U-Turn!!!(OU)

This is my second RMT, sadly the other one got closed due to it not meeting standards…This is my first team where I added poke mom to counter OU threats. In my other teams, I just got six random pokemon. I think this one is good though. So my team revolves around the move U-Turn. I always used the move on my favorite lead: moltres. But I never realized how good of a move it was.

And a closer look.

Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
Evs: 252Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
Jolly (+Spd, -Satk)
-Taunt
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
-Rock Slide
My favorite lead has always been Moltres. However, for this team I needed to set down those rock as early as possible. Also, since I’ll be switching as much as my opponet I needed to keep those damn rocks out of my field. I found Aerodactyl. He is terribly fast, able to out speed most other leads, while setting up my rocks. This goes perfectly with my team. The only pokemon able to out speed Aerodactyl are choice scarfers. But choice users are meant to take out leads, not set up rocks, so it works just as good for me.The only problem pokemon are priority users and that monster Metagross. Possibly the biggest threat to this lead. Against Metagross ill have to predict correctly, either taunt or stealth rock the first turn.

Swanpert (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Evs: 252Hp/252 Def/4 Atk
Impish (+Def, -Satk)
-Earthquake
-Avalanche
-Protect
-Roar
Swanpert…My biggest fear and my most used pokemon. In almost every team I have had a Swanpert. They are sooo Reliable. But at the same time it is the pokemon I fear the most. All my other teams have had trouble with this tyrant. Sure it cant heal itself, but taking it down is hard. This monster alone got me to add Celebi to my team. So yeah this Swanpert is my counter to heatran lacking Hidden power Grass. Though most are choiced so this guy beats them pretty easily. Also my last resort against DD Salamence and DD Gyarados(With or Without substitute). The reason I have protect is for information, and protection against exploders like heatran and to check out what moves choice users have. The reason I don’t have waterfall is that with ice-ground I can hit just about everythin. Roar is for substitute users and to haze oppoents.

380.png

Latias(F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 252 SAtk/252 Spd/4 HP
Modest (+SAtk, -Atk)
-Draco Meteor
-Thunderbolt
-Surf
-Trick
Latias, the most beautiful OU. This is my favorite dragon, and my second favorite legendary( Jirachi is my fav) This Latias is a check to that horrible Salamence and that ugly Gyarados. I chose Modest for more power. Since my team revolves around switching those damn dragons should never be able to get two dances. Draco Meteor is a cool attack. Also, latias draws Scizor and Tyranitars. Which is just what I want. Though I have to predict them coming in earlier in the fight. Also I don’t have a problem with Tyranitar. Hes cool.

212.png

Scizor(F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Evs: 252Atk/252 HP/4 Spd
Adamant (+Atk, -Satk)
-U-Turn
-Pursuit
-Superpower
-Bullet Punch
Scizor is a main part of my team. Scizor causes some switches as long as the opposing pokemon is not weak to pursuit. And those switches are what I want, U-Turn is my teams goal and main Attack. Scizor will almost always use U-Turn first, to get a better match up and to spread around stealth rock damage. Swanpert and Latias are in my team because Gyarados and Heatran are its most common switch ins. U-Turn will hurt even Gyarados and so will Stealth Rock.

251.png

Celebi (N) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
Evs: 252SAtk/252 Spd/4 HP
Modest (+SAtk, -Atk)
-U-Turn
-Leaf Storm
-Hidden Power (Fire)
-Earth Power
Celebi is my anti-Swanpert. If that Tyrant shows his face, so will Celebi. Again, U-Turn is my main Attack here. None will keep their Swanpert against Celebi…NO ONE. So U-Turn will hit either Tyranitar or Scizor. Modest is used since U-Turn Is for scouting, not for Koing. And next time im facing the same Swanpert I know what counters my opponet has. And if its Tyranitar, I have it made since, both Swanpert and Tyranitar share the same weakness. Against that Omni present Scizor, I got Hidden Power Fire. Lastly I got Earth Power for Heatran,

Infernape (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Evs: 252Atk/62 SAtk/192 Spd
Naive (+Spd, -Def)
-U-Turn
-Close Combat
-Overheat
-Stone Edge

This is my late game sweeper, notice how he also has U-Turn. If I need to use him earlier, ill use U-Turn to hopefully land a super effective hit on Latias. Though its meant to see what my opponet has to counter this cute monkey. If it Gyarados, I can use stone edge next turn.Plus stealth rock damage too. Infernape is meant to sweep the opponet when everything is either hurt or dead. I like it to be somewhat mixed so it wont be completely walled by defensive teams.

STRATEGY-
So my strategy should be simple. Use U-Turn to take out that cute monkeys counters, then sweep.

Threats-

dpicon130.png
Gyarados- Stone Edge Plus Stealth Rock. Latias, and swanpert(Roar)

dpicon373.png
Salamence-Stealth Rock and Stone edge. Latias, swanpert.

dpicon485.png
Heatran- Swanpert. Though Torment Heatran can be bothersome. Though it lacks the speed to beat my monkey.

dpicon212.png
Scizor-Infernape, if swords dancer Swanpert, Plus HP Fire From Celebi.

dpicon245.png
Suicuine-Celebi, hopefully OHKO whith celebi. And a weakend one, close combat from the monkey.

Bulky waters are generally handled by Celebi. And so is Hippowdon.

NOTE: Should is stick with physically based mix ape? When answering, take into account that grass knot should not be needed for waters, since they should be weak enough to take down with close combats. But for late game sweeper, which is better?

NOTE 2: You may suggest a spinner or blocker to keep the opponents rocks. But my team is extremely fast paced,(epcept swanpert). A spinner would also slow down my team. Aerodactyl is there to prevent the rocks from going up. But ill take suggestions though.

NOTE 3:My pokemon share a couple of weaknneses. Ice being able to hit the most(three). If you can help me find a substitute for any weakness would be really helpful. Also Stealth rock is only resisted by swanpert…So my pokes will be suffering a lot too. Thanks for ur help.

If I'm not mistaken, you should be running timid on your Latias, or + Spe. DD Salamences will still outrun you after one DD. You can do the ev spread one of two ways.

The standard 252/ 252/ 4 to speed tie with other scarf latias which isn't a bad idea or you can run 78 HP/ 178 Spe./ 252 Sp. Atk. This spread runs just enough speed to outrun +spe nature Salamence after one DD and puts the rest into HP for just a small bit of extra health. It all depends on what you have to outrun with latias.

On a team based around Uturn, Gliscor makes an amazing alternative to Aerodactyl. Better typing, Taunt, Uturn, and decent speed make it an interesting alternative. Besides which I enjoy using Uturn against faster taunt leads into a counter. It breaks the sash, makes the taunt not matter, and kills the lead. Gliscor and Scizor do this wonderfully. Totally stops rocks. Azelf could work too. He gets Taunt Uturn and higher speed than Gliscor. I just prefer the Bulkiness of Gliscor.

I always asume salamences arent running a + speed nature, so latias should be able to ouspeed it.Though it is an option, i like the other ev spread, ill consider the more HP one.

The Gliscor idea is good. Actually pretty good. Opposing lead azelf's will always use Taunt, U-Turn it(super effective) and change to scizor.Plus Gliscor is pretty fast too.So he can not only taunt slower leads, but be useful later in the fight against stall teams. This will add me a taunter.

for this ill need to teach swanpert stealth rock, just in case Gliscor can Set them. Thanks.

Hello there. You've got a decent strategy here revolving around Infernape, and I can see you thought the plan out very well. However, there are some things that I want to suggest to you that will hopefully benefit your team while still keeping the identity you implanted the same.

First of all, I fail to see why you have Aerodactyl leading your team. Aerodactyl should only be used if your team is extremely offensive in nature or if you have an abnormal amount of Stealth Rock weaknesses, both of which you don't. So in taking a look at a good candidate for your lead position, I'd actually recommend one of your already present Pokemon, Swampert. Currently, Swampert is merely taking the majority of your Fire-type attacks, and is really the bulk of your team. However, if we can utilize it as a Stealth Rock lead, we can then hopefully fill in a whole that was once there because essentially, Aerodactyl wasn't really doing anything besides putting up Stealth Rock. However, making Swampert as your lead would obviously make it less durable for the latter parts of your match when you may need that Fire resistance, so it's up to you whether you want to implement this change. If changing Swampert to your lead is not an appealing endeavor to you, there is always the ever so common Metagross, Heatran, and Jirachi leads. Jirachi would be an interesting choice because you could ultimately fit your "theme" in the team additionally with your lead spot. It could also provide you with a revenge killer, as I'm going to be suggesting that you take the Choice Scarf off of Latias.

I don't really like the Swampert set at the moment, so I'm going to suggest switching it to a Stealth Rock mix variant. This change would take into consideration that you wouldn't want Swampert leading, as I still believe that Stealth Rock should be on your team. Either way, you'd still be able to deal with a large majority of Fire-type moves that may come your way with use of Surf/Hydro Pump and Ice Beam (for Dragons). On the flip side, however, you wouldn't have a way to scout an opposing Heatran for Explosion, but you also have a reliable backup in Latias to take the Fire attacks.

As I only see you getting setup upon with your Latias set, I'd advise switching it to a more defensive Calm Mind variant. This would ultimately allow you to deal with an abundance of threats you wouldn't have been able to before. Now you may be wondering whether or not this will affect Gyarados' ability to beat you, but as mentioned before, I'll be changing your Celebi set to deal with this issue. An obvious advantage to this set is that you'll be able to have a second option for making an attempted sweep. If Infernape fails to sweep the opponent's team, you'll always have a reliable plan b. In addition to that, you won't be locked into moves you frankly don't want to be in, therefore you'll be setup on less often.

Finally, I'll be changing your Celebi set, as I really see no point in overloading at the Swampert weakness. A simple Grass Knot will do the same to a Swampert as a Choice Spec Leaf Storm. Therefore what I'm going to suggest is going to give you a safety net against Gyarados, and should allow you to switch more freely among your team. So the set that I'm going to suggest is this:

Celebi @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Ability: Natural Cure
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- Grass Knot

Thunder Wave is obviously for the ever so common Gyarados, that you also happen to have a weakness to, and Grass Knot is for your hatred to Swampert :p. Now the reason why I suggest Hidden Power Fire is because a good majority of your team is completely manhandled by Choice Band Scizor. If it gets in on your Latias, your key wall to Infernape is now gone. However, if you're able to bait the incoming Scizor, then you'll effectively be able to kill it with a timely attack and you'll no longer have to worry about the number one used Pokemon.

Enjoy the team!

all the changes you suggested karrious were good.
I used to use a lead jirachi before(choice scarf). if i add thunderpunch instead of trick, it would be a good revenge killer. its speed is high enough to out speed dd gyarados too(with choice scarf).
choice scarf jirachi will allow me to always set up stealth rock.
will the celebi evs be enough to take swanpert down?

Seeing as how Swampert has a 4x weakness to Grass and is quite heavy, Grass Knot most definitely will be able to OHKO Swampert.
