Trick Room Team By Jlai6

Trick room team is by far one of the best team I have made. It always give the opponent a hard time as everyone and their mother uses pokemon that is above 100 base speed besides the common use of Ferrathorn and Jellicient. I will present to you all my team, which I find best for a trick room team.

233.png

Item: Eviolite
Ability: Download
Nature: Relaxed
EV: 252 HP, 100 Def, 156 Sdef

Moveset:

Trick Room: Obvious reason.
Recover: To stay in battle more.
Ice Beam: Most people use dragon types so ice beam is a good move to have. And if you're stuck battling a special wall like blissey, you can try to get the freeze hack in. :)
Psychic: For fighting type as they are the one that can drop you in 1 or 2 hits.

Porygon2 is usually my lead. It can take any hard hits and hit back hard due to it's ability. Activate trick room and hit back or switch out if you think you can't handle the enemy's lead. If your opponent's team has a Gliscor, be sure to not let Porygon2 die.

Item: Eviolite
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Impish
EV: 200 HP, 100 Def, 156 Sdef

Moveset:

Toxic: What wall doesn't have this move?
Night Shade: I chose this over seismic toss because Gengar pisses me off.
Trick Room: Obvious reason.
Pain Split: A good move for toxic stalling. :D Can finish the enemy up with night shade once their hp is low enough.

Dusclops is one of the best wall as well as a good trick room user in OU tier. It can switch in and negate any fighting type moves that might give Porygon2 a problem and continue to set up trick room.

534.gif

Item: Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Nature: Adament
EV: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def

Moveset:

Bulk up: Increases your defense and attack. After one bulk up and guts being activated, you are ready to sweep. :D

Drain Punch: A powerful stab moves that will do a lot of damage as well as giving Conkeldurr a way to heal up it's burning.

Mach Punch: A good move to have in case trick room wears off.

Payback: For ghost type, enough said.

Conkeldurr is a monster in trick room. Only thing that gives it a problem is Gliscor but anything else, once you are set up, it's an easy sweep.

589.png

Item: Life Orb
Ability: Swarm
Nature: Adament
EV: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Spd

Moveset:

Megahorn: A powerful stab move for Escavalier. Combined with life orb and swarm, it usually OHKO anything that doesn't resist it. Even pokemon that does resist it, they still take a huge amount of damage.

Reversal: This move is powerful when a pokemon is near death. This move works well with life orb as once your hp is around 1-5% but you will probably die from the life orb recoil. You know how they say it, you go out with a bang! ;)

Counter: I put this move because I hate Gliscor and if my opponent is unprepared, they won't know what strike them.

Iron Head: A good stab move that can flinch your enemy. Good move to have if you're in trick room.

Escavalier is underused as people don't find using a pokemon that has many weakness and is slow amusing. But in trick room, this thing is really scary. It's bulky and it's offensive power ties with Conkeldurr. There's a lot of latios and latias running around in OU. This pokemon murders them with ease in trick room.

593.png

Item: Leftover
Ability: Cursed Body
Nature: Sassy
EV: 252 HP, 4 Satk, 252 Sdef

Moveset:

Trick Room: Obvious reason.
Scald: Good stab move and has a good chance in burning!
Toxic: Toxic stall is always a plus on a wall pokemon.
Recover: To stay in battle longer.

Jellicent is probably the best special wall for this team as it's the only special wall pokemon that can set up trick room. With it's ability, it also makes scarf/band/spec users bitch like no tomorrow.

467.png

Item: Life Orb
Ability: Magnet Pull
Nature: Quiet
EV: 56 HP, 252 Satk, 200 Sdef

Moveset:

Thunderbolt: Stab move which has a chance to parahax.

Hidden Power [Fire]: To wipe out any steel type pokemon, especially Skarmory. With 200 Sdef, you can easily tank your opponent's Magnezone hits and strike back with ease.

Flash Cannon: Stab move. Good move against Terrakion.

Signal Beam: Coverage move.

Magnezone was added into the team as pokemon like Ferrathorn and Skarmory usually gives me problems. It also works really well as Magnezone is ridiculously slow and has high special attack.

Please leave a comment/rate my team. You are more than welcome to try out this team. :)

Ive allways liked Porygon2 since 5th gen gave us the Eviolite. I think the reason for your moves was clear enough, so I say this one is good.

You might want to consider giving him a bit less health, and a little more Def or SpD for a bigger Eviolite boost. I don't really know for sure what would be the best for it tough.

Why these EVs?? Since Conk has low Special Defences, you are in trouble against a lot of pokémon I think. Off course you are faster than the others but I wouldn't suggest it. Maybe a little more Special Defense is appreciated here. I mostly use something as

Item: Leftovers
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SpD
Nature: Brave
~ Bulk Up
~ Drain Punch
~ Mach Punch
~ Payback

If you just pay a bit attention, you'll get yourself a Guts boost when you switch in. If you really like the Flame Orb, you can keep it, but I suggest Leftovers. You can test it out maybe.

Escavalier is underused as people don't find using a pokemon that has many weakness he only has a +4 weakness to Fire xD --> Like Scizor and is slow amusing. Id watch out with this set if I were you. Many Ferrothorns have their appearence in the Rain due to Drizzle. In here, an HP [Fire] doesn't do that much damage to a Ferrothorn. Since you lack Substitute, they can easily Leech Seed stall you with Protect and Leftovers. (really common in my eyes) You also have a problem then if the Ferrothorn does carry Buldoze (some do). With Substitute you can at least Scout their moves.

Both Flash Cannon and Signal Beam aren't great attacking moves. If Flash Cannon is one of the few ways of beating Terrakion (cough: Mach Punch Conkeldur) You could keep it, though Sub is also great. You might want to consider that option. I guess Signal Beam is a good move against Celebi, Reuniclus (revenging), etc...

I hope all your pokémons have 0 IVs in Speed. If not, that could help maybe ^^

Comments in this colour.

This looks like a nice team, but some things I noticed were:
It might be an idea to get rid of psychic for tri attack, since it gives you a STAB for some extra power, and has a chance of paralyzing, burning, and freezing. That, and even with eviolite, Porygon2 isn't gonna want to stay in against fighting types.

Payback won't work too well in trick room. You said it was for ghost types, and you'll almost always outspeed ghosts in trick room, which means payback hits with half the power.

Counter on Escalivier confuses me. You're gonna want to use trick room to it's fullest, so why have counter, a move that will hit after your opponent? You risk losing your escalivier to an unexpected attack, or a lucky crit. I'd reccomend replacing it with swords dance so you can REALLY damage your opponent's team.

Also, as KM said, it's a good idea to run substitute on Magnezone. I'd keep hidden power fire though, switch flash cannon for substitute.

Other than that, yeah, it looks like a really good team.

They all do! :D And the thing about Condelkurr is that I only switch him in when my opponent has a physical pokemon out. After 1 bulk up and guts, his attack reaches close to 1k. Even if my opponent sends out a special attacker like rotom, they still get OHKO. :P

You are right about raining ferrathorn. I could just substitute signal beam for sunny day. I want to be able to wipe out their steel pokemon as fast as possible.

For porygon2, adding tri-attack isn't bad but I prefer psychic because of pokemon like Condelkurr. I prefer to be able to OHKO it before it can bulk up and sweep my team.

Payback on Condelkurr is always a must lol. Even though it's not as effective in trick room, I can still OHKO most ghost types after bulk up+guts.

Sword dance on Escalivier is probably a better choice than counter, thank you for your insights! :D

I really suggest you run this magnezone spread if you have it only to take down Skarmory and Ferrothron:

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 152 HP / 180 SAtk / 176 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Charge Beam
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt / Flash Cannon

Basic idea of this is to sub on Ferrothorn, fire off a bunch of charge beams, until you get a good enough boost (4 or 5 boosts usually is enough), then kill it off with hidden power fire. The evs make sure it takes atleast 2 power whips to kill off a sub and that your outspeed taunt skarmory to kill it off. Thunderbolt offers good stab, while flash cannon sometimes has the coverage you need.

Also, having both Jellicent and Duskclops is a bit redundant. I suggest you ditch one of them (probably Duskclops) and switch it out for Reunicles which deals with other Conkeldurrs better then Jellicent, and after a trick room can be a fiersome special sweeper.

Since no one has pointed this out yet, I would like to say that Dusclops has only 456 EVs so you are missing quite a few EVs. I suggest putting them in your defenses.

Secondly, why does Escavalier have 4 Spd EVs? The point of a TR team is to be slow so running Spd EVs is redundant.

For Magnezone, I suggest changing Flash Cannon to Substitute since Steel doesn't hit anything except Tyranitar for super-effective damage and it still would not do much.

Lastly, Porygon2 should have Thunderbolt for coverage and Psychic will not do much without Sp.Atk EVs.

What your team needs to do is to focus more on it's offense. Half of your Pokemon are the necessary Trick Roomers, while the other half isn't generating so much offense.

I'm not exactly sure what Magnezone is doing there as well, as you can easily fix up the entire team to be anti-Skarmory.

First off, we'll keep your Porygon2+Jellicent core, but you need to Skarm-proof them. With Jellicent around, Fighters aren't as a big deal, so there's no need for Psychic. The standard Thunderbolt there is fine. And since you have Trick Room in play, you don't want to stall so much, so Toxic-stalling with Jellicent isn't ideal. Let's try to add Taunt there instead so nothing can set up on you after you Trick Room.

Now the main thing I don't get is Escavalier, you don't want something easily walled by the 2 most common walls in Gliscor and Skarmory, but if you must, you can replace that with Bronzong, who helps your team out with the same resistences, but you add in another Trick Roomer. Slap on a Life Orb, and it's Gyro Ball can hurt a lot of shit. Skarmory or Gliscor come out? Explode.

You have 3 Trick Roomers, all with great defense and resists. So now you have 2 slots for additional all around offense. Try to use stuff that isn't so wrecked by Skarmory though. For example, Rhyperior always scares the shit out of me, either 4Atk LO, or SD+3Atk. You can also have some fun Victini in here, or perhaps even run some hazards of your own. A Deoxys-S to set things before you start TR'ing is always nice, and you do have spin blocking after all!
