Yeah so, this is a theme team about pokemon based on stuff you'd usually find on an African safari or something.
Essentially, it sucks because that theme limits me to a bunch of ground types, and as a result the team is unbalanced.
If this team is too gimmicky, then I apologize
But, here goes anyway:
Descaraffe(M)@Sitrus Berry
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP/ 80 Def/ 176 SpDef
Sassy Nature (+SpDef, -Spe)
Light Screen
Magic Coat
Psychic
Trick Room
Because obvious trick room is obvious, and Girafarig is the only trick roomer available *facepalm*. Not only is it weak defensively, it's also rather fast. Fortunately all it has two do is stick around for one turn and use trick room, and it actually has a blessing in its ability, inner focus, since it can't be faked out. Magic coat prevents taunt and sleep moves and light screen supports the team as they mostly have better physical defense than SpDef. Sitrus berry is there in case they decide to attack him with two pokes. Psychic is for STAB because I can't be bothered to go with Swift and because the rest of my team is mainly physical. His EVs balance out his defenses with Mightyena's Intimidate
Scavenraya(F)@Blackglasses
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SpDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spe)
Crunch
Leer
Me First
Sucker Punch
Yes, leer. Mightyena's attack really sucks anyway, so leer actually supports stronger physical attackers like Donphan and Rhyperior. Dual dark stab because there's little else worth running in his movepool anyway, and me first to catch some pokes off guard occasionally, although it's unreliable. Also, if he me firsts crunch, it gets quite the boost.
Petroceras(M)@Expert Belt
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SpDef
Brave Nature
Drill Run
Earthquake
Ice Punch
Protect
Trick Room sweeper; Drill Run doesn't hit teammates, Stone Edge is powerful STAB, and ice punch hits Torterra and a bunch of dragons hard. Protect to avoid damage from Donphan's EQ and avoid damage on the turn TR is used. Expert Belt over Life Orb to keep him alive as long as possible.
Donphan(M) @ Muscle Band
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/ 4 SpDef
Brave Nature
Earthquake
Fire Fang
Gunk Shot
Seed Bomb
Although it's a huge gamble, Gunk Shot hits grass types for heavy damage and is his strongest move other than STAB EQ. Seed bomb checks water types that my team is weak to (namely Swampert and Gastrodon), while Fire Fang is for steels like Ferrothorn that don't mind EQ. Muscle Band for the same reason Rhyperior has E. Belt
Luxray(M)@ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk/252 SpA/4 HP
Quiet Nature (+SpA, -Spe)
Superpower
Crunch
Protect
Thunderbolt
T bolt over wild charge since I desperately need something that can check skarm. He can Superpower while still striking down the opponent with T-bolt, and Crunch provides good coverage with Superpower.
Hippowdon(M)@Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/252 SpDef/4 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
Stockpile
Slack Off
Toxic
Dig
Sets up sandstorm, which supports Rhyperior's special defense. After a stockpile, he can sit there pretty much stalling, sitting pretty in TR with instant recovery. Dig stalls more while not hurting teammates. Tries to keep away from Donphan's corner as an EQ from Donphan will do double damage when he's digging.
