My goal for this team was to make use of underused pokemon that are very much useable in higher tiers. I asked around and got a few suggestions then started messing with move sets and spreads. I am not very good with EV spreads so if something is more optimal do not hesitate to tell me. This team is meant to be fun and mixing up the meta but still, do decent. This is by no means a top tier team, but I don't want to get shut down by common threats.

Building Process
So I got a lot of different pokemon suggestions to be underused or underrated. Among those were a Mega Ampharos and a Trick Room Stakataka. I am not actually very fond of trick room teams but I thought it can't hurt to try.
Edit: With the new members and changes I now have three trick room users and a Dragon Fairy Steel core also.
Edit 2: I now have 2 All-Out-Attackers (one special one physical) 2 Offensive Trick Rooms (One Special one physical) and 2 bulky trick room setters. I think this is actually a decent team now

ampharos-mega.gif

Ampharos-Mega @ Ampharosite
Ability: Static
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 1 Atk / 2 Spe
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt

When I make teams I always forget to add special attackers. This time however the team was being built around a special attacker. Mega Ampharos is quite powerful but to slow to show it off. I looked through some move sets and decided that I wanted a special attacker over cleric, especially since someone told me this pokemon's power was underrated. This move set is very standard with STAB Thunderbolt and Dragon Pulse with coverage Focus Blast and Volt Switch to pivot. I was excited to see if this pokemon could actually prove itself.

stakataka.gif

Stakataka @ Rockium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Lonely Nature
IVs: 15 Def / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Gyro Ball
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

I had seen Stakataka many times as a trick room setter but usually, the set was a stall or wall set. I never really enjoyed stalling in pokemon so I wanted to try something new. I then found an Offensive Trick Room set for Stakataka and knew this was the set I wanted. This would make Stakataka enjoyable to play and bring the element of surprise when your opponent thinks they just entered a stall game. This was my first time messing with Beast Boost IVs so don't hesitate to tell me if I messed up.

lickilicky.gif

Lickilicky @ Life Orb
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Thrash
- Knock Off
- Zen Headbutt
- Hammer Arm

I know this pokemon doesn't really complement the team with it being just another snorlax, but I thought I would try it out. The original idea is an Own Tempo Thrash set up. I originally had metronome until I found out that doesn't work with Thrash the way I thought it did. I just changed it to Silk Scarf because the whole point of the set is Thrash, but if you have any suggestions I will gladly change items.

porygon2.gif

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Recover
- Trick Room
- Magic Coat
- Teleport

Porygon2, overused, yes, necessary, yes. This pokemon may not be fun but that is why I tried to make him as a utility as possible so you get to use the fun pokemon to fight. Simple trick room + teleport and you'll be fine to have Ampharos or Lickilicky come in.

slowbro.gif

Slowbro @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick Room
- Teleport
- Slack Off
- Scald

Mostly the same as Porgon2. This pokemon may not be fun but that is why I tried to make him as a utility as possible so you get to use the fun pokemon to fight. Simple trick room + teleport and you'll be fine to have Ampharos or Lickilicky come in.

magearna-original.gif

Magearna @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Fleur Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
Magearna-Original @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Fleur Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Basically I ran out of "fun" mons and was told that Sylveon wasn't working so I implemented another OTR. Magearna is definitely overused but that's why I decided to go for cosmetics over quality with original Magearna. I left both sets so you can choose but note that this team's fun aspect is meant to focus on Ampharos, Stakataka, and Lickilicky.

gourgeist-super.gif

Gourgeist-Super @ Leftovers
Ability: Frisk
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 172 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Phantom Force
- Will-O-Wisp
- Leech Seed

When I made some changes to the team it opened up some new possibilities for Gourgeist. I felt that Foul Play just wasn't doing well enough so I decided to go with Phantom Force instead to stall. I also messed with the EVs a little because of the new members on the team I actually have supporting pokemon and some walls. I think this Gourgeist is just overall better.

oranguru.gif

Oranguru @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Future Sight
- Toxic
- Protect
- Trick Room

Originally I was going to pick Meloette and go for a Mixed Attacker using Relic Song but I soon realized that Meloette was to fast. I then choose Oranguru because he fit the typing perfectly and had good offensive potential but then realized what I needed was more defense, not offense. This is a Special Wall set with Trick Room over Focus Blast. It is a stally set but allows for another trick room user and a special wall.

sylveon.gif

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

For my last pick, I realized I wanted a fairy type so I could have a Dragon Fairy Steel core. I choose Sylveon originally for Echoed Voice Metronome but decided not to. All eeveelutions have the cleric option and I decided that having a healer on the team would help a lot. This would also provide another tanky option for switch-ins.

View attachment 271133
Snorlax @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Brick Break
- Earthquake
- Darkest Lariat
- Body Slam

I was looking through my suggestions and saw snorlax and though he is pretty slow, but way overused. I then came up with the idea of an all-out-attacker snorlax. I then thought of a pulverizing pancake set and made the moves Brick Break Earthquake Darkest Lariat and Giga Impact. I then came back later having another z-move user and changed Giga Impact into Body Slam. I then looked at my team and realized I needed a special wall. With thick fat assault vest, this snorlax can take some special hits. So this is an all-out-attacker bulky snorlax.

probopass.gif

Probopass @ Air Balloon
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 1 Atk / 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Earth Power

I found Probopass in the suggestions and was interested to see what this thing got. I saw it got Stealth Rocks and had a decent Special Attack so I made my Offensive Rocks Probopass. I feel the coverage on this team was getting weak about now because of all the repeated move types but I knew that this team was definitely going to change so just stuck with him for now. This set was meant to capitalize on Probopass's Special Attack while making him somewhat of a utility pokemon.

gourgeist.gif

Gourgeist-Super @ Leftovers
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Synthesis
- Will-O-Wisp
- Foul Play

I was one pokemon away from finishing the team and realizing for a trick room team I don't have many pokemon with Trick Room. I also was starting to see a missing Special Wall and a missing Utility pokemon. I was going through the list of pokemon that learned Trick Room and found Gourgeist and thought who actually uses Gourgeist with Trick-O-Treat? This sadly did not work out. My plan was to make this a specially defensive, utility, trick-o-treat, trick room Gourgeist. Instead, I made Snorlax my special wall and had Gourgeist become a tanky trick room utility/stall pokemon. This pokemon I really am open to suggestions for because I think I could've done a lot better if the rest of the team was changed. I feel Gourgeist is a fit, but there were too many roles for it to fill alone.

So Yeah that's the team. The pokepaste will be right here: https://pokepast.es/73d3c4000b4b1f32. I am really looking forward to changes to this team. I think the biggest things I want to keep are the Stakataka and the Ampharos but the rest I feel can definitely be something else. Thank you, everyone and I hope you have a nice day!

Updated and ready for round 2. New additions are sylveon and oranguru over snorlax and probopass and major edits to gourgeist. Also changed lickilicky's gyro ball to hammer arm.

Ok hi! Trick Room is a very difficult playstyle in OU, because you only get 3 turns out of it to do damage with, or 4 if your attacker sets it. It is certainly a playstyle that lends itself to unusual mons, but the very high-risk high-reward nature of Trick Room means your defensive core is almost always just your TR setters, so you can't afford a single wasted teamslot.

Firstly, here is your bible.
https://www.smogon.com/forums/threa...-qualified-for-reqs-won-suspect-tour.3600515/
This is the original TR team of Gen 7, and basically every single TR team after that point was built in its mold. Uxie as a lead, Magearna as TR setter and sweeper in one package, insert 1-2 extra TR setters and load up on breakers. High risk high reward. So what's new for TR in Gen 8?

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Trick Room
- Magic Coat/Ice Beam
- Teleport
This mon is mandatory on any Gen 8 TR team. The combination of TR and Teleport is insane, and Porygon2 brings massive bulk and Recover access to set it repeatedly. Magic Coat bounces back Rocks and Taunts with proper prediction, Ice Beam deters Dragons (though you may be amazed by the total lack of damage it does).

Slowbro @ Mental Herb/Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick Room
- Teleport
- Slack Off
- Scald
Oh and here's another mon that does the exact same thing. Slowbro is already one of the best physical walls in the game, so it and Pory form a nice improvisational defensive core. The 8 Speed EVs may look a little odd, but it translates to being slower than other Slowbro under TR, letting you Teleport second.
So I'd advise swapping these two in for Oranguru and Gourgeist. Oranguru is just pretty clearly outclassed by these two as defensive TR setters and Gourgeist is just bad. Stalling on a TR team is never a good idea.

As for your Mega slot, Mega Amphy sounds like a great pick... Until you compare it to the physical attackers on offer. Mega Mawile and Mega Heracross both hit obscenely hard, and function better outside TR than Amphy. Amphy just struggles too much against common Ground types and is too vulnerable to revenge killing when TR ends. Try one of these sets:
Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off/Ice Punch
- Swords Dance/Thunder Punch
Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Rock Blast
- Pin Missile
If you do decide to stick with Mega Amphy, use Hidden Power Ice>Volt Switch.

As for the rest of your team, Sylveon needs to go as it doesn't fit the team at all, as a cleric is totally redundant on an offensive team. Staka is fine. Lickilicky is just garbage (it is only 100 base attack behind Mega Heracross...) and needs to be replaced with something that hits harder than a wet noodle. Try any of the following mons:
Magearna (OTR)
Rillaboom (Swords Dance Grassy Surge)
Crawdaunt (Swords Dance)
Azumarill (Belly Drum)
Melmetal (Choice Band)
Dracovish (Choice Band)
Aegislash (Air Balloon Swords Dance)
Best of luck!
