Hey there, haven't posted in a while...been off the competitive scene since Platinum came out, but I'm trying to get back into battling again...good thing that my teams are still stored on my computer, but I'm a bit rusty with them.
Here's something I put together for OU, managed to do some testing with it earlier, it does ok but it is lacking.
Bronzong @ Macho Brace
Ability: Heatproof
EVs: 252 HP/86 Atk/80 Def/92 SDef
Sassy nature
- Gyro Ball
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock
- Trick
---
Bronzong lead for setting up Rocks...for some reason I've been running into BP teams lately, so this does a good job getting rid of Ninjask. I like the unusual use of Heatproof, so far only one person has EQ'd it, for some reason I don't know how they knew...Trick to swap Macho Brace (a bit gimmicky) and Explosion has managed to do ok, although I have misplayed it once or twice.
Scizor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature
- Bullet Punch
- Brick Break
- Quick Attack
- Swords Dance
---
Figured this thing was gonna get big once Platinum came out, and it seems to do the job. I haven't actually gotten to take him out except on a few times, but it was the opponent's last Pokemon so I haven't been able to test its sweeping capabilities. Plan is to switch this in after Memento if I need to do a physical sweep. Had a matchup against a Superpower Scizor and lost, so I'm considering what to do with Brick Break.
Azelf @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 30 HP/228 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Flamethrower
---
Special sweeper. Levitate is a nice switch-in if they try to EQ Heatran (possibly Bronzong) Haven't actually gotten to set up Nasty Plot yet, but it's been able to do well hitting hard if my enemy has been fairly weakened.
Latias (F) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Surf
- Toxic
---
Bait Latias moveset. I am able to switch it in on an EQ or anything that resists it...I gave it Toxic to stop anything from trying to set up, but it feels like I'm spreading it too widely and it weakens its capability.
Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP/220 Spd/32 SAtk/14 SDef
Calm nature
- Torment
- Protect
- Lava Plume
- Substitute
---
I am actually enjoying Torment Heatran...it lets me scout my opponent's moves so it helps me learn about the more prevalent movesets out there. The burn from Lava Plume increases the stalling power of this thing, Substitutes last longer and Protect gives me a free turn to heal and do damage. Torment hasn't actually been used except once so I'm iffy on keeping it.
Dusknoir (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/30 Atk/228 Def
Impish nature
- Earthquake
- Memento
- Pain Split
- Will-o-wisp
---
Fairly standard except I gave it Memento instead of an elemental punch. I figured that on its last legs it can use Memento that would let me set up either Azelf or Scizor...this thing is just asking for Gyara and Salamence to set up DD though :/
------------------------------------------------------
Haven't gotten to test this much but I've noticed that I'm lacking a counter against Water-types and most Flying-types if I don't have rocks set up. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
