SS OU Trick Room Team

Always liked the idea of trick room but was never meta until last gen. Now with may of those pokemon gone it seemed dead but I've tested this setup quite a bit and while it seems worse I feel like It can def climb the ladder(if I was better lmao)
Runerigus @ Leftovers
Ability: Wandering Spirit
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick Room
- Memento
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
Runerigus take the place of uxie on this team. His typing may not be as good but he learns basically the same moves and has incredible physical bulk to boot. The generic strategy is to setup of rocks, trick room and then memento whatever mon they lead with. He's a really strong lead on the team that I've had good success with. Protect is there for the final slot to scout choice sets as some added utility.

Hatterene-Gmax (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Trick Room
- Mystical Fire
- Dazzling Gleam

Hatterne is the main sweeper of the team and is the perfect trick room sweeper. Access to both STAB psychic and dazzling gleam means she can 2HKO basically everything that doesnt resist her and matches up fine into bulkier steel types like ferrothorn and corviknight.

Vikavolt @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Bug Buzz
- Energy Ball
- Volt Switch

Vikavolt is another special sweeper whose really strong under trick room. STAB thunderbolt and bug buzz kills alot of things in the game. Allso with volt switch He can pivot into other mon and energy ball gives him some coverage.

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Trick Room
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex

I run jellicent here for a couple reasons. Water Absorb means that a banded or scarfed dracovish basically insta loses, The natural bulk she has allows her to tank dragapult shadowball and set up trick room. Will-o-Wisp + Hex also allows this thing to hit pretty hard after some setup and can take out a decent amount of mons

Crawdaunt @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Crabhammer
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance

Crawdaunt is like the only mon that didn't get touched from the past gens standard trick room team. He does basically the exact same thing he does on rain teams which is ohko basically every mon in the game. Knock Off/ CrabHammer kills almost everything and aqua jet is just good utility. SD is there since predicting a switch under trick room basically means crawdaunt outspeeds everything and is at 2x ATK

Mimikyu @ Red Card
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
- Shadow Claw
- Play Rough
- Destiny Bond
- Trick Room

Red Card mimikyu is pretty good utility for a trick room teams. Sometimes you're opponent will be able to just outright sweep you without trick room being setup. With disguise and red card theres basically nothing to worry about as you can just sack whatever you have out go into mimikyu and get a guaranteed trick room unless you get taunted. On top of that both play rough and shadow claw are good stab moves and destiny bond can force kills on mons I'd normally struggle with.

I know the team is far from perfect but it's a good start to a strategy I really enjoy playing. One thing I'd really like help on is item choice as I even though I can run the same item on multiple pokemon in smogon on cartridge It's one per mon and I do want to be able to play the team on cartridge as well as on smogon.

Hello! toyetic. I really liked your team as Trick Room offence is my favorite playstyle. Your team is really cool too but the sets and some members can be replaced for the improvement of the team. Let's get started-

Major changes-

:jellicent:-->:aegislash: Your team had already Crawdaunt as a water type wallbreaker and Jellicent was not fitting in the team as a Ghost type pokemon so I replaced it with Aegislash, which is far better than Jellicent as a Ghost type sweeper due to Stance change, setup move in Swords Dance and the team already had a lot of trick room setters. Here is the set-
Aegislash @ Air Balloon
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Shadow Claw
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Gyro Ball
Air balloon is used to safely setup in front of Excadrill. The set and moves as self explanatory as well.

Minor changes-

:Runerigus:
Use Body press instead of protect as it does damage based on the user's defense stats and prevents it from becoming a complete taunt bait as well.

:vikavolt: The moveset is fine but use choice specs for dealing more damage. Use can also dynamax it to switch moves. Also, use Quiet nature for minimum speed.

:Hatterene: Set is fine but use life orb for added damage.

:crawdaunt: Use a choice band set with close combat over swords dance and use brave nature.

Hope that these changes might help you..... Enjoy :]
