Under my Umbrella

I fancied a change and decided to ride the weather wave, on the rain side. This team is pretty fresh and I've not used to a huge amount, but it seems to work pretty well.

Okay so here goes:

186.gif

Politoed @ Leftovers
Drizzle
252 HP/252 Def/ Bold Nature

-Scald
-Perish song
-Toxic
-Protect

This guy is here for Drizzle. He's the typical defensive set, and is useful for statusing pokes. I'm not overly sure on Perish Song, but I'm not sure of other good options. He's mainly for Drizzle though, I don't really like him outside of that.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Iron Barbs
252 HP/88 Def/ 168 SDef/ Relaxed Nature

-Stealth Rock
-Spikes
-Gyro Ball
-Power Whip

This guy is my defensive core, my policy against other water types in the rain and faster threats who dislike gyro ball. He's my hazard setter too, and though i don't value spikes highly in this Metagame full of flying beats and things with levitate, they seem sort of compulsory on something as bulky and hard to break down as this.

Azurmarill @ Choice Band
Huge power
252 Att/212 HP/44 Spd/ Adamant Nature

-Aqua jet
-Waterfall
-Superpower
-Ice Punch

I can't stress how much this entire team was built because of this guy. Underestimate him at your own peril, his power is divine and omnipotent. Huge Power, Double STAB (Rain) and Choice Band boosted Aqua Jet is awesome, & Waterfall is an even better option on a fresh Azurmarill. Superpower is kind of bad, but it gives a way of smashing Tyranitar and pokes who resist water. Ice punch hits those flying beasts hard too.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Natural cure
252 SAtk/252 Spd/ Timid Nature

-Hydro Pump
-Thunder
-Ice Beam
-Rapid Spin

This guy is mainly a spinner, as my Flying demons of the sky hate rocks stripping their health as I switch out with them regularly. A typical spinner set, as I use him as a revenge killer too, Hydro pump & Thunder are great in the rain. Thats about all on Starmie, he's so common in this form he needs little explaining.

642-therian.gif

Thundurus-T @ Choice Scarf
Volt Absorb
252 SAtk/252 Spd/ Modest Nature

-Volt Switch
-Thunder
-HP Ice
-Grass Knot

This set is truly amazing. With no rocks about, this thing scores so many kills its unfair. It can destroy it's other therian brothers with HP Ice, or Thunder in Tornadus' case. It can hit so many pokes for huge damage, and acts as an excellent revenge killer. Has great unity with Ferrothorn, and can switch in on common electrics targeted at my water team mates.

641.gif

Tornadus @ Life Orb
252 SAtk/252 Spd/ Hasty Nature
Prankster

-Hurricane
-Hammer Arm
-Taunt
-U-turn

Again, another set I'm not 100% on. He's a great poke, but I'm not sure on U-turn. Hasty to allow Hammer arm an OKHO on Ttar. This set deals huge damage, and +1 Taunt acts as an insurance policy against certain threats. This poke trolls Breloom all day long providing I don't switch in on a spore, I can use Starmie to absorb the Spore and switch into this guy who will rip Breloom to pieces.

OVERALL-

While this team is good, I hate Ferrothorn. Virtually nothing is effective against it. Hurricane is more effective then Hammer Arm coming from Tornadus. Azurmaril can hit large with Superpower, but fears Power Whip and he Att drop isn't great and with leftover recovery can often see him fall short.

I really need spin support, so switching Starmie for Magnezone is a bit iffy. I am trialing to lead with Tournadus to Taunt & attack, then remove Starmie from the side for Lucario, but I'm not hugely sure yet. Breeloom, Lucario, Toxicroak, Keldo & Volcarno all tempt me with this side, as I desperately need a way to deal with Ferrathorn.

Hi!

Nice team, Jamiroquai! I find that your team has trouble handling an opposing Tornadus-T, as nothing can safely switch into a Life Orb Hurricane from that winged beast. Tornadus and Starmie are outsped and KO'd by Hurricane, while Ferrothorn, Azumarill and Politoed are both 2HKO'd by that same move. In order to help alleviate this vulnerability to Tornadus-T, I would recommend you replace Ferrothorn by a SubCM Jirachi. This change also makes your team less weak to Terrakion. SubCM Jirachi can easily tank a Hurricane, and can then set up multiple Calm Minds to start a sweep. Thanks to its neat defensive typing, it can easily set up a Substitute on opponents who can't touch it (i.e. Ferrothorn). In addition, it wields 101 HP Substitutes, which prevents moves like Night Shade and Seismic Toss from breaking the Sub, allowing you to beat Blissey with much more ease. Thunder gets perfect accuracy in Rain, providing great coverage for your team, beating Jellicent, and it also provides a 60% chance of paralysis due to Serene Grace, which is extremely useful. Flash Cannon lets you get past Tyranitar, who is always 2HKO'd by this move. Leftovers After a few boosts, it hits really hard. Click the spoiler box to view the set!

Since you say Tornadus is a guy you'd like to replace, I would remove it in favor of a Focus Sash Mamoswine. Since Jirachi's addition makes your team lose Stealth Rock, Mamoswine can provide it. It's really a great tool for offensive-minded teams, weakening the opposition for your sweepers to clean-up late-game. It also helps you deal with the aforementioned threat, Tornadus-T, as it can utilize Ice Shard to revenge-kill it. It also lets you revenge-kill threats such as Thundurus-T, Landorus-T and Gliscor, in addition to the plethora of Dragons who roam in this new metagame, namely Salamence and Dragonite. Earthquake is a reliable and powerful STAB, helping you deal with opposing Jirachi and Terrakion, in addition to dealing a lot of damage to opponents who don't resist it. Endeavor is really useful, as when the Focus Sash is activated, you are left with only 1 HP. Endeavor reduces your opponent's HP to Mamoswine's current HP, which is 1 HP, which is an incredible amount of damage. Afterwards, you can use Ice Shard to take out your target. Thick Fat is an ability that reduces Ice and Fire-type attacks by 50%, allowing you to tank those kind of attacks with much more ease. Thanks to Rain, Fire moves are already weakened, which means Mamoswine won't even have to worry about those at all. Cool team, and good luck!

Hey. This team seems pretty good as it is. However, your main threat, as you noted before, is Ferrothorn. To deal with it, I'd recommend replacing Tornadus (which seems to be the least-needed member of the team) with a Magnezone. While you lose a Ground immunity, you get a great switch-in to Ferrothorn, opposing Scarf Thundurus-T, and Specs Tornadus-T, which is another threat to watch out for. Since losing Tornadus means that you lose a Breloom check, I'd also recommend the use of Mamoswine over (preferably) Ferrothorn or (if you don't want to lose Ferrothorn) Azumarill. It checks Breloom with surprising ease and it also alleviates a problem with boosted dragons, such as Scarf Moxiemence and DD Dragonite. Its typing also gives you another option for beating Agility Thundurus-T and Jolteon. It's a small nitpick, but I personally prefer using a Scarfed Politoed on offensive rain teams, due to the fact that it can be used to revenge kill several notable threats, such as Tornadus-T, Chlorophyll sweepers, and Stoutland.

Sets:
462.png

Magnezone @ Leftovers | Magnet Pull
Timid Nature | 36 HP / 252 SpAtk / 220 Spe | 2 Atk / 30 Def
Substitute | Thunderbolt | Hidden Power [Ice] | Charge Beam / Flash Cannon

Mamoswine (M) @ Life Orb / Focus Sash | Thick Fat
Jolly Nature | 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Ice Shard | Stealth Rock / Icicle Crash | Earthquake | Superpower

186.png

Politoed (F) @ Choice Scarf | Drizzle
Timid Nature | 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe | 0 Atk
Hydro Pump | Surf | Ice Beam | Focus Blast / Hidden Power [Grass]

nota bene: use an IV spread of 2 Atk / 30 SpAtk if Hidden Power Grass is used.

Defensive set --> Choice Scarf set

Nice team, and good luck!

Cheers guys!

Ill give suggestions a go for sure. Scarf Politoed Ive already tried, and I prefered the bulky set even with my offensive style, but ill give it a re run with the other changes.

SubCM Jirachi sounds like a great idea, because with rain up, after a few boosts, only EQ can really threat it, that and non special water moves like Waterfall. Ill also use Magnezone in his place for a trial, because I know how easy it is to set up with Charge beam on Ferro.

Mamo sounds nice, I was toying with the idea of him originally, but Ferro took presodence.
Ill have a rework and see what I come out with. While I said im not sure on Tornadus, it was more on the set then the poke, Hurricane wrecks in the rain.

Okay cheers, ill try them out, and post back aout it
