Typhlosion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Eruption
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Focus Blast
Typhlosion is the heart of this team and its main sweeper. At first, I was trying to decide whether to use a choice scarf or choice specs, but went with the latter purely because of the raw power it gives eruption. Of course, this means that it can't outspeed everything, making Ferrothorn and Galvantula very important in this team. Flamethrower is the backup fire move when Typhlosion is low on health, and focus blast and hidden power grass provide coverage.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Thunder Wave
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Power Whip
Ferrothorn is one of the more important Pokemon in this team, providing thunder wave and spikes support. Thunder wave is especially important because I run specs on Typhlosion, and any damage it takes will severely limit its sweeping capabilities. Leech seed is to allows it to stall out Pokemon or force switches, while power whip prevents it from being complete taunt bait and helps it check water types.
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Waterfall
- Roar
- Earthquake
Swampert' role on this team is to set up stealth rocks, phaze and provide some coverage. Like spikes with ferrothorn, stealth rocks would be greatly appreciated by Typhlosion as they increase the chance of a one hit KO and prevent Typhlosion from taking any damage.
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover
Latios is there to switch in on earth type moves and work as a backup sweeper to Typhlosion. Draco meteor hits most Pokemon for pretty good damage, while Psyshock hits special walls such as Blissey. Hidden Power Fire checks Scizor, Ferrothorn and other steel types while roost counters the damage done by Life Orb recoil.
Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Donphan's sole purpose in this team is to rapid spin away entry hazards, as they would severely limit Typhlosion's eruption sweep. Ice shard checks ground/flying and dragon/flying types while stone edge checks Talonflame, Charizard Y and flying types. Earthquake is the STAB move of choice here.
Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
Calm Nature
- Sticky Web
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Thunder Wave
Galvantula is the lead here, and it does a pretty good job. It is probably the most important support to Typhlosion due to sticky web and another thunder wave option other that Ferrothorn. Thunder and bug buzz are decent STAB moves if it actually needs to fight.
