Troubleshooting.

Introduction: Hey all, this is my first RMT, I’ve been thinking about posting one for a little while, but I decided to wait until I was actually in need of assistance. Anyways, this is an offensive Ubers Team that I’ve been using, I peaked at around 1200 on the Standard Ubers ladder with it, but since then I haven’t won a match, I have a LOT of trouble against Stall, and I’d like some help with remedying that.
This team was designed during the earlier part of suspect testing, I wanted to get away from all the broken stuff in OU it was surprisingly successful but I bet it could use a lot more work. It’s built around having a few mini-strategies that I use to adapt to my opponent accordingly. Of course, these mini-strats are executed rather clumsily at the moment, but I bet I’ll get there in time.
The strategy that I actively attempt to execute is an Arceus sweep, followed by a Mewtwo sweep, with Reshiramu cleaning up late game. With Kyogre, Groudon and Forretress as defensive pivots in between sweeps.

sprite.php

Groudon @ Lum Berry
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Thunder Wave
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock

Groudon is my “Lead” and he does a good job, I often find myself leading with Kyogre or Forretress rather than Groudon, in which case I use him for midgame Thunder Wave support, but ultimately I find it best to run him in the lead spot. Against most leads I go for Thunder Wave, then Stealth Rock, then I use him as a Defensive Pivot/Ho-Oh+Rayquaza check with Stone Edge.

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Spikes
-Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Payback
This guy was a last minute addition who acted as glue for the team, he doesn’t do nearly as much as I would like him to, his only real purpose is to rapid spin, and I’ve been wondering if Hipmontop might make a good replacement, still, Forretress is rather valuable, and he’s also excellent at getting Palkia and Reshiramu chances to get in the fight. His resistances are useful, but he isn’t as bulky as I’d like him to be. He’s the most replaceable member of my team.

Palkia @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Spacial Rend
- Fire Blast

A useful Kyogre check, this guy also can soften up special walls which lack reliable recovery. Draco Meteor, Surf, and Spacial Rend are there for the obligatory STABS, while Fire Blast helps me hit things in the sun. I like switching this guy in after a Pokemon goes down then Revenge Killing with Spacial Rend, I prefer to keep Draco Meteor unrevealed, hoping to bluff it as Thunder. Then using it to bring something like Mewtwo dn

Reshiramu @ Life Orb
Trait: Turbo Blaze
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Outrage
- Draco Meteor
- Nitro Charge
- Blue Flame
This frequently exchanges roles with Mewtwo and Arceus as midgame-sweeper. It’s really a matter of when I get each of them in, however I prefer to have Reshiramu sweep latish game, not before I’m down to just a few pokes, but more around the time when major special walls are down for the count, he also wallbreaks admirably with Draco Meteor followed by Outrage. If I’m not using him in the midgame, he’s my lategame clean up, he doesn’t get that many full KO’s on his own, he Nitro Charges and rolls from there. I don’t think I use him as well as he could be, and he’s up there as “replaceable”

Arceus @ Life Orb
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- ExtremeSpeed
- Earthquake
- Shadow Claw

Midgame sweeper and Revenge Killer, Jolly is for scenarios where I’m doing something like Revenging an opposing Arceus. I usually Extremespeed off the bat, then switch outt, waiting until threats like Mewtwo are removed before I Swords Dance. I don't look at Arceus as a real sweeper, more like a "Revenge Killer with Swords Dance".

Mewtwo @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Aura Sphere
- Psycho Break
- Fire Blast

The doer of work. A great wallbreaker, I find that the only thing that can take him down is status, which Forretress should be preventing. I tend to have him come in after Arceus or Groudon dies or is slept, as often times he can hit the pokemon who did it hard with his varied movepool.

I'm going to add a full Threat List in a bit, for now, here are my main problems.

Mewtwo-I just don’t know how to counter him, Arceus performs okay with Shadow Claw followed by Extremespeed, but if the Mewtwo is at +1 Aura Sphere is a OHKO.
Nattorei and Kyogre Stall- The only thing I have that can scare Nattorei is Reshiramu, which is walled by Kyogre.

your probally going to need more of a description for your team unless if you dont add more decription this thread might be taken down

A quick rate since I'm going to bed soon, but Kyogre is a strange choice on a team that features Reshiram. I suggest you change it to ScarfPalkia with a set of Draco Meteor / Surf / Spacial Rend / Fire Blast, as it allows you to check a few more threats with certainty, doesn't bring rain, and is faster.

If you do this, run Fire Blast over Shadow Ball on Mewtwo. Sun-boosted Fire Blast is stronger than Super Effective Shadow Ball, and it hits Metagross, Scizor, Nattorei, Skarmory, and Forretress harder than Aura Sphere would.

@Dragonmist, duly noted, any comments about the team?
@IcyMan, Cool! I tried a few ladder matches, already liking Palkia more.

Gotta go in a minute so I can't give a full rate either, but what stands out to me the most is that you should switch surf to thunder on Palkia. You want to stay in the sun, so surf becomes useless. Thunder allows it to deal with Kyogre better.

Might also want to change shadow claw to shadow force if the damage output isn't high enough for you. Even with the charge-up stage, not much can take a +2 shadow force very well, besides normal-types.

Good luck

I'm not completely sure what purpose Forretress's Payback is for. If he's gonna be Taunt bait, switch him out. He's not weak to Pursuit or anything. I would say Explosion over Payback as it allows him to hurt something late game, especially something trying to clean up. If you're looking for a straightforward replacement, Blissey/Chansey are proper walls. Blissey just stops special attacks dead (even Specs Kyogre fails to OHKO her in the rain) whereas Chansey is more physically bulky (courtesy of evo stone). They can both learn Wish and Heal Bell, keeping your team good and healthy.

Payback is to hit the odd giratina-O switching in expecting him to rapid spin, it could be changed to Gyro Ball, I'm not looking to get rid of him seeing as his resistances and Toxic Spikes are way too integral to my play style, and one of the best checks against Mewtwo in this Metagame.

Fair point. Well if you're fearing Giratina-O, pull Forretress out for Palkia straight away as Giratina switches in, allowing you to hit Giratina hard (or switch) without hurting Palkia. Gyro Ball's a good idea though, I'd forgotten about it.
