Trolling In The Deep~

Adele-Rolling-In-The-Deep.jpg

Hi, let me introduce myself. I'm Dice, Ms. Dice, etc, and this is my first post on Smogon. I've been an avid member on PBC, and Beta and I decided to try out the Smogon Server's Drizzle + SS ban, and I really liked it, and I really liked the community in general, thus I decided to join the forums. Due to the fact I wanted to introduce myself somewhat, I decided to post an RMT of this stall team which has been revised and fixed tons over the last two months. I've peaked 1670 CRE on DW OU on Beta, and I reached the #1 Spot on PBC in a mere 24 hours last week. More often than not, this is the team I've used in many situations, and it's always seems to pull out for me. About the team itself: It's the basic stall team with a few "oddballs" that not many players use, such as Amoonguss and Quagsire. It's all about dat' Entry Hazard damage, and is designed to wall everything in the current DW OU metagame. That stupid Magnezone + Chandy + Wobbuffett stuff on the ladder is typically 6-0'd by this team unless I play badly. Anyways, here's the team~ Oh and I like Adele, and this team is really trollish since it's full stall, soyah. I present to you, Trolling in the Deep~

ALSO: People said that full stall wasn't as viable as it was last gen due to Secret Sword, Psyshock, Power Creep, etc, but they are wrong... this is the best team I've ever built/used.

Take A Look..

Now Look Harder..

@ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Volt Switch
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

Forretress acts as my lead in team preview, though if I see a Chandy or something I basically never lead with him. He's probably one of the most key member on the team, because he lays both the Toxic Spikes and the Stealth Rocks, the two best Entry Hazards, imo. Forretress is the best overall Rapid Spinner in Gen5 due to his access to every hazard in the game + amazing bulk + amazing typing + access to Rapid Spin. I like having him be specially defense so he can take hits from both sides of the attacking spectrum fairly well, and Sassy + 0 Spd IV's guarantee's he'll be the slower Forretress in a war, so you'll Rapid Spin last while they throw up Entries.

195.gif
@ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Scald
- Recover
- Stockpile
- Earthquake

Quagsire is so beneficial for the team's success, acting as a back-up physical wall if Skarmory is damaged, as well as checking/countering pretty much every set-up pokemon in the game. Timid Volcarona's Bug Buzz fails to 2HKO after a Stockpile (they QD, you switch in Quagsire, they Bug Buzz, you Stockpile, then Recover and they have to switch), which is insanely helpful, and Quagsire can burn Excadrill's too if they're stupid in stay in, which is lolzy, since Scald seems to have a 99% chance to Burn. Earthquake > Swagger, because Swagger sucks, and Earthquake is a decent STAB off 206 attack, and it's mainly for the "unwallable" SD Toxicroak.

227.gif
@ Shed Shell
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Roost

Part 1/2 of the fantastic defensive core we have all grown to love. He's the typical Skarm, not much to say. It's like the only Haxorus counter in the game, so he's pretty necessary. The speed EV's allow me to outspeed almost every Skarm I encounter, allowing me to beat them to the Whirlwind, and Shed Shell is for Magnezone / Chandy since Shed Shell allows me to lay down an extra layer of spikes on the Switch-in of Chandy/Magnezone instead of predicting and switching out, and it makes people really mad. MagnezoneHaxorus teams are so ridiculous... watch out for Excadrill flinches coz without Lefties it hurts badly.

591.gif
@ Black Sludge
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Clear Smog
- Spore

Dis' Shroom got skillz, I promise. People were saying "LOLSTALLSUCKS KELDEO OWNS IT LOOLLOLOLO" but not really. Amoonguss is the bane of Keldeo, srsly. He just owns Keldeo overall, even at +1 HP Ice fails to 2HKO, and I can just Clear Smog, Giga Drain, or put him to sleep. Secret Sword does nothing. At times I even have Amoonguss tank some moves because of his amazing bulk. He also is an amazing Fighting Type resistance to have, and he never seems to die because he has the same ability as Slowbro, Regenator, and restores 1/3 of his HP on every switch out. HP Fire is mainly for Forretress and Ferro, and has decent coverage with Giga Drain. Overall, he's pro. And my only DW Poke. The EV's are for that extra EV boost in Special Defense or Defense.. I forget, and the rest is just thrown for mixed bulk. It's the best EV Spread, 252/128/128 is bad.

248.gif
@ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 212 SDef / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

The glue to this team, basically, Tyranitar has one of the more important roles on the team. He is the counter to stupid Latios's and Chandy's that troll the DW Metagame, and he can OHKO with either Pursuit or Crunch... so it doesn't really matter. He also saves my team from being 6-0'd by CM Reuniclus since he outspeeds and can OHKO after like 5% prior damage, like a few Volt Switches from Forretress. Stone Edge is a strong STAB, even 2HKO'ing the likes of Skarmory, and surprises switch in Dragons and such. Superpower is mainly there for other Tyranitar once I know they aren't scarf'd. The EV's allow for maximum attacking power, the ability to outspeed Pringles who is soooo annoying, and maximum Specially Defensive bulk since the SS 50% boost .

242.gif
@ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Softboiled
- Heal Bell
- Seismic Toss

Part 2/2 of the unbeatable core we all love/hate. Blissey is the team's cheerleader supporting it and getting it all hyped again! Seismic Toss is the most reliable attack she has, so I use it. I never found Flamethrower or Ice Beam really helpful, e.g. I was never like "Damn, wish I had Flamethrower there". Wish/Softboiled may seem weird, but Wish/Protect is too unreliable since you can just be phazed and not get the boosts you want back, and Softboiled is nice so I don't have like 5% HP left at the end of the turn, and I Wish and die due to Sand recoil. Heal Bell saves my team from annoying status, and is a lifesaver to Quag especially.

Conclusion..

Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you did, and any ideas you have will be taken into consideration. Don't mistake me for a noob please, because I am a good battler.. and yah. That's all.

Hate/Rate/Discrimate.

Threat List to be added soon, since I deal with some Pokes in somewhat weird but effective ways.

It looks to me like a standard MixApe could completely wreck your entire team by itself if running this set
Infernape@life orb
naive
-Close Combat
-Fire Blast
-Grass Knot
-Nasty Plot/Mach Punch/really any other move
252 spA/64 att/192 spe
If your skarmory doesn't have full health to activate sturdy, you're pretty much screwed.
To fix this I'd recommend putting in a bulkier water instead of quagsire. Perhaps Gastrodon w/ max hp and max spDef because it can survive Infernape's grass knot w/ a little left, and then ko back w/ waterfall or earthquake. You could also try choice Band Dragonite > Ttar. Extremespeed allows for priority against Ape, and he resists those 3 attacks. If ape is running HP Ice though, you're in for a lot of hurt w/o gastrodon or a bulkier water.

they are working now, not sure what was wrong before. Anyways, on to my rate.
1. There is a clear weakness to Infernape/Blaizken (really any fire/fighting)
The dual STABs hit every memeber of your team super effectivly, except quagsire. Furthermore, if they are both purely physical sets, you still cant really wall them effectivly because of skarmory's weakness to fire. Now if he is MixApe, which is common, you are in for even further trouble, especially since some carry grass knot or hp grass for quagsires.
2. You also fear a possible mixed deopxy speed, running boltbeam, superpower, and hp fire. just like above, the main issue it the ability to hit nearly everyone on your team super effectivly.
3. lucario can be a huge threat to this team, do to his sheer unpredictability. You really will end up losing a pokemon to him before you figure out his set. Since he is immune to toxic spikes, if he gets one nasty plot up, you are in trouble. Skarmory does not want to switch in to take boosted aura spheres, and thus cant whirlwind out. His access to priority moves makes your attempts to force him out or his stats down difficult.
4. Latios can be a huge problem for this team, i understand you have blissey and tyranitar and such, but besides blissey, noone wants to take a specs draco meteor, and trick is very common on latios, so be careful, especially if he runs surf because then tyranitar has to watch out .
5. another small issue, swords dance breloom is rising in use, and could be a problem. Since blissey has heal bell, that would mean she would have to switch in to hell the poke thats sleeping, but a boosted move from breloom isnt what she wants to face. If you see breloom, make it an absolute necesity to keep skarmory, because if skarmory is gone, there is really noone left to stop it once it gets a few boosts (quagy hates those STAB grass moves)

Ok i think thats all i've got for now, most of those were small issues, because this team seems pretty solid, but i have a suggestion. I think you need to replace forretress for a Tentacruel. Tentacruel is the ultimate fire/fighting counter, and can do most everything that forretress can, but with better synergy to your team.

Tentacruel @ black sludge
(same evs/natures as forretress)
liquid ooze

toxic spikes
rapid spin
scald
ice beam

Now i know you want your stealth rocks, so i suggest adding them on either ttar or blissey, probably on t-tar over either crunch or pursuit, depending on what you use more. Thats all i got! Hope i helped and good luck in the future!

Hi, solid team here.

How does deal your team with Sableye? It rapes your stall team to the death and you're weak to MixApe.

You got a fantastic team, and congrats on the success.

All I can do is echo the MixApe weakness.

And maybe if Tyranitar is down, this team could have trouble with SubSplit Gengar.
