Ursaring (Analysis)

This is my first try at one of these things. Hope I am doing it right. :P

Ursaring. While the Hibernator Pokemon's stats may not look like much, they can be used to your advantage as one of the most dangerous physical sweepers in the Pokemon world.

Ursaring

[Overview]

Many people have forgotten about this Pokemon, or called it "unusable". However, with this Pokemon's ability, Quick Feet, it can be a monster. KO'ing some of the biggest threats in OU, this Pokemon was made for the big leagues.

[SET]
Name: Quick Feet
Move 1: Swords Dance
Move 2: Close Combat
Move 3: Facade
Move 4: Crunch
Item: Toxic Orb
Ability: Quick Feet
Nature: Jolly
EV's: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set is pretty straightforward. Toxic Orb activates Ursaring's secret weapon. Mainly used as a lead, while the opponent is setting up Stealth Rock, this beast uses Swords Dance and Toxic Orb sets up Quick Feet. Then, Ursaring is ready to go and destroy anything that lies in it's path. Close Combat for those annoying steel types, Crunch to hit Psychic types and Ghost types. Facade is an important part of this set, as it has STAB and it's power is increased by poison. Pretty much OHKO's anything that doesn't resist it.

[Other Options]

Crunch can be switched for the Elemental Punches, depending on your team's needs.

[Checks and Counters]

Ursaring has a terrible weakness to any fighting type move, especially after a Close Combat defense drop. Conkeldurr and Mach Punch can easily destroy Ursaring. Max Speed Choice Scarf Haxorus with Brick Break can be a huge problem as well. Plus, basically anything that outspeeds it can hurt it badly. Ursaring can't take many hits.

A great Pokemon to use here is Wish Jirachi. If the opponent sends in a defensive Pokemon, then you can switch into Jirachi and Wish. Skarmory's Drill Peck will not do much damage to a Jirachi, neither will most things Cofagrigus can throw at it. Then, switch into Ursaring during the Wish, and switch into a Special Sweeper to take the defensive Pokemon down. Sometimes, this requires a lot of prediction, but can be pulled off for a very nice victory.

So, what do you think? Comments? Suggestions?

Unfortunately, Ursaring is on the list of Pokemon unfit for OU analysis. Please read that thread for more details.

Moving to L&O.
