Venusaur uses Chlorophyll and Growth to become a deadly sun sweeper. Venusaur is capable of sustaining itself long-term with Giga Drain, while Weather Ball vaporizes Steel-types like Gholdengo and Corviknight and Grass-types like Meowscarada and Sinistcha. Its last move can be Sludge Bomb to melt Dragon-types like Dragonite and Roaring Moon, as well as Moltres and Assault Vest Hatterene, or Earth Power to hit Raging Bolt, Galarian Slowking, and Fire-types like Cinderace and Iron Moth. Its Tera type can be Fire to boost the power of Weather Ball even higher; a +2 Tera Fire Weather Ball 2HKOes Tera Poison Ting-Lu while having a high chance to 2HKO Blissey as well. Tera Ground, on the other hand, allows Venusaur to OHKO Raging Bolt unboosted and Galarian Slowking after a Growth.

Since Venusaur requires sun to work, pair it with either Torkoal or Ninetales as sun setters. Torkoal has better bulk, Stealth Rock, and Rapid Spin, which can help in both softening the enemies and preventing Venusaur from taking unnecessary chip damage. In contrast, Ninetales has higher Speed, is stronger, has Encore, meaning it can both lock users into setup moves, entry hazards, or healing moves, allowing Venusaur to get a free entry, and can use Healing Wish to give it a second chance at sweeping. Venusaur can struggle against special walls like Blissey, Tera Poison Ting-Lu, and Galarian Slowking depending on its choice of coverage, and as such pairs incredibly well with Walking Wake. Its power lets it pressure these aforementioned walls and break through most defensive teams with ease, which can be used by Venusaur later on to clean, while Venusaur's greater Speed helps against offensive teams, switching into targets like Ogerpon-W and Iron Valiant that would otherwise threaten Walking Wake. Another great breaker for sun teams is Roaring Moon, which helps Venusaur against checks like Galarian Slowking and Blissey and brings it in with U-turn. Great Tusk also helps against Venusaur's aforementioned bad matchups while also both setting Stealth Rock and using Rapid Spin to help in the hazard control department. In return, Venusaur can come in on threats like Primarina, Iron Valiant, and Ogerpon-W. Hatterene can also block hazards thanks to Magic Bounce, cripple fast Pokemon with Nuzzle, letting Venusaur outspeed them even when sun is over, and heal Venusaur thanks to Healing Wish.

Venusaur's role in OU is being a sun sweeper, thanks to Chlorophyll doubling its speed and Growth becoming twice as powerful under sun this is mostly dex info and technically incorrect because that's not how stat boosts work, chlorophyll and growth should be in the first sentence but in a way thats more attached to venu itself if that makes sense.. Venusaur is capable of sustaining itself long term with Giga Drain while using a fire-type sun boosted Weather Ball that vaporize steel-types like Gholdengo and Corviknight. Its last move can be Sludge Bomb to melt fairy-types like Iron Valiant and Clefable valiant can drop to even +0 no tera weather ball while clef gets ohkod almost always with tera, sludge is better than the other two moves vs moltres, av hatterene, and some dragons, while Earth Power lets it hit Raging Bolt and Galarian Slowking and fires like moth and ace. Its choice of Tera can be Fire to boost the power of Weather Ball even higher, a +2 Tera fire sun boosted Weather Ball 2HKOs Ting Lu cleanly mention that this only comes into play vs terad lu because tera weather ball has nearly the exact same rolls as giga drain, does 1 more min damage and 2 less max damage, while having an 86.7% chance to 2HKO Blissey as well. Tera Ground, on the other hand, allows Venusaur to OHKO both Galarian Slowking and Tyranitar attempting to change the weather, in addition, it lets it OHKO Raging Bolt only a 37% chance vs 0 bulk bolt while with +2 it always kills while becoming immune to its dangerous Thunderclap

Since Venusaur requires sun to work, pair with either Torkoal or Ninetales as sun setters, Torkoal has better bulk, Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin, which can help in both softening the enemies with Stealth Rock and getting rid of the hazards with Rapid Spin, letting Venusaur come in at max health. In contrast, Ninetales has higher speed, is stronger, has Encore and Healing Wish meaning it can both lock users into moves Venusaur doesn't mind, like set-up moves, hazards or healing moves, allowing it to get a free entry, or use Healing Wish to give it a second chance at sweeping. Venusaur's biggest problems is its reliance on sun, without it, it loses its precious Weather Ball, allowing steel-types to stand in its way, and it gets easily out speed by most of the offensive metagame. Moreover, it needs a Growth boost to become threatening, without it, it gets walled by Blissey, if lacking Earth Power, Tyranitar and Galarian Slowking can come in and change the weather, and if lacking Sludge Bomb, Alolan Ninetales can do the same, while also having troubles against bulkier fairies like Clefable and Hatterene. and even though Giga Drain is Super Efective vs Ting Lu, its bulk and Earthquakes deal more than what Venusaur can heal, letting it win a 1v1 scenario. For this reason, sun has to keep its dominance in battle as tight as possible, this is where sun's favorite wall breaker Walking Wake comes in. its power lets it break through most defensive teams with ease, which can be used by Venusaur later on to clean, Venusaur being faster than Walking Wake under the sunny weather lets it also be better against offense, which can be used by using Fairy moves that hurt Walking Wake as an entry point for Venusaur. Another great breaker for sun teams is Roaring Moon which helps Venusaur by using STAB Knock Off to weaken the opposition, as well as bringing Venusaur in with U-turn. On a more supportive role, Great Tusk loves having natural Protosynthesis boots and can help by setting, and, or removing hazards. In return, Venusaur can come in on both fairy and water moves directed at it. Hatterene can also help block hazards thanks to Magic Bounce, Hatterene can also cripple fast pokemon with Nuzzle, letting Venusaur out speed them even when sun is over, and can bring Venusaur again thanks to Healing Wish

Its last move can be Sludge Bomb to melt Dragon-types like Dragonite and Roaring Moon, it also gets a better hit against as well as threatening Moltres and AV Assault Vest Hatterene, while Earth Power lets it hit Raging Bolt and Galarian Slowking and fire-types like Cinderace and Iron Moth. Its choice of Tera can be Fire to boost the power of Weather Ball even higher, a +2 Tera fire sun boosted Weather Ball 2HKOs Ting Lu cleanly which can be usefull when Ting Lu uses Tera Poison to survive Giga Drain, while having an 86.7% chance to 2HKO Blissey as well. For this reason, sun has to keep its dominance in battle as tight as possible, this is where sun's favorite wall breaker Walking Wake comes in. This is extremely wordy and can be cut down severely. You don't really need to re-emphasize how Venusaur relies on Sun: it's already stated before, and also kinda self-explanatory for most of it. Same with it needing a growth boost, especially with the level of depth you went into it. Furthermore, some of these examples are pretty rare, such as Ttar in general, as well as Atales switching in to switch weather. You can rephrase this to "Venusaur can struggle against specially defensive walls like Blissey, Tera Poison Ting Lu, and Galarian Slowking depending on its choice of coverage, and as such pairs incredibly well with Walking Wake." its power lets it break through most defensive teams with ease, which can be used by Venusaur later on to clean, Venusaur being faster than Walking Wake under the sunny weather lets it also be better against offense, which can be used by using Fairy moves that hurt Walking Wake as an entry point for Venusaur while Venusaur's greater Speed helps against offensive teams, switching into Fairy-type moves that would otherwise threaten Walking Wake. On a more supportive role, Great Tusk loves having natural Protosynthesis boots and can help by setting, and, or removing hazards. Emphasize Great Tusk's good mus into Venusaur's checks, Venusaur does not provide sun so Tusk getting proto doesn't matter In return, Venusaur can come in on both fairy and water moves directed at it. Hatterene can also help block hazards thanks to Magic Bounce, Hatterene can also and cripple fast pokemon with Nuzzle, letting Venusaur out speed them even when sun is over, and can bring Venusaur again as well as healing Venusaur thanks to Healing Wish.(AP)

Its power lets it pressure these aforementioned walls, (RC) as well as and break through most defensive teams with ease, which can be used by Venusaur later on to clean, while Venusaur's greater Speed helps against offensive teams, switching into targetss targets like Ogerpon-W and Iron Valiant that would otherwise threaten Walking Wake. Another great breaker for sun teams is Roaring Moon, (AC) which helps Venusaur against checks like Galarian Slowking and Blissey, (RC) as well as bringing Venusaur and brings it in with U-turn. Great Tusk also helps against Venusaur's aforementioned bad matchups, (RC) while also both setting Stealth Rocks Rock and using Rapid Spin to help in the hazard control department. In return, Venusaur can come in on threats like Primarina, Iron Valiant, and Ogerpon-W for the latter. Hatterene can also help block hazards thanks to Magic Bounce, (AC) and cripple fast Pokemon with Nuzzle, letting Venusaur out speed outspeed them even when sun is over, as well as healing and heal Venusaur thanks to Healing Wish.

Venusaur uses Chlorophyll and Growth to become a deadly sun sweeper. Venusaur is capable of sustaining itself long term long-term with Giga Drain, while Weather Ball vaporizes Steel-types like Gholdengo and Corviknight and Grass-types like Meowscarada and Sinistcha. Its last move can be Sludge Bomb to melt Dragon-types like Dragonite and Roaring Moon, as well as threatening Moltres and Assault Vest Hatterene, while or Earth Power lets it to hit Raging Bolt, (AC) and Galarian Slowking, (AC) and Fire-types like Cinderace and Iron Moth. Its choice of Tera Tera type can be Fire to boost the power of Weather Ball even higher, (RC); (ASC) a +2 Tera Fire Weather Ball 2HKOs 2HKOes Tera Poison Ting Lu, (RC) Ting-Lu while having a high chance to 2HKO Blissey as well. Tera Ground, on the other hand, allows Venusaur to OHKO Raging Bolt unboosted and Galarian Slowking after +2 a Growth.

Since Venusaur requires sun to work, pair it with either Torkoal or Ninetales as sun setters, (RC). (AP) Torkoal has better bulk, Stealth Rock, (AC) and Rapid Spin, which can help in both softening the enemies and preventing Venusaur from taking unnecessary chip damage. In contrast, Ninetales has higher Speed, is stronger, has Encore, (AC) and Healing Wish meaning it can both lock users into set-up setup moves, entry hazards, (AC) or healing moves, allowing Venusaur to get a free entry, or and can use Healing Wish to give it a second chance at sweeping.
