Other Metagames Twisted Dimensions team I created

After my last post here I figured that I not only pay more attention to what I’m writing, but also not wait until the last few days to post a RMT of a monthly OM.

The team presented below is one that I have experimented with quite a bit on the ladder for it. This is more or less my final rendition of the team, as I will briefly touch on whatever original content there was before.

Hatterene @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Calm Mind
- Draining Kiss
- Psyshock
- Mystical Fire

Starting off, Hatterene is a strong special attacker. Magic Bounce is good for preventing stealth rock from Torkal or other hazard setting leads. It has good match-ups against things like Iron Hands, Hydrapple, clodsire, among some other less common but still relatively used mons. Calm Mind can potentially turn it into a power sweeper if given the right opportunity.

Glastrier @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Chilling Neigh
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Curse
- Icicle Crash
- Close Combat
- High Horsepower

Glastrier honestly feels like cheating to use at times. Its legendary stats and incredibly low speed means it will often survive strong blows and easily outspeed. All it takes is one or two curses and it’ll single-handedly snowball through the opponent’s entire team. High Horsepower is able to deal with threats like Torkal and Iron Hands, while Close Combat can deal strong neutral or super effective damage to a plethora of things. The only downside is that it can’t really do much against Dondozo or occasionally trapinch, and losing it can really turn the whole game around.

Appletun @ Iron Ball
Ability: Thick Fat
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Apple Acid
- Dragon Pulse
- Leech Seed / Dragon Tail
- Recover

Appletun, in my opinion at least, is better than Hydrapple. While Hydrapple is more physically bulky and deals more damage, Appletun is both slower, has more hp to sponge hits, Thick Fat to survive better against those threats, and can deal more damage overtime thanks to apple acid. Iron Ball is to ensure it moves first than other things that could be a threat to it to deal the first blow, and often ensure being able to use recover before taking damage. I only really made it to be a counter against Dondozo, but it still has other things it can check. You can also run dragon tail over leech seed if you want to switch out something that is or has set up.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock / Skill Swap
- Psychic Noise
- Body Press
- Heavy Slam

Bronzong feels very slept on in this format. It’s steel-physic typing is great as, along with its levitate ability, it can checks things like Iron Hands, Clodsire, Hatterene, Hydrapple, conkeldurr, and occasionally some others. Alternatively, you can run Skill Swap over Stealth Rock for more niche situations; like using it on Dondozo to better allow yours to either outpower theirs or force a switch-in. It can also be done with Glastrier to prevent the opponent from easily snowballing, along with other minor scenarios.

Dondozo @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Waterfall

Dondozo is a great pick thanks to its bulk and ability. If the opponent has no special attacker or reliable way to deal enough damage to it when it starts spamming curse, then there’s not much else they can do. I originally had Galarain Slowking in its place, running a Pivot future sight set, but Dondozo proved to be much better.

Garganacl @ Leftovers / Iron Ball
Ability: Purifying Salt
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 52 Def / 204 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Curse
- Salt Cure
- Recover
- Earthquake

Garganacl is the final addition to the team, meant to help deal with offensive torkal leads and deal strong chip damage. Curse is an option as a possible secondary win condition. Iron ball can be used in replacement of Leftovers to ensure it moves faster than Torkal and most other mons, as well as usually allowing the use of moves like salt cure and recover first. Coalossal can also be used instead if you desire more fire power as it was my pick at first, but I figured the added chip and bulk.

Let me know what yall think and if there’s any improvements that could be made.
