I am a beginner to competitive battling, so I need some advice on this team:
Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Protect
This thing is my special sweeper. Stab Hyper Voice and Psyshock, Focus blast for dark types, Tyranitar in particular, and protect to scout. Gardevoir-Mega has been good for me. But I need to know what changes I should make to this mon, because it has never really been the mvp of a match, and I feel like it should be better than it has been for me.
Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Clear Smog
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 96 HP / 160 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hurricane
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Knock Off
These three are the Triple Threat Triad, because together, they have great defensive synergy, and counter each other's weaknesses. Spore Amoonguss and T-Wave Slowbro are my double regenerator status core, and assault vest Tornadus-T tanks special hits for them, as well as acting as a offensive pivot. Slowbro in particular has been really good for me, so I don't want to make any changes to him. But I do want advice on the other two, even though they have been good to.
Infernape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Gunk Shot
- Thunder Punch
Infernape is my favourite mon ever, because my first game i received was Pokemon Pearl, and I chose Infernape as my starter. I have used this thing in uu on a few teams, but I wanted to try it out in ou, so this thing has to be on the team. I haven't really seen scarfed Infernape much, so I thought i would try it out. It has been very effective, and usually succeeds as my late game sweeper. Stab Close Combat and Flare Blitz pack a punch, Gunk Shot deals with fairy types, and Thunder Punch deals with water types and surprises Slowbro as a last ditch effort. Please let me know if i should make any changes to him, but I am not taking it off the team.
Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
Now this thing has been a disappointment. I added this thing on the team to complete the fighting-dark-psychic triangle as well as a second answer to fairy types. I have seen other people do really well with this thing, so please either give me advice on his moveset, or tell me a whole new mon to put in this spot all together. I was thinking of having either a spinner or a entry hazard lead or maybe even a spinblocker in addition to a entry hazard setter.
I have talked to an experienced player, and this is what he thinks i should do, let me know if you agree with these:
1. WOW > Protect because WOW helps with Mega Scizor
2. Modest Gardevoir > Timid because the extra power helps
3. Scarfed Keldeo > Scarfed Infernape because Keldo helps punish stuff like Landorus-T (I need a lot of convincing for that one, because I love Infernape)
4. Psyshock > Ice Beam because most things ice beam threaten are already afraid of scald
5. Skarmory > Tornadus for entry hazard purposes
