Hi Smogon,
I've entered myself in a UU tournament that's starting out next week. I already have one UU team that is based around Leafeon and that one works just fine, in fact in only has been beaten twice, and that was because I just played bad that two times.
Now, because relying on one team in a tournament in wich I will always face one (or more) opponents twice, doesn't seem a good idea to me. And since the lack of testing time I'd like some help by you guys.
I have the habid to build my teams around Eeveelutions and that works just fine for me. In fact this is the fifth Eeveelution based team I've build so far.
My playstyle as I have noticed playing the past few months of Pokémon is built around Pokémon that can take hits to scout of how my opponent playes (prodicting, overprodicting) and adjust my style to that (in terms of predicting and overpredicting). Witch means I like bulky Pokémon, Pokémon that fit in well together typewise, as wel some stall / set up pokémon, and some revengekillers with priority / scarf.
Allright, lets take a look at my team:
Lol, my team looks kinda gay with all the blue and the pink, anywayz...
So I start out with Umbreon, since he's a great support for my team, and since I'm building a team around Eeveelutions.
Nidoqueen just works awesome with Umbreon, concidering the fact that Nidoqueen eats Fighting and Bug attacks for breakfast. And Umbreon doesn't even know when a Psychic attack is used. So they both Tank and Wall out a lot of Pokémon
A team needs sweepers. And Feraligatr works fine. He can come in on the Water and Ice attacks aimed at Nidoqueen, and Dragon Dance on the switch out, witch ofcourse is awesome. And if threatened by Electric attacks Nidoqueen can come back in.
Like every team this team needs a lead. And Froslass lead just seems awesome. Ambipon is useless against it, and Uxie can't do much either. Spike support fits well for this team as Nidoqueen can set up Stealth Rock.
Toxicroak is just a great addition to this team. It coveres the Water attacks aimed for Nidoqueen as wel the Grass attacks aimed for Feraligatr. Sub on the switch and then just try to take this thing down.
Although Umbreon is immune to Psychic attacks I still have quite a big weak, concidering Toxicroak is 4x weak and Nidoqueen is 2x weak. I figure out Mesprit will do here. He can take hits concidering his solid defenses, ass wel that he can trow some hits at threats for my team. I just might run a Specs set, who would expect that lol.
Allright, an in depth view then:
@ Focus Sash
Timid with 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe EV's
~ Spikes
~ Taunt
~ Destiny Bond
~ Ice Beam
Well yea, this is the standard Suicide Froslass lead, and it works. This set guarantees 2 layers of spikes, with a opponent that sets up even 3. When I'm still alive I can always take down an opponent with me using Desteny Bond.
@ Leftovers
Careful with 252 HP / 92 SpD / 164Def EV's
~ Mean Look
~ Toxic
~ Moonlight
~ Payback
I adjusted the standard set a little bit cuz I just don't know how to play Batom Pass correctly. Toxic on the switch in, Mean Look to prevent him from switching out, and then stall him out with Moonlight. Payback is to do some extra damage if I notice the opponents attack isn't gonna be a 2HKO. Basicly, this set comes in an the Psychic attacks that are aimed for Nidoqueen and Toxicroak, and the Ghost or Dark attacks aimed for Mesprit. If the switch in is a Fighting type or a Bug type, I'll always have to switch out, in that case I have Mesprit or Nidoqueen to go for (as even Toxicroak is an option here). If the switch in is neither of those, I'm pretty sure Umbreon can even take a Bug or Fighting attack (exept for the occasional Rhyperior and other massive Attack / Special Attack Pokémon), so then it's basicly seeing how much damage the opponent does to Umbreon and then I have to deside to stay in or not.
@ Black Sludge
Relaxed with 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 Spe EV's
Poison Point (ability)
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge
~ Crunch
~ Stealth Rock
I prefer Black Sludge over leftovers just to screw over trickscarfers (although Mesprit can switch in as wel), basicly there is just no reason to pick Leftovers over Black Sludge. This set can take hits from everything Umbreon is scared of. Earthquake as a great stab move, Stone Edge to hit Flying types super effective, and Cruch to cripple incoming Psychics. Stealth Rock is a great support move, witch is great in addition with the Spikes that Froslass has layed down already. This is entirely optional and I can basicly use this move when there is the time to set up or not.
@ Life Orb
Adamant with 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe EV's
~ Dragon Dance
~ Waterfall
~ Ice Punch
~ Earthquake
Dragon Dance on the switch out witch alow me to outspeed a decent amount of Pokémon. Waterfall as stab move (witch is only resisted by other Water, Dragon and Grass Pokémon), Ice Punch cripples incoming Grass Pokémon (and the Dragons who resist Water, witch makes it unlikely that a Dragon will switch in to Feraligatr), just like Earthquake cripples Electrics. Can come in on Water attacks trown at Nidoqueen, especially coming from a Choiced Pokémon. Feraligatr is the first of the two "main sweepers" in this team.
@ Leftovers
Adamant with 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe EV's
Dry Skin (ability)
~ Substitute
~ Focus Punch
~ Sucker Punch
~ Ice Punch
Kinda works the same as Feraligatr exept Subsitute in stead of DD. Toxicroak is one of those Pokémon you'd like to get rid of as soon as possible, witch comes to this: the opponent will most likely switch into a Psychic or another Pokémon that can throw some Psychic attacks at Toxicroak. Sucker Punch cripples Phychics before they can even think how the are gonna hurt Toxicroak. Especcialy behind a Sub, witch begs for damage moves. Focus Pucus as a stab move and Ice Punch (over Stone Edge)for the Accuracy, and it will still hurt Flyings. Can, just like Feraligatr, come in on Water attacks, as wel in one the the 6 other types it resists (Grass for Feraligatr, Fighting for Umbreon, bug for Umbreon and Mesprit, Dark for Mesprit,...).
@ Choice Scarf
Modest with 16 HP / 252 SpA / 240 Spe EV's
~ Psychic
~ Thunderbolt
~ Shadow Ball
~ Hidden Power Fighting
Revenge killer and also Special attacker, and combined with tanking abilitys. Can come in on EQ aimed for Toxicroak. If the opponent lacks of Priority, witch I'll probably know by then, witch makes this Mesprit an exelent Revenge Killer, the EV's and the Scarf makes it outspeed everything that isn't scarfed or hasn't got a speed boost (DD for example). I use The moveset is kinda obvious, as for a Choiced Pokémon set-up moves are useless. Psychic is Mesprit main attacking move, since it has stab bonus. Thunderbolt is to his Water types, as well as almost anything for neutral damage. Shadow Ball grants me a super effective move against other Psychics, and Hidden Power Fighting I use when I expect a Dark to come in.
Well, that's it. RMT
