xand3r

Solid Trick Room team you have here but I have some suggestions for you. First, a Life Orb Reuniclus with a moveset of Trick Room / Psyshock / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball over your current Reuniclus set would benefit your team by giving you a solid shot at sweeping under Trick Room. This guy has great coverage and can easily sweep offensive teams that rely on speed. I suggest maintaining Psyshock over Psychic to work around Calm Minders and nail Chansey/Blissey.

If you want Dragonite to hit harder you can try changing his EV spread to 252 Atk / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef with a Quiet nature. This sacrifices some bulk to increase damage output from both sides of the spectrum. If Trick Room is up, then Dragonite will generally "outspeed" its foe so you can take them out without worrying about being hit so the loss in bulk is not as significant.

Now for some smaller changes. First, I recommend replacing Stone Edge on Marowak with ThunderPunch. Thunderpunch has benefits over Stone Edge in that it hits Skarmory for Super Effective damage and Gyarados for 4x. It is also 100% accurate rather than Stone Edge's 80% accuracy which is critical as you do not want to be missing attacks and wasting turns of Trick Room. On Slowking, Ice Beam can replace Nasty Plot. Often it is difficult to set up both a Trick Room and a NP boost so you can go with an extra coverage move instead that lets you hit Dragon-types. Finally, I agree with the above poster in changing Scizor's EV spread to 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDefwhich gives you maximum switch-ins into Stealth Rock and also is slower than the common CB Scizor that invests 8 Spd EVs so you "outspeed" in Trick Room and can hit it with a Superpower.

Hope I helped and good luck with your team!

Set:

Reuniclus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

tl;dr

Reuniclus ----> Life Orb Reuniclus
Dragonite'a EV spread ----> 252 Atk / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Stone Edge on Marowok ----> ThunderPunch
Nasty Plot on Slowking ----> Ice Beam
Scizor's EV spread ----> 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef

if you run full spAtk porygn2 you should probably play download , you can sweep teams if you get a download boost + trick room , another thing , try running HP fire instead of recover , that would make you less scizor weak and would prevent ferrothorn and forretress from putting hazards all over your face , which is crucial since you have no rapid spinners and you auto lose against any stall btw .

thunder punch isn't that bad of a suggestion since you can 2hko skarm IF there's rocks on the field , but wait , you don't have rocks on your team :/ , maybe a bronzong over slowking should fix this but then you become rain weak .

anyway good luck with the team .

wow i remember i got owned by this team on po its a amazing team! only suggestion is put 252 evs in speed if you are using offensive sword dance scizor let it outspeed heatran and magnezone sometimes

Thanks to everyone who has replied. It's great to know that there are people who want to help me.

To Sixalix: I will defiantly try the EV spread on my scizor. I like the idea of a pure physical dragonite, but I want to also try the new EV spread from Nova.

To Novaray: I think it's great that you would give such a detailed response. I will surely change my reuniclus to a more attack focused set. The dragonite set looks good too because he was never meant to be bulky. I think the other two moves will also help give better coverage to my pokemon.

To Z-Rex: I agree with you. My team seems to be weak to stall teams. My thoughts were to put someone with heal bell or a rapid spinner who has steal rocks. I will try the download, but trace is a really good ability.

To RitikGupta: I think I'm going to keep his speed stat lower so he can "outspeed" fast pokemon under trick room.
