Trick Room Team.

Hey guys, I am Vuietnam and I have been playing competitive for about 2 years now. My friend GrandmaUncle told me that I should try this out and why the heck not. Normally I do not care that much about what my team consist of, for example I will run a team full of all physical attackers and that's it. I play for fun not really going for rank so I use what I want to use. That being said I noticed that my new RU team was getting up there in the ranks.

Right now I am, in RU, ACRE:1670 GXE:74 Glicko2:1779 ± 77 (provisional) W:22 L:8 T:0
Honestly I don't know what the numbers really mean but 1670 doesn't seem to shabby. I don't play much RU so that score above is pretty all from the team I am about to show you.

So my team is a RU Trick Room team. There are a few very good abusers to Trick Room in RU. My Team consist of Uxie, Slowking, Escavalier, Dusknior, Magenton, and Steelix. Down below I will explain what each what does and what roles each one plays.

UXIE
480Uxie.png

Moves: Trick Room, U-Turn, Yawn, and Stealth Rocks
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp Def, 4 Def
Nature: Calm
IVs: 0 Speed
Item: Leftovers

Uxie is almost always my lead. Unless I see a taunt lead coming my way, I will throw her out 1st. There are a few Pokemon that are very weak to rocks, Accelgor, Moltres, which are very common to rocks and also (even though I haven't seen it yet) I don't want any focus sashes working. Yawn is a good way to force out a Pokemon then set up Trick Room. Most people when given the opportunity to not let their Pokemon sleep which switch them out giving me the ability to either set up my own rocks or Trick Room. Uxie is my only "wall" that has all defensive EVs. Max HP, max SpDef, I have found nothing to be able to one shot her with out like a crit or w.e. So she will get up the rock and a trick room no matter what. She doesn't like to die and with U-Turn can set up for another fellow Pokemon to sweep.

Slowking
135px-199Slowking.png

Moves: Trick Room, Surf, FireBlast, PsyShock
EVs: 252 Hp, 252 Sp Attack, 4 Def
Nature: Quiet
IVs: 0 Speed
Item: Leftovers

Slowking is my other Trick Room setter. But he also is a major sweeper. 328 Sp Att is nothing to joke about and he has enough HP to take a hit, set up a Trick Room than kill something or switch to an appropriate Poke for the situation. I have leftovers on him because I need to keep his HP as high as possible, and with regenerator he does not die very often. He is my only other Sp Attacker and with his coverage he hits many things which mess up my other Pokes. He is my main check for any fire/grass Pokes. He really is only walled by other Slowking and bulky waters. I was thinking of running LifeOrb for the extra damage. Also I was thinking of running IceBeam or something to kill bulky waters like Hp Grass or Electric over Psyshock, not sure.

Magneton
082.png

Moves: Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, HP Fire, Flash Cannon
EVs: 252 Hp, 252 Sp Attack, 4 Def
Nature: Quiet
IVs: 0 Speed
Item: Life Orb/Choice Specs

Magneton is my other Sp Attacker. He is mainly there because I needed another Sp Attacker and I did not know who else to put and as I was scrolling down the RU list I saw that Base 120 Sp Attack and I was sold. I am mainly running the same set as his big brother, Magnezone, with the trapping of steel types and than murdering them. I have 3 of the steel types in RU so they are there also killing Ferroseed is wonderful. He is the main way I kill fellow Slowking and one of the ways I kill annoying Sigilyph and having another Sp Attacker is needed. The big thing for me is the item, Life Orb or Specs. Life Orb is nice not worrying about getting trapped but my lifetime goes down. Spec will kill more often, making sure to get rid of Sigilyphs even with a boost.

Steelix
208.png

Attacks: Curse, Gyro Ball, Earthquake, Dragon Tail
EVs: 252 Hp, 140 Attacks, 116 Sp Def
Nature: Brave
IVs: 0 Speed
Item: Leftovers

Steelix is power. People do not understand that when you have a curse on a Steelix nothing wants to take a Gyro Ball. The way this set works is you get rid of all the Sp Attackers and then you are good to go. Get a trick room up and than one or two curse up your good to sweep. Nothing is going to be able to kill you besides a crit. He also is a good phaser with dragon tail and sturdy of something gets a tad to big. The item can change but besides that, Steelix works well on this team.

Escavalier
589.png

Moves: Sword Dance, Iron Head, MegaHorn, Return
EVs: 252 Hp 252 Attack 4 Def
IVs: 0 Speed
Nature: Brave
Escavailer is scary. Him in a TrickRoom +2 Attack, things are about to go down. Lum berry is there so he can kill Sigilyph after he puts a burn on me with Psycho Shift. He is also good for taking out Slowking. He is probably my main sweeper. Gets the most kills. The one thing I have noticed is that sometimes he misses Megahorn, which sucks. So I am thinking of putting X-Scissor. The trade off from the power to making sure I hit is interesting, not sure what to do.

Dusknoir
477.png
Moves: Substitute, Focus Punch, Shadow Sneak, Pain Split
EVs: (ATM) 252 Hp, 252 Attack, 4 Def
IVs: 0 Speed
Nature: Brave
Item: Leftovers/LifeOrb

Dusknoir's set is one of my favorite sets. No one seems to see it ever coming and always are trying to toxic him but you set up a sub and than you punch everything. I have perfect coverage with Focus Punch and Shadow Sneak. So there is nothing I can't hit. The one thing is the Evs and the Item. Sometimes I run a more defensive one with around 100 Attack and the rest into a defense or i run LifeOrb for that extra punch. I feel that i would be nice to have another bulkier Poke on this team even though because it is trickroom i don't need to put speed into any of them and they all have some natural bulk.

Overview: So yes I do have three steel types which is weak to fire and fighting but with the other Pokes cover those weakness and vise versa. If I had to switch a Poke it would either be Dusknoir or Magneton but I would need sometime to fit the same roles to an extent. Also there is no Toxic on this team which could be bad but I have not found myself in a time where it was needed. Its nice to have but I don't think I need it.

Hey!
First of all, don't post incomplete teams. Ok so for my rate I will recommend Aggron. Aggron is slow and hits like a truck with Head Smash without recoil. The set is below.

306.png

Aggron @ Choice Band
Trait: Rock Head
Brave Nature
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 Def
IVs: 0 Spe
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam
- Fire Punch/ Aqua Tail

Hope I helped and GL!

Hey there, good to see a TR team, I love TR. I'll throw in my two cents.

Okay, with Uxie and Slowking, you're good to go. I might suggest Life Orb over Leftovers on Slowking so that he packs the more power, but that's just a suggestion, as Slowking can suceed even with Leftovers!

I would suggest Mesprit over Magneton since her access to Healing Wish is pretty huge; she can heal a teammate if they've been really weakened, especially Escavalier and Slowking. She also poses a pretty strong offensive threat on her own with Psychic and Thunderbolt (and Siglyph will still meet his death from a Mesprit's T-bolt), and she can also make for a backup TR summoner if Uxie and Slowking are down. That's all.

Steelix is cool but having multiple Steels puts you at a disadvantage to some degree. I would suggest Druddigon or Hariyama. He has an excellent defensive typing allowing him multiple switch-in opportunities, and can abuse with a powerful Outrage that wrecks whole shit. If opposing Steels are a problem, Hariyama can abuse Guts well and Guts boosted Close Combats are extremely brutal. Hariyama also has excellent synergy with Escavalier offensively so that's a big plus. Either one should replace Steelix, I would lean more towards Hariyama since he benefits your team somewhat better.

Escavalier seems good, I wouldn't put SD on him though and I would replace that with Pursuit and slap on Choice Band. He needs the immediate power to smash shit immediately because Trick Room runs on a timer.

Dusknoir needs a new set change, Shadow Sneak is not needed because you're running Trick Room, plus Dusknoir learns TR by himself so why not give him it? Also, D-Bond is cool to take down an opponent.

Summary of changes:

Magneton-------->Mesprit
Steelix-------->Hariyama or Druddigon
Change Dusknoir's set entirely

Here are the sets:

Mesprit @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Healing Wish

Hariyama @ Flame Orb
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Ice Punch
- Bullet Punch

Druddigon @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
- Dragon Claw

Dusknoir @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
- Trick Room
- Shadow Punch
- Earthquake
- Destiny Bond

So that's that, I hope I helped

I recommend making those changes, especially because steelix is making your team even weaker to fire. Oh, and you didn't post the EVs or item for escavailer. (I'll edit later if anything else comes to mind.)

Hey guys thanks for reviewing my team so here are my thoughts.

Dusknoir needs a new set change, Shadow Sneak is not needed because you're running Trick Room, plus Dusknoir learns TR by himself so why not give him it? Also, D-Bond is cool to take down an opponent.

What I have found with Sub-Punch Dusknoir is that no one expects it. You will be able to get behind a sub and wreck some havoc. He is kinda on the team because he doesnt exactly need the TR to work which is nice. I have shawdow sneak because its always good to have priority on a team even though there is a TR up. Maybe I will get rid of Pain Split for TR.

I am leaning towards Hariyama became a fighting Poke would be nice so I am going to try that out.

That's all.

I could try this as well. Having another TR setter would be nice but I am not sure on how useful Healing wish is. I tend to not use moves like that.
