Newbie to the ORAS metagame here. Making a team based on the one of the newest Megas: Lopunny. Looking for advice and rating on how well I made this team. I tried to have a variety of types for most of the Pokemon that may come my way. On the defensive side I have Venusaur, Sableye, and Azumarril. Attacking-wise I have M-Lopunny, Heatran, Latios and Azumarril. Prefer to not worry about Hidden Power, Powersave only Pokemon, or Transfer-only moves. Still testing so I am not exactly sure of the threats to my team. Here is a small breakdown:
Lopunny-Mega (F) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
The Main Physical Sweeper is the lovely M-Lopunny. Probably the one I would Lead the most because of Fake-Out and Scrappy. My favorite Mega to come out of ORAS, she is going to be the fast physical attacker to bring the pain to everyone. A great Fake Out user and she bring the power with STAB Return and HJK despite of any Ghost-types that may have been used to neutralize these moves. Ice Punch is the recommend filler move to bring more pain to others, especially Dragon and Ground types.
Sableye (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Foul Play
- Taunt
Specially Defensive Prankster is the mischievous Sableye. Being part-wall, part-annoyer of the team. Burn the physical attackers with Will-o-Wisp and Recover when HP is getting low. Foul Play is obvious with its low attack stat and Taunt for the ones trying to set me up with hazards and such. Not sure if he is the best fit this team but another Pokemon I have wanted to use, would to keep on team.
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Ancient Power
Specially attacking with Legendary Fire and Steel is Heatran. The typing helps in resisting those Fairy types that threaten M-Lopunny and Sableye and it brings it power with coverage of Fire, Steel, Ground, and Rock. Overheat and Flash Cannon are the main STAB attacks. Ancient Power is more reliable than Stone Edge and Earth Power for variety. Scarf and Max Speed makes him a bit quicker on the go.
Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Surf (not sure if this the best move to use for this team)
My other Special Attacking Latios. The Levitating Dragon brings it power with coverage of Dragon, Psychic, and Water. Draco Meteor is amazing STAB power. Psyschock, attacking lower defensive Pokemon with Latios' high SpAtk. Roost will help out when my Latios has taken too many hits. Surf is a powerful attack that hits many types, but not too sure if it is the best move for my team. Life Orb adds to the power it brings to my team.
Venusaur @ Black Sludge
Ability: Overgrow
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Leech Seed
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
Standing strong defensively is the Tough Venusaur. Healing itself is the main point of the set This Behemoth is a wall that keep on defending. Low on HP? Leech Seed, Black Sludge, and Synthesis to keep him in the game. Sludge Bomb to hurt and potentially poison those who want to stand against him and Giga Drain to keep that recovery coming on.
Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Aqua Tail or Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
The bulkly attacking rabbit of water is Azumarill. Assault vest gives him the freedom for variety and boost in defensive capabilities. Priority attacking in the form of a destructive Aqua Jet. Play Rough and Aqua Tail/Waterfall will bring physical pain and Knock off to get rid of those annoying items being used against my team. Strong attack, strong defense.
Lopunny-Mega (F) @ Lopunnite
