Deadline is Sunday, December 13th at 11:59 P.M.

SPECIFIC RULES (ripped off from Arcticblast)
  • This is a standard ORAS Ubers tournament
  • This tournament will be Double Elimination
  • All rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!
  • To encourage the development of the metagame, and so that everyone is on an even playing field, all matches must have replays recorded. If neither player posts or at least saves replays of the match, both players will suffer an automatic game loss. (If you were in losers' when you played, you are both out. If you were in winners', the winner is in losers' and the loser is out.) There may be some exceptions to this rule.
  • Every round, I will choose several games as the Highlight Matches. We don't have streaming yet, but this is something I am going to look into for future rounds when things get competitive.
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same PokeDex number on his team.
  • Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are banned. (No other evasion boosting things are banned).
  • OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
  • Moody Clause
  • Sleep Clause

General Tournament Rules

Identity

I expect many battles to be completed under alts. This can be bad for tournament security, and thus I will make this clear: If I hear any whispers of identity theft (battling as someone you are not) or proxy battling (helping someone else battle through pm) I will not be pleased and I will take severe actions.

Scouting

Next, I do not want to hear anything about counterteaming, at all. Do not complain about it. I also don't want to hear about any blatant scouting. There is a difference between "[user] is known for using stall" and "let me follow [user] around all day to watch all his battles since I am his opponent". I expect a lot of the former and none of the latter. I give permission to all battlers to ask any person spectating their battle to leave if they do not want them watching. Everyone will have access to your replays from earlier rounds though.

Timer Clause

As for taking long between moves, if your opponent asks you to hurry up, please oblige. If you are doing a damage calc for a key turn that is one thing, but prolonging every move is suspicious and annoying. Don't do it. Furthermore, Battle Timeout is a rule for a reason. If you run out of time, you lose, simple as that. It does not matter what your opponent says. Do not battle if you think you will have to leave mid battle, and instead reschedule for a better time.

Disconnections

Finally, in the case of a disconnect, the decision is in the hands of the player who did not disconnect. The options are: redo the battle move for move, redo the battle with the same teams but different moves, or redo the battle with completely different teams. If the battle was without a doubt over, they may also take the win. Any suspicion that a disconnect was committed on purpose to redo a match may be appealed to me, and if I feel this happened there will be severe consequences, don't do it.

Scheduling Rules:

USE VM WALLS! If you really don't want to schedule via a VM conversation, then post in this thread to let me know that you are in contact with your opponent some other way. If you use VM walls, you do not need to post in this thread to let me know. Unless you have clearly scheduled for a date shortly after the deadline (and cannot make a date before the deadline) you will be given an activity call instead of an extension. I'm not making the calls, so I can't promise what will or won't make you safe, but I know that activities which will up your chances are posting specific times on your opponent's wall, responding to their VMs promptly, and posting any IRC logs of you scheduling in this thread.

The deadline is listed below the tournament logo in this post. This is a hard deadline.

Kingler12345 vs ShadowQuinn: squinn is good; never played kingler.
Hack vs Pohjis: pohjis is pretty good, and an upset is definitely possible, but hack has the edge with a wealth of building and playing experience, whereas pohjis is newer to the scene.
Mr.378 vs Carloos: no clue who carloos is...

EDIT: scheduled with Outrage. Playing Saturday 10AM GMT+11 / Friday 11PM GMT, 6PM EST

Kingler12345 vs ShadowQuinn - i don't know who shadowquinn is other than some ladder hero who uses PS too much, but he's performed consistently in the few tours he's entered o_O kingler should take it tho.

Loser's Bracket

Hack

Yeah, I slept in. Sorry mate, i stayed up late last night trying to wait for Starmei. Hopefully I'll still see you around and we can play. Pretty much the only matchup i've had that i've actually looked forward to.

Played a really good series versus Hack, he ended up winning me in three games. I should have won game two and the whole series but the choke was super real. Third game was fully in Hack's control. Good luck in rest and thank you again for the excellent series.

I am sad to lose right here and especially since I had a really good chance to win the whole series. Winning is always fun but losing teaches you and pushes you to improve to get even better. For the first time after round two, when I won Level 56, I can say that I played really well. Game one was probably the best game I have ever played. But for now I need to take a small break because of my military service in the Finnish Army which starts 4th of January. I still hope to participate in the future ubers tournaments, I won't leave this great community.

Huge shout-out to Gunner Rohan, Mysterious M, benbe, Magermilchpuur, Dilwar, ShadowQuinn, Serga, Daenys, Carloos, Shiny Girl and others who have supported me. You guys are so great and I am glad that I got to know you.

Lycka till for every competitor who is still in, may the best player win.

Sorry for the long post.

So right now my opponent waited until a few hours ago today to answer my contact. This is after most of my good available times. I'll see what I can do tomorrow but if nothing can be done I'm calling activity because I could have played for most of this time and he missed almost all of it.

Every seasonal teaches something new. Last seasonal I was winning 2-0 versus Level 56 in losers finals, but since he missed Dark Void I let him hit it and I end up losing the series 2-1 and went out. This thought me to never give another chance to the opponent.
This seasonal my opponent missed the scheduled time while I waited till 2 a.m for him to show. Instead of vanishing till the deadline I made myself available as much as I could to adapt to his timezone and play. And when we played he got all the luck he needed game 1 in terms of switches and a crit and game 2 he won the 50-50 speed tie that would have otherwise made him lose the game.

This game teaches you to never be good that's it.

Yeah that's how to act when I tried all my best to be online to play you at 1 am after you missed a scheduled time. Wouldn't expect more from low life internet people. I'm so ashamed I lost 2-0 to a bad player like you.

Okay, hold up one sec. I think you need a slap in the face by reality.

"And when we played he got all the luck he needed game 1 in terms of switches and a crit and game 2 he won the 50-50 speed tie that would have otherwise made him lose the game."

#1. Luck in terms of switches? How do I get lucky with that when it's you choosing your moves with "supposed thought"; or are you perhaps insinuating you play by rolling a dice and letting that decide your play?

#2. I don't really see your point in bringing this up and further implicating it as if you had outplayed me in that game and then i miraculously got a speed tie that saved my otherwise dead ass, when in reality... It was you who lost the speed tie that would have miraculously saved your ass from a sure-fire win for me.

Like sure, bitch about the crit or whatever, but really? Do you like not having any ground to stand on?

Also, you best check yourself and stop trying to act like you have the moral high ground here buddy.

★Lord Outrage: yeah fuck you

Like honestly man, of course i expect you to be salty as fuck behind my back, because quite frankly, that's the kind of person you've shown yourself to be consistently.

I suppose i should talk about my epiphanies thanks to playing in tournaments like these too, then? Just because you know, it's definitely relevant and useful. This seasonal along with every other tournament has taught me this game is infested with egotistical shitheads who can't even the see the light of day because their heads are rammed so far up their asses.

no need to thank me bro. You are a bad builder and a bad player. You either win because of your unexplained choices in battle like you did versus kebabe in upl or get hammered otherwise. Losing to you is obviously not gonna affect me at all since you are the kind of person to either lose miserably or win because of playing bad and opponent thinking you're better. Good job with that though it got you to finals!

I get extremely mad as well, but the way to vent about hax isn't by telling your opponent how much they suck; it's by letting your opponent know that you're better than them and deserved to win the game. That way, you still delegitimize their victory without coming across as a complete cunt.

Any future salty posts will be infracted if they involve personal attacks.
