ORAS UU Trying to make Houndoom M work

See the title. I'm a big fan of Houndoom ever since the first Gold/Silver games where released and was very exited for his mega evolution. However, Houndoom M is considered one of the weakest Mega pokemon in this Tier because of his bad abillity and dependency of Sun and Wish support.

Nevertheless this cute dog has a great sweeper potential so I wanna try it out!

This is my set.

Houndoom @ Houndoominite
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 40 HP / 216 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
- Will-O-Wisp

Pretty standard, I play Flamethrower over Fire Blast because of the accuracy. Flamethrower is more than enough with 140 base SpA, Sun, Solar Power and Nasty Plot. Even Assault Vest Snorlax is a 2HKO. Pretty OP.

vaporeon.gif

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 204 HP / 52 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Scald
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Houndoom appreciates Wish and Heal Bell support, and Vaporeon appreciates a Strong Fire Type. Nothing more to say here. Also my special wall.

celebi.gif

Celebi @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb
- Zen Headbutt
- U-Turn

This completes my core. I really want a physical Sweeper/Wallbreaker against Assault Vest users and Celebi can surprise my opponents when they expect a special set with Solar Beam and switch into their special wall. The switch allows me to get a free Swords Dance and let me sweep or at least deal some serious damage before switching out with U-Turn. I'm not sure if Adamant or Jolly is better but I need the additional damage I guess.

arcanine.gif

Arcanine @ Heat Rock
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Morning Sun
- Sunny Day
- Flare Blitz
- Extreme Speed

Dogs are Pack Animals and Arcanine is Houndooms best friend when he calls the sun with Sunny Day. Morning Sun for recovery, enhanced by Sunny Day and Heat Rock to maximize the Sun Turns. Flare Blitz because it hits hard even without attack investment and Extrme Speed for my missing priority.

Things I need now are:

- Hazard Control (!!!)
- Ground Immunity (!!)
- Stealth Rocks (!)
- Lightning Immunity
- Knock off
- Scarfer

Thats alot and I have only 2 Slots left. I don't know how I can effectively fill this holes.
I think, Zapdos is pretty good because it provides both immunities AND Hazard Control.

For the last Slot I'm thinking about Empoleon for Knock off and Stealth Rocks but that leaves me without a Scarfer. This is why I need your help. An Other Option is Porygon Z with scarf and Trick which is even better than knock off against things like Umbreon.

Can I play without Rocks or have I change my core to get them somehow?

Looks like a decent core to work with. I'll give it a shot. Right now, your team has only one way to set up Sunny Day. Once Arcanine goes down, your main strategy goes kaput.

Houndoom @ Houndoominite
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 40 HP / 216 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower/Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse
- Taunt

I would replace Will-o-Wisp with Taunt so that you have a way to deal with Pokemon that would cripple your sweeper with status conditions. Fire Blast is abit risker than Flamethrower but would increase your damage output so I'll leave that up to you; both are fine options. Everything else on Houndoom looks good.

Now from here, we can look at what else you feel that your team needs. Hazard Control, Stealth Rocks, and a Lightning Immunity can be taken cared of by one pokemon, Donphan.

donphan.gif

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Donphan brings great physical bulk to your team and can set up/remove hazards. Ice Shard is a good priority move and Earthquake provides some decent STAB damage.

You've also stated that you need a scarf user. This next pokemon can definitely use a Choice Scarf, but Choice Band allows it to destroy alot of things in UU. My recommendation?
latest

Darmanitan @ Choice Band / Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- U-turn

I'll leave the Choice of item up to you but here are some calculations showing the difference between Choice Band and Scarf:

252 Atk Choice Band Sheer Force Darmanitan Flare Blitz vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Swampert in Sun: 233-275 (58.1 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Sheer Force Darmanitan Flare Blitz vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Swampert in Sun: 156-184 (38.9 - 45.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (Choice Scarf)

252 Atk Choice Band Sheer Force Darmanitan Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Suicune in Sun: 198-234 (49 - 57.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Sheer Force Darmanitan Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Suicune in Sun: 132-156 (32.6 - 38.6%) -- 98.9% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (Choice Scarf)

Now that this is out of the way, we can focus on your Sunny Day Setters. Arcanine just isn't going to cut it. Since you also want knock off support on your team, I do have a pokemon in mind that can also serve as a lead.

sableye.gif

Sableye @ Heat Rock (LEAD)
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Sunny Day
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Taunt

Sableye's Prankster Ability guarantees that your will have Sun up on Turn One. Knock off is there to remove items from your opponents. Recover for sustain and Taunt to prevent yourself from being crippled with status conditions. Taunt also benefits from Prankster's priority.

For your second Sunny Day Setter, you've expressed the need for a Ground Immunity. While there are some options available, you also need something that can switch in on fighting types that can threaten Mega Houndoom in addition to having that ground immunity. One pokemon in UU comes to mind
cresselia.gif

Cresselia (F) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sunny Day
- Moonlight
- Lunar Dance
- Moonblast

Cresselia is stupidly bulky in UU and can give your team exactly what it needs. Levitate gives you a ground immunity. With Sun out, Moonlight heals for 2/3 of your max HP. Moonblast for handling any fighting/dark/dragon types. Lunar dance works like healing wish in which Cresselia would faint and the next pokemon out gets their HP and PP restored and all status conditions removed.

And to finally round out your team:
vaporeon.gif

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 204 HP / 52 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Scald
- Heal Bell
- Protect/Toxic

Your Vaporeon setup from before was fine. Only recommendation is to run Toxic over Protect to give your opponents additional pressure. Scald for STAB damage and the burn Chance. Wish for self/team sustain and heal bell to remove status.

TL;DR
Houndoom: Taunt > Will-o-Wisp
Darmanitan > Celebi
Sableye > Arcanine
+Cresselia
+Donphan
Vaporeon: Toxic>Protect

Hope it helps :)
