Use your favorites, etc, etc...

Play with your favorites! This team probably isn't the most efficient at doing its job, but I kind of like the members themselves and was hoping to get a critique on its movesets. Thanks.

Edit : I'm willing to make more changes though I'd like not to see an entirely new team. Haha.

Gallade (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 64 HP/252 Atk/192 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- X-Scissor
- Hypnosis
- Thunder Wave
---

Lead Status Gallade. It replaced my Mismagius which really did the same job, but Gallade has been more effective at the lead spot so far. Most people expect the double status and wait a turn for me to Twave to switch so I usually take the opportunity to bring Lapras in to DD or Steelix in SR. He makes a neat lead.

Lapras (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 144 HP/252 Atk/112 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Return
- Ice Shard
---
DD Lapras. I try to switch in on bulky waters (Vaporeon, Suicune, etc) and DD up while they CM or Wish. I usually win those fights. Lum Berry is good so I can get an extra DD in while they try to status. It's also a good revenger killer for dragons. Which is the reason I put Ice Shard on a DD set. That, and I need a priority move on this team. I don't know why people are so ashamed of being swept by this. Water/Normal is a neat attacking combo. Waterfall flinch hax ftw.

Steelix (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/120 Atk/136 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Explosion
---
Physical Wall. Standard. I know Skarmory is probably more efficient at this, but I have a thing for Steelix. Haha. I get in on a non fighting/ground move, set up SR, and retreat. Occasionally, I get in an explosion as an opponent tries to stat up because they predicted a switch. I've really only ever killed a few Jirachi's, Vires, and Raikou's with EQ. Everything else, it has to explode to death.

Swellow (M) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Facade
---
Guts Swellow. Boy, is this thing fun. If I can knock out the opposing team's steel/priority move pokeys, it's all over. I don't have protect because I can usually get it in on a predicted EQ or a Celebi. Facade hurts. A lot. The only real nag I have is that both Swellow/Lapras are SR weak which make it hard for me to bring them in repeatedly so prediction is more important in my case than most teams. It's my late game sweeper, I guess you could say.

Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Poison Point
EVs: 252 Atk/84 Spd/174 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Megahorn
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast
---
Crushking. It's a lot more effective than I thought it would be when I first read the set. It does 2 hit KO most of its targets. You just have to keep in mind you're killing walls with this, not other sweepers. Most people expect a full physical set still. Weird. Occasionally, I get surprise kills when they switch which is a bonus. Anyway, it does its job well. Would Toxic Spikes work anywhere? Megahorn is really only for Celebi. And the Toxic damage could help Ludicolo's stalling.

Ludicolo (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 HP/76 SAtk/180 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Surf
- Ice Beam
---
Oh man, this guy has a field day with teams not equipped to handle it. Stall Ludicolo has to be one of the funnest sets ever. If I fudged up with Nidoking early, this guy stalls out most walls unless they carry Toxic or Calm Mind. He serves as my kind of pseudo Special Wall. It can take Special hits, but not repeatedly.

Edit: I have a large Lucario/Heracross weakness. I could use some help with that. Also, feel free to bash on any other holes you see.

Like you said you have a super massive Lucario weakness, and more often than not Mismagius is going to be killed off early due to Gengar/T-tar/Weavile/etc. Even with Mismagius still in play, its not a good counter necessarily.

Unfortunately, since you are limiting things to favorite pokes....the only thing I can sort of suggest is enough speed on Nidoking to outspeed Adamant SD luke, but that is a rather large investment and requires a +speed nature. Either that or HP Fighting on Mismagius....but even then there is the potential bullet punch and the aforementioned pursuiters...

Unless you have other favorite pokes, you are pretty much doomed to be killed by Luke =(

I would suggest Double-status Gallade as it isn't threatened by Tyranitar and the likes. You could go with Hypnosis with Thunderwave, which allows it to screw its counters. Hypnosis forces a switch and you proceed to Thunderwave and cripple Gallade counters. I suggest going with something along the lines of:

Gallade @ Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 64 HP, 252 Atk, 192 Spe
~ Close Combat
~ X-Scissor
~ Hypnosis
~ Thunderwave

It outspeeds jolly tyranitar, who are rare, yet still common enough to be aware of. Close Combat for reliable STAB and X-Scissor lets you take care of Celebi, who is a great counter to Gallade due to the resistance of both STAB. And of course, hopefully you like Gallade.

You should consider to use more solid wall, especially ones that are actually capable of holding its ground in OU, rather than Steelix, who dies to common ground and fight attacks, and Ludicolo, who has nothing against persistant special attackers that keep forcing switches to it. I can assume Blissey and Cresselia is nowhere near your favourite pokemons, so I have to suggest Empoleon, one of the coolest special walls, with something like Gliscor for your physical wall.

I can't really fix it much due to this team's basis of pokemons you like. Perhaps list some other pokemons that you like that isn't in this team? If you do so, I could always come back and rate it further.

Thanks, you guys. I've played around with both your ideas. I tried tinkering with Nidoking's speed and even ran CS King for awhile but neither were effective. You were right about that. It's too opportunistic and he loses too much power.

Also, I went against the whole motto and replaced Missy with Gallade. He's been much more effective at the status lead. I guess he'll grow on me. Haha.

So, I guess I'm willing to make more concessions (change the roster a bit) for the sake of not knowing that I'll lose at the sight of a quick fighting type (Luc/Hera). I tried Gliscor a bit, but it was so... meh. I could never really get an attack in on what I wanted. Probably was using it wrong. I also missed my phazing/SR. Are there any other good alternatives for physical walling support? I don't have a problem with OU even though most of my team is BL. Oh, Empoleon was what I had before Ludicolo. I didn't it's shared weakness with Steelix. I might try out Empoleon/Gliscor sometime or something, I guess too.

Well..there is something you can do..As similar as it sounds, it's really not. Nidoqueen over Nidoking. If you max it's HP, heavily invest into Defense, then you have a great Heracross/Lucario counter. Along with that, it can Stealth Rock AND Toxic Spikes, which now also allows you to ditch the Steelix if you wanted to.
