Tryinn to comeback ;) -sandstorm team

Hey guys im from the marriland forums, where I used to be a great battler. I even came over here and I was pretty good for a while, but then i dropped out and now im trying to get back so..... this is

The Comeback

Hippowdon (M)

@ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock

- Alrighty I chose Hippowdon as my lead because he's bulky and with this bulk he gets the job done that i need him to do, which is set up rock and try and scout the opponents lead (as well as setting up sand)

Ferrothorn (M)

@ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 196 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Power Whip
- Thunder Wave

My seconed pokemon is Ferrothorn, I chose ferrothorn because this thing is a TANK. It walls almost everything that comes at Hippowdon with the exception of any fire type moves haha :) Other than that I know I can count on this guy to set up spikes as well as take some hits for the HIPPO.

Doryuuzu (Excadrill) (M)

@ Air Balloon
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

Here is the King!!! Without this guy this team would not have been made :) He is the core, and the reason that the teams synergy is so well. He is amazing with sandstorm going and with one SD up he is nearly unstoppable. Now, the set on this guy is somewhat standard with one exception, I chose rapid spin on this little guy because I caught myself time and time again getting screwed by stupid little spikers and i had NO WAY of getting rid of them. Sooooooo, what did I do you ask?? I got rid of X- scizzor and swithed it for RS which so far has worked particularly well :) but if you guys feel that I should switch back or if you have a different set please do share :)

Salamence (M)

@ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Dragon Tail
- Flamethrower
- Protect
- Wish

This mence is actually very bulky considering that most other mences are Sweeper mences haha :) I went with this set and ev's because i really needed ad scouter and mence is actually a really good one :) he has flamethrower to threaten annoying forretress's and Ferrothorn's that think they can set up on me. Now I went with flamethrower over fire blast mainly just because of accuracy I really didnt want to afford a match on the chance of a fire blast missing so i kept flamethrower instead. Dragon tail is to scout, Protect againt to scout movesets and wish to heal up :)

Blissey (F)

@ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Toxic
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss

Hahaha yesss!!!!!!! This poke has saved me many times mainly because its very annoying and most trainers just give up after a while. Basically you cant ignore this things stats. There incredible! This set is pretty much standard, nothing really special here :)

Jellicent) (M)

@ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Recover
- Shadow ball
- Taunt

This guy is one of my personal favorites :) He is extremely bulky and and takes many of the blows aimed at mence or hippowdon :) he has saved me many times :) along with his set its pretty standard but also needs work so if you have ideas please LMK!

Conclusion
In conclusion, this team has won many and lost many but I really need help making this team as best as possible so please help me out it will be much appreciated :) Thankyou :))

At a glance I can see that you have a nasty weakness to Conkeldurr, who could easily sweep half your team. Jellicent is a nice start to counter this threat but I think you need some added support. Maybe Latias with a Calm Mind set, or a Skarmory that could set up entry hazards while fighting types struggle to bring him down. Also loose Rapid Spin on Excadrill, he is to fragile for stuff like that, he is meant to sweep not to counter area hazards. But of course this is my opinion and if it works for you thats great.
Good Luck, Dragone

Hmmmm. Thankyou :) noww.. what should i switch latias or skarmory for on my team?? and what should i switch rapid spin for??

Wish and sooftboiled is redundant on the same blissey set.

use
Wish+Protect
or
Softboiled+Aromatheroply

Calm Mind Reuniclus is going to cause you massive trouble. It's not affected by indirect damage and can set up easily versus Ferrothorn | Blissey | Hippowdon. Your best bet is to keep phazing it with Mence (it won't like taking +1 Psychics though) until it's the last Pokemon, and then try to stop it with Taunt Jellicent, but that is too risky of a strategy to work against more competent players. How about trying a Latias in place of Blissey? It still tanks special attacks with ease, but Latias's Calm Mind shuffle set abuses your multiple hazards immensely well and checks Reuniclus very efficiently - you both boost up to +6, you Roar it out and eliminate the boosts, sweep.

Latias @ Leftovers | Timid | EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Calm Mind | Recover | Dragon Pulse | Roar

Just a minor nitpick: run Relaxed (+Def, -Spe) on Salamence so you don't unnecessarily cut Flamethrower's power (Impish is a -SpA nature). With these changes your team looks very solid, good luck.

I dont see much other than what BKC said and take rapid spin off Excadrill, no need for that and replace it for X-scizzor. Other than that nice team.

Just do what BKC says and you should be fine. You don't really have a Conkeldurr weakness because a) Salamence checks it SO well and b) Latias (once you get one) also checks it amazingly

The team looks pretty solid, but there are some things you can fix to make it much more effective. First, I see a huge problem for the team against Reuniclus. A CM + Recover Reuniclus can give this team a big problem. Not to mention, your Blissey fails to stop Gengar. Without any attacking moves it can't do anything to Gengar. I suggest replacing Hippowdon for CB Tyranitar, that way you can beat Reuniclus switch to Ninetales or Politoed safely, which Hippowdon fails to do. You can also give Tyranitar Stealth Rock even though it's Choice Band. You have ample amount of way to set up Stealth Rock and swtich out. Here's the Tyranitar set:

Tyranitar @ Choice Band -- Sand Stream
Nature: Adamant - EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spd
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

Next, since you're team is so weak to Excadrill and Terrakion, I suggest replacing Salamence for a true counter to these threats, a Gliscor. Here's the Gliscor set:

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb -- Poison Heal
Nature: Impish - EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Ice Fang

Now for the problem with Gengar, I suggest making your Blissey into the standard Wish passer with Flamethrower to inflict damage to Gengar. Here's new the Blissey set:

Blissey @ Leftovers -- Natural Cure
Nature: Bold - EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish

Try it out and good luck!

Eternal - Thankyou so much :) im definitely going to try these out right now. Also, I shouldnt switch bliss to a latias then?
