I just want to say I'm new here and I'm hoping im doing this right. The team im trying to make is for a special tourney some friends at a local store are hosting, the rules are as follows
1. Species Clause
2. Item Clause
3. Only 1 Legendary Pokemon per team.
4. All Pokemon in your team have to share at least 1 out of 3 chosen types.
My chosen types were Poison, Ghost, and Dark.
So without further delay, the team...
Slot 1: Nidoking @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sheer Force
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 Def/252 Sp. Atk/252 Spe
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Superpower
I chose Nidoking for the nice combo of Sheer Force and Superpower, but it mainly acts as entry hazard setup, and is almost guaranteed at least 1 layer of Stealth Rocks with The held Focus Sash. After that I try to sweep as much as I can before it's KO'd. Typing wise it really only grants a little more protection against Rock.
Slot 2: Aegislash @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Sp. Def
- Shadow Ball
- Gyro Ball
- King's Shield
- Toxic
I chose Aegislash because I needed something resistant to both Ice and Psychic, and overall he's great at tanking. His low speed makes Gyro Ball hit hard while he still tanks in Shield Forme. King's Shield shouldn't need any explanation. Weakness Policy is there for possible sweeping, though it rarely goes off. Toxic is a good lead after switching in off of U-Turn and doesn't trigger Stance Change.
Slot 3: Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Sp. Def
- Night Shade
- Foul Play
- Will-o-Wisp
- Recover
I chose Sableye as strictly support, with Will-o-Wisp and Recover giving it a little longevity. It's only weakness is mitigated by half of the team, and is guaranteed at least one burn with Prankster.
Slot 4: Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Sp. Def/252 Spe
- Brave Bird
- Defog
- Cross Poison
- U-Turn
I chose Crobat as an anti-support/beater option. If entry hazards are up I'll use Defog and not expect much else out of it. If for beating purposes I'll use whatever STAB move is appropriate for the situation. If a troublesome opponent shows up, U-Turning into an Aegislash seems a pretty good option.
Slot 5: Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Shadow Tag
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 Def/252 Sp. Atk/252 Speed
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect
I chose Gengar as a Special Sweeper, with maxed Sp. ATK and Speed EV's he can usually do decent damage to an opposing team. He also works great on the switch from Yveltal's U-Turn if needed. Main offensive might in tandem with Yveltal. Will-o-Wisp puts more pressure on the opponent should the need arise, though admittedly Sableye does it better.
Slot 6: Yveltal @ Life Orb
Ability: Dark Aura
Nature: Mild
EVs: 24 HP/48 Atk/252 Sp. Atk/184 Spe
- Dark Pulse
- Sucker Punch
- Oblivion Wing
- U-Turn
I chose Yveltal as he can either be an early game sweeper or end game cleaner. The recoil from using a life orb is mitigated by Oblivion Wing, though the main STAB move here is Dark Pulse. The only weakness here is Fairy, against which I can normally out speed into Gengar with U-Turn.
I've been testing this team against some of the more competitive people around, but it's clear it needs some work. Anyway feel free to give suggestions or just tell me what you think.
