SUMMARY: This is an unorthodox HO team featuring Mega-Medicham. The trick for this team is to get some hazards up and start blowing holes in the opposing team with one of these threats. Scolipede plays a huge role in this team, as it is a hazard stacker and a Baton Pass user. This allows things such as Mega-Medicham to sweep late game.

There is a reason why Mega-Medicham is a threat in the OU metagame. Its ability Pure Power allows Mega-Medicham to reach a base Attack stat of 656! That is ridiculous considering it also gets access to a STAB base 130 power move with High Jump Kick. With the help of hazards on the field, there is no real switch-in to Mega-Medicham except Mega-Sableye and Spiritomb. If you can get Mega-Medicham behind a Substitute with a couple of Speed Boosts, your opponent is going to lose most of the time.

  • 252+ Atk Pure Power Mega Medicham High Jump Kick vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 267-315 (87.8 - 103.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
  • 252+ Atk Pure Power Mega Medicham High Jump Kick vs. 252 HP / 176+ Def Klefki: 318-375 (100 - 117.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252+ Atk Pure Power Mega Medicham Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 96+ Def Mega Venusaur: 338-398 (93.1 - 109.6%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

Scolipede is a unique Pokemon in ORAS OU. Like I said in the summary, Scolipede is used as a hazard stacker and a Baton Pass/Substitute user. Scolipede pretty much just makes life a lot easier for the other members of my team. It also quad resists Fairy which is useful, because Mega-Medicham struggles with Fairy types.

Just a standard offensive Starmie with Rapid Spin for hazard removal. Analytic helps for Pokemon that switch out against Starmie, and Life Orb is just to boost its firepower even more. Starmie is useful for taking down slower, more bulky Ground types that the rest of my team doesn't want to deal with such as Landorus-Therian.

  • 252 SpA Life Orb Starmie Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Hippowdon: 439-523 (104.5 - 124.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 SpA Life Orb Starmie Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 140 SpD Landorus-T: 398-471 (104.1 - 123.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Raikou provides my team with even more speed and much needed Flying resist. Raikou is a great Volt Switch user and gains me plenty of momentum to pressure my opponent. Raikou also deals with a number of threats to my team such as Manaphy, Starmie, and Azumarill. Raikou needs to be kept relatively healthy in order to beat teams that carry Pokemon like I just mentioned. If Starmie and Raikou both go down, I don't have a reliable Scald switch-in.

  • 252 SpA Choice Specs Raikou Volt Switch vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Starmie: 360-426 (111.1 - 131.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 SpA Choice Specs Raikou Thunderbolt vs. 100 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Tornadus-T: 296-350 (91.3 - 108%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Excadrill is one of the candidates to pass a Substitute/Speed Boost through Baton Pass with Scolipede.
This Excadrill is Adamant and has Mold Breaker to take full advantage of the pass. At x2 speed this Excadrill speed ties a Sand Rush Excadrill with a Sandstorm up. Even without a Speed Boost, this Excadrill is can still rip apart teams. But, obviously it is much more threatening with some Speed Boosts.
Mold Breaker allows me to hit Levitating Pokemon like Rotom-Wash.

  • 252+ Atk Life Orb Excadrill Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 400-476 (101.5 - 120.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252+ Atk Life Orb Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 330-390 (108.5 - 128.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252+ Atk Life Orb Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latios: 289-341 (96.6 - 114%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

Landorus-Therian is almost necessary on an ORAS OU team. This thing just counters and checks so many Pokemon in the OU metagame. This Landorus-Therian set gives me the opportunity to set up Stealth Rocks and Toxic Pokemon that can handle its offensive moves. Landorus-Therian also gives me momentum through U-turn and Earthquake is just used as a powerful STAB attack. The EV spread allows me to take some hits and also dish some hits out. The speed EVs allow me to outspeed everything in the OU metagame with a x2 Speed Boost pass from Scolipede.

The Team in Action:

THREATLIST:

Mega-Scizor can be a threats as I don't have a Fire type move on this team. Just don't let it set up and you should be fine. Excadrill can beat it One vs. One.

646-black.png
> Kyurem-Black can be an issue, revenge kill if it is Choiced and use Mega-Medicham if it is Life Orb.

I hope you guys enjoy this RMT, feel free to use the team on our own. Make sure you vote for my next RMT and I would appreciate any feedback you have for me. Thanks! :)

hi, this is a pretty nice team, you've got most of the basics for a Medicham Team, but honestly Life Orb Excadrill without Sand Rush isn't good at all, and it's obvious you don't have an Sand. You can easily run Bisharp > Excadrill while retaining a Steel-types while also having a way of being various Psychic-types through the tier, while also gaining another source of Priority. You should specifically run a Jolly Nature with 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe and a Lum Berry. A moveset of Iron Head / Swords Dance / Sucker Punch / Knock Off is what works. Lum Berry is the item of choice since it lightens your matchup against Stall.

Choice Specs Raikou straight up sucks, it's very prediction reliant and it doesn't even fit that hard even with Specs. Anyway you struggle with boosters such as Mega Gyarados especially who can just rip through you with little trouble. Faster threats as well, although Priority in Bisharp has alleviated this a bit. An easy fix would be to run NP + TWave Thundurus > Raikou. Thundurus gives you another buffer to Stall and it offers a ton of support through TWave which you're team desperately needs. Run a Timid Nature with an EV spread of 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe. Thunderbolt / Nasty Plot / HP Ice / TWave. If you'd rather not use Thundurus then Calm Mind Raikou is what you should use. Just use Leftovers > Choice Specs and Calm Mind > Shadow Ball.

Lastly you should run a spread of 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe on Landorus-T. This lets you take a hit form a +1 Bisharp and retaliate with an EQ while maintaining offensive presence. You're main goal shouldn't be to pass a Speed Boost to Landorus, but instead Medicham.

Hey man, thanks for the suggestions I'll definitely try them out and see which ones work the best. Thanks again :)

Hi there! Nice team! In my opinion, I'd give Scolipede Megahorn and Life Orb if I were you to apply offensive pressure while you're building up Speed Boost. Your opponent could set up on you under the right circumstances and sweep. Here's my suggested build:
Scolipede @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 232 HP / 100 Atk / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Poison Jab
- Megahorn
- Spikes
- Baton Pass
