Currently, the only way to play a game of ou without it affecting your elo is by challenging an irl friend (yeah right), or going up to the ou room and saying "anyone wanna fight?" which let's face it, doesn't always work out. I personally play Showdown at school after finishing my assignments and having to forfeit and lose elo because the teacher starts talking or class ends is very frustrating because elo shaming is a very real thing. People tell me "why not just make an alt?" and honestly the minute or 2 it takes to switch profiles in class can mean the difference between finishing a battle and having to forfeit. Random Battles get this treatment, and sure the majority of showdowns player base are new to competitive mons and are just trying it out by playing randos, but where do they go when they want to start a real format?
They go to Ou.
Testing teams wouldn't be near as much of a struggle, especially since you're not playing on an alt that's in low ladder, because in an unranked format you get players of all skill levels and can test your teams against a wider variety of opponents rather then only getting to test against whatever low ladder has to throw at you. And playing some casual games when you're not in the mood for a more serious match or when you're in a hurry would be great.
This may seem like a weird and unnecessary request, but chess and dragapults transparent tail got approved, so is this really to much to ask?
Thank you in advance, I can't wait to have my elo and gxe match my skill level.
