Trouble and Doubts with my OU Team

Introduction

First of all, I usually visit smogon forums but I have never posted anything. In fact I have been out of pokemon for a long time and I returned a few days ago.
I remaked my team a bit because everything changed, but after playing with it for some days, I think that there's something wrong, but I don't know what is it at all...
So I decided to post my team here and see what you think about it and what would you change, any help will be apreciatted.

Also, English is not my native language, so forgive me if I make some mistakes. Thank you.

(Keep in mind that this team is used in both Netbattle & DS wifi connection, so I can't use Skymin or the Rotom forms)

Let's take a closer look

venusaur.png

Venusaur @ Choice Scarf
Overgrow
56 HP / 200 Spd / 252 SpA
Timid

- Leaf Storm
- Sleep powder
- Earthquake
- Hp Ice

--

Venusaur is my starter. His main purpose is to put to sleep the enemy starter and switch to another pokémon. After that I use him to hit with Leaf Storm or to put other pokemon to sleep if the rival' starter wakes up.
Venusaur does well most of the time but I'm a bit unlucky and I tend to miss the sleep powder, anyway let's go to the next one.

heatran.png

Heatran @ Leftovers
Flash Fire
252 HP / 16 SpA / 240 Sp.Df -> defensively orientated, 240 SpD or Def?
Modest

- Will o Wisp
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Stealth rock

Yeah, a bit diferent from other heatran. I was looking for a pokemon to put SR and I wanted a steel type. I found Heatran. He walls a lot of pokemon pretty well, puts rocks and burns the enemy and it hasn't bad attacking stats. Usually people use fire versus my venusaur wich I can absorb with Flash Fire.

lucario.png

Lucario @ Life Orb
Inner Focus
252 Att / 32 Def / 152 Spd / 72 Sp.Df
Adamant

- Swords Dance
- Extremespeed
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat

Lucario is one of the pokemon that I had in my older team. He can revenge kill with the priority moves or Swords dance to attempt a sweep. I use both of the priority moves because I like being able to hit a lot more of things... for example, Gengar usually appears if I use Extremespeed, and receives the unexpected bullet punch in the face wich is a 1HKO. Close combat if the rival is slower than me.
I thought about switching this one for a Scizor with a similar set but I don't know if Bullet Punch + Quick attack will be as good as Extremespeed...

electivire.png

Electivire @ Life Orb
Motordrive
36 Att / 220 Spd / 252 SpA
Mild

- Cross Chop
- Thunderbolt
- Hp Ice
- Flamethrower

Electivire comes into play when I predict an electric move, wich it's not usually hard when I have gyarados in. After that I simply start sweeping with the four attacks until I have to switch or it faints.
It seems to me like a good strategy using Electivire when someone tries to use thunderbolt against my gyarados and apparently it should work, but I haven't been able to sweep well any team with this one. Maybe it's me or maybe it's not good enough.
I used some sort of MixApe before Electivire but I thought that trying to take advantage with motordrive could be a good idea, and lately I've been thinking about using Jolteon instead of Electivire.

Any suggestions? Some Help?

latias.png

Latias @ leftovers
Levitate
148 Hp / 252 Spd / 108 SpA
Timid

- Recover
- Dragon Pulse
- HP fire
- Calm Mind

I use Latias as my Special wall, replacing my old Blissey. There's not much to say here...
HP fire has killed some Scizors if I predict the switch in and she worked well walling some special threats. Also, after 1 or 2 Calm Minds I can try to sweep a bit their team.

gyarados.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Intimidate
6 Hp / 252 Att / 252 Spd
Adamant

- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Waterfall

Gyarados usually comes after Venusaur and starts Dragon Dancing or using a random Earthquake wich usually 1HKO some Jolteon... If the electric manages to get in, I switch to Electivire getting the speed boost. Gyarados Flying type makes him perfect to switch in when people use ground attacks against Electivire or Heatran.
I use leftovers because this way I don't suffer that much from Stealth rock, and I don't really need life orb after 1 or 2 dragon dances.

Conclusion

Not the best team around but not the worst either. It needs some changes and I would really apreciatte any recomendations or suggestions. Thank you and please, keep in mind that the team must be able to be used in both DS wifi and Netbattle.

How did you catch a good HP Fire Latias if it's for Wifi >_>
Anyway, I discourage any use of Electivire. Not much more to say, it is _dead weight_ if you can't get a speed boost, because of its subpar defenses.

Replace it with something like a Life Orb Jolteon (if you like using Gyarados to lure) or even a Flygon. Flygon has that handy Electric immunity, and you should run a Life Orb mixed set if you choose. You basically achieve the same thing that Electivire does - mopping the floor with weakened Pokemon. I think Roserade does Venusaur's role better due to higher Speed too.

On Lucario there is absolutely no need for both Bullet Punch and Extreme Speed.

Use Bullet Punch with Ice Punch or Extreme Speed with Crunch.

Use 88 HP/252 Atk/168 Spe Jolly on Gyarados, so that after 1 DD base 130's (Jolteon, Aerodactyl, lots of Scarfers) can't revenge kill you. It gets max lefties recovery as an added bonus

Those Latias EV's are bad. Use 204 HP/252 Spe/52 SpA or 204 HP/240 Spe/52 SpA. They both get max lefties recovery and enough Spe to beat infernape, but the second one sacrifices the Spe tie with Gengar and other base 110ers in exchange for some extra SpA. The Spe tie is more important IMO. If you want Latias to be a Special Wall, you could put the SpA investment into SpD for some extra padding. Or defense to deal with that side of the spectrum better.

That Heatran is kinda lame, too. If you want it to be defensive, use a + defense nature. Modest and 16 EV's is a waste. Go withCalm: 244 HP/248 SpD/16 SpA for Specially defensive. Gets max lefties, and hits a jump point in SpD, which is cool because Heatran has irregular, and thus much higher, jump points. The extra SpA can also go into Def. If you want to make it physically defensive, switch the nature to Bold and make the SpD EV's into Def EV's. There are other spreads, but seeing as you already had 252 HP and a bunch of defense EV's, I'm assuming you want a WallTran. I can give you offensive spreads or tankish spreads as well.

I second the removal of Electivire and Venasaur. Especially since you are using a mized Venasuar with a - Atk nature =/

I think ScarfBreloom is another option for your lead, as well as Toxic Spikes Roserade. Jolteon could work out for this team too, but then you have a Special Attacker overload. Swampert complements Gyarados well, as it resists both Rock and Electric. Although Swampert doesn't do well against Zapdos, a common Gyarados counter.

Swampert + Gyarados + Heatran is actually a really cool combination that I am currently using on my team. Together, they have a resistance to every type, and cover each other perfectly.

Gyarados's electric weakness = Swampert
Swampert's Grass weakness = Heatran
Heatran's ground weakness = Gyarados

perfect coverage, no?

Enjoy.

Bah, if pure going to run a gyarados in your core then you may want to run the defensive restalk gyara who truly will complete that defensive core, and will actually give you an answer to lucario.

Run stone edge over ice punch or crunch. It helps out a lot more in the long run as many counters can take Anr ice punch but lose to stone edge, zapdos in general. Sorry for the little rate, I'm on my itouch.

Firstly, I disagree with anyone who says Electivire is a 'noob's' Pokemon. News Flash: It's not. Electivire, with the changes we will make to it, will actually be good. Look at the top 10. Electivire can take on, and beat, 8 out of those 10, the only exceptions are Heatran (who will have a large dent in his metal exterior), and Latias. Your current Electivire isn't totally helpless against stall, but there is a better set out there. Naive @ Life Orb l 220 Spe / 252 SpA / 36 Atk l Hidden Power Grass / Thunderbolt / Flamethrower / Cross Chop. This spread looks very much like your current one, but it will work much better. The first positive of using this set comes with the nature. Naive gives you an extra bit of speed needed to outspeed neutral base 100s and positive base 90s. The second big difference is the moveset. Hidden Power Grass might not seem big, but it is. While still hitting Grounds SE, HP Grass takes care of Electivire's greatest threat, Swampert. Salamence is fried by Thunderbolt. So he should look like this:

Electivire @ Life Orb
Naive 220 Spe / 252 SpA / 36 Atk

~ Cross Chop
~ Thunderbolt
~ HP Grass
~ Flamethrower

Venusaur has got to go. He just doesn't perform as well as he does on paper. I see you're using Venusaur as a disrupting lead, in which case I have one of the best disruptors in the game that you can use as a lead. Jirachi. Firstly, he has a nice paralysis rate from Body Slam (60%), which, when combined with Iron Head's 60% flinch rate, makes it nearly impossible for the opponent to attack. U Turn also disrupts, by seeing what your opponent will do. SR can obviously help with the handling of things like Salamence.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Jolly 252 HP / 252 Spe / 4 Atk

~ Body Slam
~ Iron Head
~ U Turn
~ Stealth Rock

I hope I helped you

i'd highly recommend you switch your venasaur with a roserade. Roserade totally outclasses it as it can learn all his moves there (except earthquake) and more. If you want a good lead, you have to be able to out speed other leads and thats what a timid roserade will do for you. Not to mention it smuthers it in terms of special attack too. Ive suggested this seeing as you said you are using an OU team. Venasaur is UU.

And a side note, i would keep electivire instead of jolteon. He has a nice variety of moves to cover many types, but if speed is your game, then by all means, go with jolteon.

Goodluck with your team =D
