Try To Tame ME!

Try To Tame Me!

Intro

So basically I am already bored with the metagame. I pretty much stopped playing for a solid month and decided I would try to come back and make a new team. This is my third or fourth try on making a decent Charizard X team (as opposed to my Mega Zard Y team who only took a single try to make a decent one) and I decided I would get help from a friend known as Woebegonenick. I don't really remember the exact process to making this team but I haven't changed a single thing on it since I've made it and it has laddered me to about 1450 on three different alts with next to no losses on each alt. I realize this probably means nothing in the current ladder but but like I said, I've pretty much dropped out of the metagame.

The Team

X or Y? (Charizard) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz

Around when I hit 1300 on the first alt I kinda realized how good of a lead Charizard X is against most common leads as long as they don't have a landorus t or gliscor. Basically what I started doing was Dragon Dancing on turn one and taking out about a third to half of my opponents team before turn ten even arrived. I really like Mega Zard X as it can serve as an excellent hole puncher early game or sweeper late game. Anyways my ev's are pretty straightforward, just maximize attacking prowess while the 4 def ev's allow me to switch in on rocks an extra time. I run Dragon Claw so I don't get stuck outraging in the event my opponent brings a fairy type. Flare Blitz is my other stab and it hits hard, dealing anywhere between seventy and eighty-two percent to standard Gliscor. Earthquake is used to give me perfect neutral coverage.

Tumble Dry (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 48 Spd / 208 SDef / 252 HP
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch

This right here has become my standard Rotom W spread for the meta. 48 spd allows me to outspeed 0 spd Landorus T, any common Azumarrill spread, and probably a lot of other things I haven't even noticed. The HP and Sp Def ev's allow me to tank a solarbeam from Mega Zard Y even with Stealth Rocks on my side of the field. The 0 atk iv is just meant to lower foul play damage. Hydro pump and volt switch are common stabs on Rotom Wash and since I am a defensive spread I have opted for Will o Wisp. I run Pain Split+Lefties over Resto Chesto because my Rotoms tend to take over 200% over the course of the game as Rotom is good for sponging hits from a LOT of the meta.

Mufasa (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 20 Spd / 252 HP / 236 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Landorus Therian sponges hits for days. I almost wish it had some form of revovery but then I realize how intimidating that would be. Lando helps a lot with Aegislash who isn't too threatening until late game when my team is weakened and Rotom is possibly gone/so weak it can't take a shadow sneak. Anyways I have 20 Spd ev's so random Rotoms won't speed creep me. The rest of my ev's are placed in def and hp to allow me to tank physical hits like it is nothing. I have Stealth Rock as it is clearly the greatest move in the game and absolutely no team in existence can function properly without it. In all reality a good team can be made without rocks but my team really enjoys them. Anyways Earthquake is STAB that has excellent coverage with Stone Edge, I round out my moveset with U-Turn since it's just an excellent move all around.

Big Bad Sp Atk (Azumarill)
@ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 88 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Waterfall

Azumarill here is the best AV Conk counter in the game. Not only that but he also helps a ton with opposing Charizard X's that don't run thunderpunch. Anyways onto my weird ev spread. 88 spd enables me to outspeed Sylveon and Azumarill that try to outspeed Sylveon as well as the most common Scizor set. 4 SDef ev's give Genesect the physical download boost which allows me to easily take a thunderbolt. I then dumped the rest of my ev's into Hp and Atk with and adamant nature to just hit stuff hard with. Aqua Jet is priority which my team needs as it is fairly slow, Waterfall and Play Rough are my hard hitting stab for when I am in against something slower than me. Lastly Superpower gives me coverage against things like Ferrothorn and Chansey that are above 50%.

FullMetal (Scizor)
@ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Defog
- Superpower
- U-turn

Alright, I REALLY needed a defogger/spinner. Also, I needed more priority. Because in this metagame priority should be your priority to have. That and my team is really slow. Anyways I had no idea what the best ev spread for Scizor is now so I broke out my old anti Modest Mouse Magnezone spread. Honestly I'll probably switch this spread ASAP to another offensive spread that is recommended. I considered running metal plate to fake the band but this is clearly my Defogger so I saw no point in trying to fake people out. Bullet Punch is for priority (seriously guys, this much priority is needed. I'm half surprised I ran Zard over TFlame and Gengar over Aegi) and Defog is Defog and those are basically the only reasons I'm using Scizor. Well, it also makes a good volt turn core with Rotom and Lando T. Anyways Superpower lets me hit weakened Defensive Heatran and Zone and whatever else I run into. Lastly U-Turn is stab, switch inititiative, and just pure utility.

Meet Me in the Alley ;) (Gengar) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Disable
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball

I basically added Gengar since I needed something above the 100 base speed stat and I like Gengar. Plus he hard walls Gliscor which is a huge thumbs up as my team is mostly Physical attackers if you somehow missed that (I highly doubt it). Anyways ev's are standard for Sub-Disable Gengar, with a minimized Atk stat in case my opponents foul play user is burned (which somehow lowers the damage done) so I can take it better. Sub-Disable is pretty standard and is excellent for mono attackers or mons with a single move that can break the sub. Shadow ball is stab and insanely standard. I run Dazzling Gleam since it has near perfect neutral coverage with Shadow Ball but I won't miss like I will if I run Focus Blast. Yes I lose out on power. Yes I don't hit Steel types super effectively. But I won't miss a game changing move.

Outro

Oh my god never make one of these things while you are tired and hungry. Anyways thanks for reading, please rate and tell me how bad the team is. You should definitely complain about how bad my grammar was during this. Thanks again.

Threatlist

Mandibuzz - I think all I have for this is Rotom. It does tons of damage to most of my team and it just is not pretty at all to face.

Have you considered running Adamant over Jolly on your Charizard? With Genesect gone what do you outspeed with Jolly that you don't outspeed with Adamant after one Dragon Dance?
