~ A Closer Look at the Team ~

ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn is an excellent Stealth Rock setter. With its immense bulk and good defensive typing it is very likely to pull this off. The only thing it fears is fire. Fighting moves are less likely to be used against it because of Iron Barbs. With Trick Room in effect Ferrothorn is able to take full advantage of its very low speed. It can stall with Leech Seed and hit hard with STAB Gyro Ball and Power Whip. It has several rolls it can play on the team.

- 0 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Aerodactyl: 350-414 (116.2 - 137.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

- 0 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 28 HP / 0 Def Gengar: 231-273 (86.1 - 101.8%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

- 0 Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Greninja: 338-402 (118.1 - 140.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

cofagrigus.gif

Cofagrigus (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Mummy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SpA / 30 SpD / 2 Spe
- Trick Room
- Nasty Plot
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Shadow Ball

The first of three Trick Room users on the team. Cofagrigus has great physical bulk and a usable Special Attack. (Especially after a Nasty Plot or two.) The EVs are set up to minimize the speed as much as possible while still retaining the Fighting Hidden Power. I chose Hidden Power Fighting because it can hit the Normal Pokemon that are immune to Shadow Ball. Shadow Ball is the STAB of choice and with a Nasty Plot and Trick Room it can do substancial damage.

- +2 252+ SpA Cofagrigus Shadow Ball vs. 92 HP / 0 SpD Azumarill: 279-328 (76.6 - 90.1%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

- +2 252+ SpA Cofagrigus Shadow Ball vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Greninja: 153-180 (53.4 - 62.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

- +2 252+ SpA Cofagrigus Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 252-297 (78 - 91.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

escavalier.gif

Escavalier (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Megahorn
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
- Drill Run

Escavalier has a very high Attack stat and the physical moves to abuse it. The only issue stopping it (besides fire) is its slow speed. That all changes when Trick Room is up. Now this monster can go first and do some serious damage. Megahorn is its strongest STAB. Iron Head takes care or Fairies. Knock Off is used for utility such as getting rid of Eviolite and other annoying items. Drill Run takes care of fire types such as Heatran. (If Trick Room is in effect that is)

- 252+ Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latias: 486-572 (161.4 - 190%) -- guaranteed OHKO

- 252+ Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Tyranitar: 312-368 (91.4 - 107.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

- 252+ Atk Escavalier Drill Run vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 376-444 (97.6 - 115.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

conkeldurr.gif

Conkeldurr (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- ThunderPunch
- Drain Punch
- Poison Jab
- Ice Punch

Conkeldurr hits like a truck. His monsterous attack allows him to plow through most enemy threats. He isn't even afraid of being burned. (Infact that helps him plow down enemies even more) Knock Off for utility. Drain Punch keeps him nice and healthy. Mach Punch for incase the Trick Room ends. Ice Punch for the final spot to take out Dragons and Landorous. I feel Conkeldurr is the perfect Pokemon to take advantage of Trick Room due to its slow speed.

- 252+ Atk Conkeldurr Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Tyranitar: 400-472 (117.3 - 138.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

- 252+ Atk Conkeldurr Ice Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Garchomp: 340-400 (94.9 - 111.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

- 252+ Atk Conkeldurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latias: 268-316 (89 - 104.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

reuniclus.gif

Reuniclus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

Another slow as molasses Pokemon and the second user of Trick Room on my team. Magic Guard is one of the best abilities in the game. Allowing Reuniclus to avoid all none direct damages. This allows it to use Life Orb with impunity. It already has a pretty high Special Attack so that makes it pack even more of a punch. Psychic is the STAB move. I chose it over Psyshock because I have other physical attackers to deal with Special Walls. Focus Blast (though unreliable) is used to hit Dark and Steel types hard. While Shadow Ball hits Ghost and other Psychics.

- 252+ SpA Life Orb Reuniclus Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Tyranitar in Sand: 416-494 (121.9 - 144.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

- 252+ SpA Life Orb Reuniclus Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Latias: 192-229 (63.7 - 76%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

- 252+ SpA Life Orb Reuniclus Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 445-525 (137.7 - 162.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

slowbro.gif

Slowbro (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Surf
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
- Trick Room

The third and final user of Trick Room on my Team. I felt a Pokemon with the word "Slow" in its name was perfect to close out this team. Except that is not the case when Trick Room is up. His ability is Regenerator so he is able to heal himself when he comes on and off the field. This becomes especially important because instead of Leftovers Slowbro is holding a Life Orb. It can make and effective Sweeper in a Trick Room and with great coverage in Fire, Ice, and Water he can tear through many common OU threats. Fire Blast deals with Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory. Ice Beam for Dragonite, Garchomp, Gliscor and Landorus. While STAB Surf takes care of Heatran, Talonflame, Terrakion, and Tyranitar.

- 252+ SpA Life Orb Slowbro Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 437-515 (124.1 - 146.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

- 252+ SpA Life Orb Slowbro Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 100 SpD Mega Scizor: 520-614 (151.6 - 179%) -- guaranteed OHKO

- 252+ SpA Life Orb Slowbro Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Garchomp: 530-629 (126.1 - 149.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Use guts conk instead of AV in trick room that way he hits hard. Also another thing you can try out is victini with trick room, v create, bolt strike + brick break, spam v create til you get really slow and then start wrecking stuff. heatran dies to brick break. the problem is after too many defense drops talonflame comes in gg
aww man no rhyperior rhyperior is boss

Here are a few suggestions. First, Life Orb + Sheer Force > Flame Orb + Guts on Conkeldurr. More power on coverage moves without any recoil, you only get 20% less power on Drain Punch. Also the best moveset for Conkeldurr to use on Trick Room teams is Drain Punch + Ice Punch + ThunderPunch + Poison Jab. Poison Jab lets you deal with Clefable, ThunderPunch is for Slowbro, Alomomola, Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, and Talonflame.

Second, Swords Dance + Leftovers > Knock Off + Assault Vest on Escavalier. Escavalier is unwallable outside of Skarmory with TR and SR up at +2, while AV is piss poor weak and thus easy to wall. Trick Room teams need strong Pokemon with the ability to sweep, and Escavalier needs Swords Dance to do this.

And one advice: use Trick Room supporters able to provide free switch-ins to your hard hitters and able to ignore Taunt via Mental Herb. Explosion Bronzong, Explosion Diancie, and Lunar Dance Cresselia are all great examples, as they can set up Trick Room and then bring in a hard hitter for free. Also, Mental Herb because otherwise Taunt leads on hyper offensive teams will prevent you from gaining any momentum early-game, putting you at a huge disadvantage.

Good luck, hope i helped!

Thank you very much for the great input. I will make those changes right away.

Updates:

- Conkeldurr:
Removed Flame Orb + Guts and replaced with Life Orb + Sheer Force. Replaced Knock Off and Mach Punch with Thunder Punch and Poison Jab.

- Excavalier: Removed Knock Off + Assault Vest and replaced with Swords Dance + Leftovers.

mach punch is needed for priority. Poison jab is worse than knock off, knock off is way less spammable and allows conk to beat lati twins.

I was thinking of adding a Dusknoir to my team. I love it's design and I notice he can learn Trick Room in addition to being slow. He has a pretty good attack, access to a variety of moves, and great bulk.

Dusknoir (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Brick Break/ Fire Punch
