Umm question about the Wi-Fi

OK well i know all bout the friend codes and stuff and how to add them and I do have working Wi-fi...but one question about actually connecting with people....


I haven't done the actual battling/trading thing yet but how does it work??

If i hav someone's FC will they show up as connected if they are? or do each of us have to hav each other's codes on?

Yes, you both have to have each other's friend codes. You really can't do anything on Wifi without the other person's friend code.

You can see if they're online when you talk to the wifi lady underneath any pokecenter (you have to connect to wifi, of course). The battling and trading are self-explanitory:/ You just select "trade" and trade, etc. Read an instruction manual if you really want some details.
