ORAS Ubers Ubers For The First Time

Alright, this is the first ubers team that I have ever actually done. I have two of them now, but this is the first. As it is for the rest of my teams, this team has had very mixed results. Let's get started.

Wobbuffet @ Custap Berry
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 80 HP / 176 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Encore
- Counter
- Mirror Coat

Okay, let's start with the passive yet destructive member on my team. Wobbuffet works as a self destruct button, targeting specific threats I want removed (and usually taking another mon down with it.) Counter and Mirror Coat let it operate with it's amazing bulk to take down it's primary marks. Destiny Bond goes with the Custap Berry, which means that if you don't take it down in a couple of hits, something is going down with it. Encore has two uses for Wobbuffet. The first is to trap an opponent into a attacking move, which can be followed by either Counter/Mirror Coat or Destiny Bond. The second use is to trap the enemy into a status move, which allows a switch into Groudon (T-wave/Will-O-Wisp) or Lucario (Toxic) for a free set up turn. The EVs are made to specifically boost it's bulk, because there is literally no reason to boost any of it's other stats.

Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Atk / 48 SpD / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Swords Dance
- Precipice Blades
- Rock Slide

Here is Groudon, the opposite of Kyogre. Groudon is here to spread paralysis and try to set up/sweep with Swords Dance, as well as going against Primal Kyogre (if Kyogre was sent out first). Thunder Wave cripples enemies, and grants Groudon the chance to bring the Swords Dance up. Swords Dance is to boost it's attack to ludicrous proportions. Precipice Blades hurts anything that's on the ground for massive of damage. Rock Slide (Here for better accuracy than Stone Edge) can be used for bringing down anything in the sky, or to attempt paraflinching (if the situation is dire.) The investments in HP and SpD are here to prolong his life (however short it is), the Spe makes it a little faster and has been surprisingly useful, and the Atk boosts it's high attack even higher.

Lucario-Mega @ Lucarionite
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Vacuum Wave
- Flash Cannon
- Psychic

We have our mega up next: Lucario. Lucario is here to serve as a special sweeper, and can be devastating with Adaptability. Nasty Plot is used for boosting it's special attack to fear inducing levels (especially when paired with Adaptability.) Vacuum Wave gives priority and STAB, Flash Cannon works well as a move that provides nice power, STAB and Adaptability boost, and a chance to lower special defense. Psychic is here to attack anything that won't be taken out by Vacuum Wave and resists Flash Cannon. Max EVs in SpA and Spe let it do it's job fairly well.

Blaziken @ Focus Sash
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Reversal
- Blaze Kick
- Shadow Claw

In retrospect, I should have started with this. Oh well, we're here already. This is Blaziken, my lead and suicider. Swords Dance goes with Speed Boost and Focus Sash, granting it a guaranteed boost in attack and speed. Reversal is used immediately after, doing massive amounts of damage and bringing fear to enemies. In the event that Blaziken is not brought down to the sash activation, Blaze Kick is here to provide STAB, High chance for crits, and a small chance to burn. Shadow Claw is here for any psychic or ghosts that try jumping in. Like Lucario, Blaziken has EVs in the stats that let it sweep most efficiently.

Yveltal @ Black Glasses
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 132 HP / 28 Atk / 252 SpA / 96 Spe
Rash Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Oblivion Wing
- Sucker Punch
- Heat Wave

Yveltal, oh how I love you. Kind of. Yveltal provides an offensive mon that uses two immunities to it's advantage. Dark Pulse uses STAB, Black Glasses, Dark Aura, and a chance of flinch for it's primary attacking move. Sucker Punch is used for taking down faster pokemon, and Oblivion Wing gives it recovery. Heat Wave attacks steel types and has a chance of burn. It's EVs in HP and Spe are here to help it survive hits and outspeed opponents. Max investment in SpA boost almost all of it's moves, and the Atk is for Sucker Punch.

Rayquaza @ Life Orb
Ability: Air Lock
EVs: 252 Atk / 40 SpA / 216 Spe
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Ascent
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed

Finally, we have Rayquaza. Rayquaza works clean-up duty, and finishes up after the others have done their work. Draco Meteor strikes down physical walls, and Dragon Ascent works to bring the force of Rayquaza down on it's enemies. Earthquake provides coverage, and Extreme Speed takes down the weakened, and those that outspeed. EV investments in Spe are for making him faster, and Atk investments let him use his physical attacks to their best potential. SpA is here for Draco Meteor.

Well, that's it. My first Ubers team. I am always welcome to any thoughts and changes you have on this team, and I look forward to trying to improve it. Thank you for your time.

I spent quite a bit of time working this team since Wobbuffet can be a bit challenging to work with. The team as is lacks sufficient checks for a lot of offensive Pokemon, so some restructure was in order. I started with P Don / Blaziken / Wobbuffet as to keep the main identity of the team but still leave plenty of room to cover offensive threats. Blaziken's moveset was changed to Protect / Baton Pass / Low Kick / Flare Blitz with a Life Orb, where Baton Pass is especially useful for pivoting out and passing some Speed boosts. Since your team lacks an Arceus forme, Swords Dance Arceus Ghost was a good fit with Wobb and provided an EKiller check in addition to a check for offensive Psychics (taking the place of Yveltal in this regard). Although Blaziken does well against opposing offense the team needed more security against Darkrai, in addition to a Fairy-type and Stealth Rock setter (the original team doesn't have one). Stealth Rock Mega Diancie provided these attributes, and a moveset with Toxic would also be able to punish some common Mega Dianice switch-ins. The EV spread is for Darkrai and to provide a bit more longevity. Latios was needed in the final slot in order to provide a Ground immunity and a check to Primals. Unfortunately, Geomancy Xerneas sets up easily on -2 Latios and the team doesn't have a ton of counterplay for it outside of P Don, Arc Ghost Extreme Speed, and fishing for double Protect on Blaziken, so running Roar was a necessary evil.

In terms of overall structure the final team isn't much different from the original. Arceus-Ghost replaced Yveltal, Latios replaced Rayquaza, and Mega Diancie replaced Mega Lucario. The motivations for these changes other than what was already explained mainly had to do with adding some defensive synergy to the team. After some team testing I feel that the final build is significantly more solid than the original, although building with Wobbuffet and Blaziken led to some challenges in regards to trying to cover everything well. I suppose you could keep Rayquaza over Latios as to gain another priority user and have something Xern can't setup on as easily, although you become more shaky against Primals.
