VGC Trying to get a VGC team going

Hi all, I finally decided given VGC is coming up soon I should give it a try and make a decent team. I think my team i fairly well balanced. I'm using some generic sets for some Pokemon but also added my own unique (i think) aspects as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Landorus-Therian @ Yache Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Knock Off
- Protect

Here is your fairly typical Lando-T set. i run protect instead of U-Turn mainly because i find I rarely use U-Turn and many times protect has won me battles. I like using the Yache Berry for a surprise factor being able to stay in and potentially take out a big threat on the opponents team and because of Lando-T's bulk it usually can survive an ice beam. I also think because of the power in my other Pokemon a choice band/life orb/choice scarf is not necessary.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Icy Wind
- Destiny Bond
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave

Honesty I love this Gengar set. it's high speed allows me to hit first with icy wind and because of its high Sp.Atk still does huge damage. shadow ball and sludge bomb are there for STAB coverage and destiny bond is there if i get reduced to my focus sash I can use destiny bond and take out a threat early on. I usually use Gengar as one of my leads as it has great synergy with Lando-T who I also usually lead with.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 60 SpA / 44 SpD / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

Ahh good ol' resto chesto rotom-w. I don't remember why i chose these EV's so can't really help there. But yeh this is to specifically counter Talonflame, Mega Kang and any other strong physical pokemon. Also given the resurgence of rain teams Rotom-W I believe is a necessity.

Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Pursuit

I love this Tyranitar set. Assault Vest + the Sp.Def boost from Sandstorm turns Tyranitar into a monster especially given I can focus the EV investment into offence. the move set is pretty generic however i'm not sure about pursuit. I don't really use it but I need an offensive move because of Assault Vest.

Talonflame @ Sky Plate
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Atk / 52 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Tailwind
- Quick Guard

This Talonflame I like because it still provides an offensive threat whilst also having the versatility of a support Pokemon with tailwind and Quick Guard. Tailwind is one of the reasons Lando-T doesn't have a Choice Scarf. The EV spread allows it to still be offensively threatening but also give it a bit of bulk and sustainability. I give it sky plate because I don;t really know what other item to give it and any added power to Brave Bird is always good.

Kangaskhan-Mega (F) @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Parental Bond
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Facade
- Fire Punch
- Power-Up Punch

I want to have a Mega on my team but i'm not sure which one is best. I've tried other megas like Metagross but i found I wasn't using it. Kang has been pretty good especially with fire punch which no one expects. I also need something that can easily take out pokemon weak to fire but will not suffer from having the weaknesses that a fire-type has. I feel if I keep Kang it'll need Sucker Punch but I don't know which move to get rid of.

Thanks for reading and any help with be greatly appreciated.

Your team looks really solid! Though I have a few recommendations ...

Tyranitar is an ok Pokemon in the current meta, but AV and physically offensive sets aren't really good. Since your team is also absolutely crushed by strong Fairy-types such as Specs Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir, Tyranitar is not really appealing on your team. Instead, using something better that is not weak to Fairy-type would be better. I recommend either Amoonguss or Aegislash, both which are not only extremely viable but also help against Fairy types and other threats. Rage Powder and Spore are fantastic moves, especially with the bulk of Amoonguss. While Substitute+KS and Shadow Ball/Flash Cannon combo is fantastic on Aegislash.

Although this is preference based, I recommend using Gengarite over Focus Sash on Gengar, and considering Focus Blast over Icy Wind. I always like to have 2 megas on one team in VGC, because that will make the team more versatile and better against different match-ups.

Finally, Mega Kangaskhan is really good Pokemon, but I question Fire Punch, I know it hits Ferrothorn, but that's all it really does. I recommend using Low Kick instead, which not only still does a lot to Ferrothorn, but also hits a lot of different things such opposing mega kangs and Heatran. Sucker Punch is also almost mandatory on Mega Kangaskhan, since it serves as priority and hits things like Aegislash and Gengar (Mega) if kang has lost scrappy by mega evolving. So I recommend Sucker Punch over either Fake Out or Power-Up Punch.
